Chapter 579 - 579: Getting on the Wrong Car_1

Chapter 579: Chapter 579: Getting on the Wrong Car_1

Five minutes later, a BMW parked in front of the Sheraton Hotel.

“Mr. Reed, hello, I am the driver sent by Miss Huntington.”

After the car window rolled down, the man inside wearing sunglasses spoke up.

“Very good.”

Julius Reed directly pulled open the door and sat in the passenger seat.

Behind him, there were two other men, also wearing sunglasses.

“So many people?”

Julius Reed, looking through the rearview mirror, said with a smile.

“That’s right, Miss Huntington, in order to ensure your safety, specifically added more staff. Mr. Reed, do you have any concerns?”

The driver slowly started the vehicle while uneasily sizing up Julius Reed.

And the two people behind him were extremely nervous, their hands constantly resting on their waists.

“Nothing, it seems your Miss likes me quite a bit, huh!”

Julius Reed joked with a laugh.

“Our Miss has always held Mr. Reed in high respect, so she specifically instructed to protect your safety when coming over.”

Sweat formed on the driver’s forehead, yet he forced a smile and said, “As you know, things have been a bit tumultuous in Gonzalez City lately.”

“Yes, I know. I just wonder how much your Miss really respects me. Tonight, will she end up climbing into my bed? Do you know?”

Julius Reed leaned closer to the driver, the two men behind him growing even more nervous, but they forcefully restrained themselves.

The car was still driving in the downtown area, the speed was not very fast, and there were many people around.

“This…”

The driver let out a forced laugh: “What happens between you and our Miss is not something us servants dare to meddle in! You will know once you get there.”

“Oh! I got excited for nothing then. But do you know, not long ago, your Miss had an intimate encounter with me.”

Julius Reed took out his phone, glanced at it: “Huh, how come there’s no signal? This is the downtown area!”

“We are not sure either, perhaps there’s line maintenance today?”

The driver said, attempting to explain.

“Then do you have cell phones with you? What if Miss Huntington can’t reach me and becomes anxious?”

Julius Reed turned to the side, and the two bodyguards immediately shook their heads.

“Here’s the thing.”

The driver stopped at a traffic light and turned to explain, “When we go out on missions, we typically are not allowed to carry mobile phones, to prevent tracking of the other party’s whereabouts.”

“Quite meticulous.”

Julius Reed nodded, sticking his phone out the window, “Hey, it looks like there’s a little signal now.”

“Perhaps, the signal is just not very good today…”

The driver narrowed his eyes and accelerated, heading toward the outskirts.

The speed of the car instantly soared, reaching over a hundred miles an hour in the downtown area.

“Hey! Are you guys drag racing?”

Julius Reed barely managed to keep his seat, feeling the strong sensation of being pushed back suddenly.

“We’re pressed for time, please bear with us.”

Sweat beads on the driver’s head grew more numerous as he pressed the gas pedal even harder.

The speed kept increasing.

“This doesn’t seem like the way to Miss Huntington’s place, does it?”

Julius Reed looked out the window at the streets as the BMW accelerated straight toward the suburbs.

If Itai Huntington was going to talk business, it couldn’t possibly be in the suburbs.

And judging by the menu she described, it didn’t sound like something you’d find in the suburbs either.

“The Miss is in a farmhouse on the outskirts, the other party is someone who returned from abroad and is quite interested in these rural-themed restaurants.”

The driver kept on explaining while pushing the speed to over a hundred miles an hour.

On the open street, the BMW roared as it raced straight toward the suburbs.

“Hey, that signal jammer is so heavy, you don’t need to carry it on you, do you?”

About five minutes later, Julius Reed suddenly spoke up.

“What signal jammer? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

The man sitting in the back was visibly tense, stammering as he spoke.

At the same time, he subtly pushed something into the back of his waist.

“Oh, should we stop and I’ll make a call to Miss Huntington?”

Julius Reed shook the cellphone in his hand, “Look, we’re already in the suburbs, and there’s still no signal.”

“Cut the fucking crap!”

Just then, a chill sensation came over them.

The bodyguard in the backseat pulled out a dart from his waist and aimed it at Julius Reed’s head.

“Keep it cool! Or I’ll blow your brains out with one dart!”

The man said viciously.

“What’s going on? I am Miss Huntington’s guest, have you lost your minds?”

Julius Reed feigned surprise, but a cold smile spread across his lips.

Sure enough, the fox’s tail couldn’t be hidden anymore.

“Heh, Miss Huntington?”

The driver also let out a cold laugh, “We are Miss Lopez’s men! Itai Huntington, that bitch, still has no clue about what’s going on! I advise you to stay still, or we’ll send you off this world directly.”

As he spoke, the man behind Julius Reed jabbed him with the dart again.

“What! You’re not Itai Huntington’s men? Then how did you know I was going to attend Itai Huntington’s dinner party?”

Julius Reed acted extremely panicked, his voice even starting to quiver.

“Ha! Scared now, aren’t you?”

The driver finally relaxed; the fear had made his legs weak during the ride.

“If you’d known this would happen today, why did you ever oppose our Miss Lopez? Thought you were somebody tough, made me scared as hell all the way here!”

“Miss Lopez? Jennifer Lopez?”

Julius Reed’s eyes widened as he seemed to suddenly realize something, “It can’t really be her, can it? She… she’s come to Gonzalez City?”

Jennifer Lopez couldn’t possibly be in Gonzalez City.

All of Gonzalez City was under Aron Jackson’s watch. If Jennifer Lopez had come here, Julius Reed would have definitely been notified.

“Shut up! You think you can call Miss Lopez’s name that casually?”

The driver said impatiently, “Number Two, shut him up!”

“You better fucking behave!”

Number Two jabbed the dart forward, threatening fiercely, “Another word and I’ll smash your skull!”

“Jennifer Lopez, that is indeed Miss Lopez. After all, I have photos of her getting cozy with a man. You guys interested?”

Julius Reed grinned at the three people in the car, his eyes brimming with sleaze.

“Damn it! I should blow his head off!”

Number Two seemed to be losing his patience.

“No can do, Brother Beaumont said we need him alive.”

The driver hurriedly stopped his brother’s impulsive thought, “If you kill him, Miss Lopez will have your head.”

“But he dared to insult Miss Lopez!”

Number Two fumed, his teeth itching to act, “Can we at least beat him up?”

“Of course not.”

Julius Reed turned around and extended his hand, “Take a look, what is this?”

“A dart?”

Number Two’s eyes bulged in astonishment, “Where did it come from?”

“Seems like it’s from your gun.”

Julius Reed smiled faintly, “So now, who is the prey, and who is the Hunter?”

“Impossible!”

Number Two moved the dart to the right and pulled the trigger hard.

Click!

The sound of a dry fire.

“How is this possible!”

Before he could react, Julius Reed jammed the dart into Number Two’s brow with force.
