Chapter 10: 10- New Tenent - Part 2

Liam looked at the young teen sitting in front of him with a stiff expression on her unimpressed face. She had her new contract in her hand, but it did not seem as if Bianca wanted to read it much.

"You just need me to sign at the bottom of this paper, right? Once that is done, can I move into my new home? Then, give me the paper, and I will sign it right now."

Bianca's attention was focused on the paper in front of her. And because she had such a confident look on her face, Liam lost his opportunity to tell her otherwise and ended up having her sign the deal.

Once that was done, he needed to explain to Bianca about payment and other benefits she would not get because she chose this place.

It was scummy of Liam to do this after the contract was already signed and Bianca was forced to hold up her end of the payment agreement. But in front of the bribe that was money, things like one's rationality had no chance of survival.

"Young miss, since you have signed the deal already, you will have about a month to pay your first rent installment. Please let me know as soon as you can make the first installment of your rent."

Liam might be hungry for money, but he was not an asshole. He was not going to demand a huge sum of money from a kid like Bianca right after she signed the deal.

However, Bianca had a different idea about the payment situation, and she was also not shy about letting Liam know about it.

"There is no need to be so considerate toward me. In fact, I would prefer it if you treat me like any other person and not give me special treatment just because I am female and young. And about the payment, I will make it right now, so please give me your bank account."

Liam felt a little surprised, but not shocked enough to make his brain stop working.

Bianca's confidence spoke volumes about her background as a wealthy person. As for making payment in one go? It did make sense for her to do that if she offered to pay twice the original rate Liam was asking for.

It meant that she had that much money prepared.

'Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth. If I can get the money early, then it is better for me.'

Liam sighed before he gave Bianca his account details to deposit the money.

He would need to make a trip to the bank because of this sudden amount of money that had been deposited in his account so that he wouldn't be taken in for illegal work.

Bianca also wasted no time in settling herself into the upper floor of his house. The rent money was also wired to Liam by the end of the day.

Somehow, this disaster of a day had ended on a positive note… somewhat.

Liam's eyes flashed open as soon as he heard the loud noise disturbing his peaceful sleep. He grabbed his phone to check the time, and his screen flashed 02:00 AM at him.

"Fucking hell! What is it now? Why would someone be awake at this god-awful hour in the middle of nowhere like this town?"

Liam questioned as he got out of bed.

As much as he hated to leave the warmth of his bed, his desire to check out what was happening was even greater. So, after a long mental struggle, Liam quickly got up and walked to his door before heading outside the house to investigate.

His eyes instantly saw blue flames covering the upper floor of his house. None of it looked burned, but the shock of seeing blue flames was enough to make Liam pause.

"I think I'm still half asleep right now. No, wait, I need to remember that magic is a real thing. I cannot let myself panic without checking out what is happening."

The thing that made Liam certain this was magic and not someone setting his house on fire was the fact that no one else had come out to check what was happening. There was no burning smell in the air either, making Liam cautious as he approached the fire.

But for the sake of his house (and his mental well-being), Liam decided to take this leap of faith and walk up the stairs.

"What kind of flames are these? It feels as if I am being physically repelled by them."

Liam did feel like he was being pushed in different directions, but the situation was not as bad as he was making it out to be. In reality, the pressure from the fire felt like a gust of strong wind trying to push Liam backward and sideways.

But no matter how much Liam lacked physical strength, his body weight ensured he wouldn't be blown away by the gust of wind.

He made his way to the top of the stairs and stood in front of the door. Liam could hear a lot more noises up close to the entrance, and not all of them sounded good or promising.

The crash noises, in particular, did nothing to help Liam's confidence. He was sure something had broken in his home. Now, he only needed to know if that "something" was enough to warrant breaking the contract in the first few hours of getting a new tenant.

Liam took a deep breath to brace himself before he knocked on the burning door. His hand passed through the fire and made contact with the wood in front of him.

"Excuse me! Miss Bianca, are you in there? Are you awake? If you don't open the door in the next minute, then I will have to use my master key to open it and check up on you—"

The door slammed open, and something with sharp claws jumped at Liam.

He managed to dodge to the side, and whatever that thing with the sharp claws jumped onto the balcony railing before a chain flew past the open door and coiled around the thrashing body.

Bianca Ross followed the chain outside, her modesty nowhere to be seen as her clothes barely covered her skin. The teenager was in her night clothes, with more than a few cuts marking her body and arms.

"Tsk, do you think you can run away from me? On my honor as a witch, I cannot allow you to escape…"

Bianca's eyes finally met Liam's—all because Liam let out a curse as he hit his hand against the open door.
