Thane stumbled back as he found himself standing back in front of his dragon, who watched him expectantly.

"What was that!" Thane exclaimed, his mind still reeling from the memory as countless phantom sensations sent tingling pulses up and down his spine. Equal parts awe and terror gripped Thane's heart as his mind replayed the countless spectacles performed by beings so powerful there was no other word to describe them but gods.

"That was our birth," Thane's dragon replied as he retracted his claw. Thane's gaze snapped up to stare his dragon in the eyes, "That was you in the vision, an older version, but almost certainly you! You're Magala!"

"While you may refer to me by that name, I am not the same being," Magala replied calmly as he held Thane's gaze, "The original Magala ceased to exist from that day on, along with Ithariel the First King of the Fae and Yggdrasil the World Tree. They sacrificed their individuality and souls to create something unique...they created you."

Thane was at a loss for words as he struggled to find any part of himself reflected in the three immense beings the memory had shown him. "That doesn't make sense. How can three separate beings become one? I mean, you're here, and during my awakening ritual, I felt the world tree in the planet's core. It can't be there and a part of my soul at the same time!"

Magala let out a weary sigh as if tired from an arduous task that was long overdue for completion, "The World Tree was only a vessel for her power. Yggdrasil's true nature was that of a spirit, the one you saw in the memory. Her soul was consumed along with the others. As for me, I already told you I am not the same being as the Great Autarch. I am a spiritual manifestation, a combination of his remnant will and your own subconscious...but I believe I have long overstayed my welcome."

There was a tone of finality in Magala's voice that made Thane pause, "What do you mean?"

Magala let out a rumbling chuckle, "While I have preached to you about being one, it is impossible unless we are genuinely one consciousness. My existence is the antithesis of your proper nature. And now that you know the truth of your nature and creation I have fulfilled my purpose. There is no other tie holding me to this realm."

Thane struggled to find the right words to respond before he realized that no words needed to be said.

"Thank you for letting me feel the wind beneath my wings one final time," Magala said with a dip of his head as a halo of soft silver light enveloped his form before expanding to wash through the entire cave, carrying Thane's awareness with it.

Thane's eyes shot open as he sat up in bed. For a long moment, Thane stared at his bed sheets as a new weight settled onto his shoulders, and Yggdrasil's words echoed in his mind.

"Magala, Autarch Of Beasts, and Ithariel, King of Beings, you two are both the origin and pinnacles of your respective races, singularities that will never grace this realm again."

'What does that make me?' Thane asked as he looked at his hands, 'I was created from the souls of the most powerful beings ever to walk the earth.'

A deep feeling of inadequacy threatened to overwhelm Thane as his hands clenched into fists, and a memory resurfaced in his mind, 'you move in the shadows and plot, hoping the wolves won't sniff you out, but they need to see you...they need to see us. Stop hiding what we are capable of. Let our brilliance shine so brightly that any who stand in our way become blinded by our radiance.'

Thane's secretive and humble nature, created by childhood trauma, taught him to always hide his magic. His sudden social ousting further reinforced this habit during his first year at Hogwarts. Through Thalion's teachings, Thane had managed to overcome the most debilitating and destructive effects of his trauma, but it had never truly disappeared. Something Thane's dragon had called him out on. But now that Thane understood who he was, there was no reason to hide or keep his ego in check. At the most fundamental level, Thane was simply better. The very gods created his soul millions of years ago so that one day, he could restore balance and order to the world and restore magic throughout the planet. Understandably, Thane's ego swelled, infusing him with a new sense of urgency.

Throwing off his sheets, Thane waved his hand, causing his trunk to flip open and a quill and feather to fly out. Grabbing the quill, Thane quickly wrote a message before signing his name and pressing his ring against the parchment, which hissed as Thane's house signate burned into the paper. The parchment then folded itself into an envelope before bursting into silver flames and vanishing out of thin air without leaving behind a single ash.

Sitting at her desk, Rita was contemplating the title for her latest article when a bright flash of silver light drew her attention, and she turned to look at her mailbox set to receive any mail addressed to her. Most often, it was either fan mail or a scathing reply from the subject of her latest article. But from the moment Rita laid eyes on the seemingly plain letter, she could tell it was no ordinary missive.

Standing up from her desk, Rita walked over and picked up the envelope from atop the pile, which promptly unfolded into a letter. Before Rita even read the letter's contents, her eyes drifted toward the bottom right and locked onto the signature and signet burned into the parchment.

"Well, hello there!" Rita exclaimed as her interest peaked. She quickly read over the letter, and with each word, her eyes grew larger and larger that by the end of the brief message. Rita had practically had dollar signs flashing in her eyes.
