Chapter 59: Leaving

*************************

Japan, Ozunu Orphanage, Forest

Lucian's consciousness returned to his body, a wave of warmth washing over him. He was back in reality.

He hadn't opened his eyes, but he could hear the murmuring voices around him a chorus of hushed whispers and concerned inquiries.

They were growing weary, their patience wearing thin. He could feel their presence, their worry, their anticipation. He wasn't sure how long he had been out, how long they had been waiting. But he knew he needed to wake up, to face them, to answer their questions.

"Are you sure he's fine? It's almost ten in the morning. I haven't eaten yet, and my back still hurts." Mika complained, her voice laced with irritation.

"Why don't you check on him? If he's fine, come on, so we can all go home." Mika said, pushing Raizo on the arm.

"I can't. He needs to wake up on his own. His meditation will work better if he's not disturbed halfway through." Raizo replied, looking at Lucian with confusion.

'How can a kid have so much patience when meditating?' he thought in amazement.

It was practically impossible for someone Lucian's age to meditate nonstop for four hours.

"Are you sure he's fine?" Satomi asked, her gaze fixed on Lucian with worry.

"He's waking up!" Kim Yoo-ri shouted, her gaze glued to Lucian. He was a sight to behold, even in his weakened state.

His features were sharp and handsome, his skin smooth and pale. She couldn't help but admire his beauty, a strange mix of youthful innocence and raw power. Her eyes, bright with interest, followed his every movement as his eyelids fluttered open.

Everyone's eyes turned towards Lucian, their attention drawn to him.

Lucian frowned as he looked at Kim Yoo-ri in confusion. He hadn't seen her before he fainted. But he was calmer than ever, as his unstable emotions were already vented in the soul space.

He stood up, and a sound of swallowing echoed through the forest, as all the women except Satomi turned their backs on him. Satomi, however, looked at him with a worried expression.

Lucian looked at Satomi, his expression a tangled knot of confusion and shame.

He couldn't believe how easily he had lost control, how he had lashed out at her. He bowed his head, a gesture of respect and apology.

"I'm sorry for attacking you." he said, his voice was hesitant. Knowing he was wrong while knowing what a bite of an Alpha meant, he tried to understand the power that raged within him.

Satomi, seeing the vulnerability in his eyes, felt a rush of protectiveness. This was her Beta, her responsibility, her family. He had been through so much. She knew he needed comfort. She took a step closer, her hand gently caressing his hair.

"It's been hard for you." she whispered, her voice a soothing balm. She didn't try to explain the events, didn't lecture him on his actions. Instead, she offered him solace, a quiet reassurance that he wasn't alone.

Lucian looked up, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief. He was accustomed to not trusting people he didn't know.

This tenderness, this genuine care, felt weird for him. 'Why is she being so kind to me?' he asked himself, a mix of curiosity and doubt swirling within him. His pupils glowed a faint yellow, a hint of his true nature.

Cortana's soft voice, a comforting presence within his mind, answered his question. 'Probably because of your connection with her. An Alpha and Beta connection is stronger than a mother and son bond,' she explained, her words resolving his uncertainty.

Satomi saw the disbelief in Lucian's expression, the wary tilt of his head, the flicker of suspicion in his eyes.

She understood. He wasn't used to kindness, not after everything he'd been through.

He had lost his clan, his home, He was a ninja and an assassin but beneath the hardened exterior, he was still a boy.

She continued to caress his hair, her touch gentle and reassuring, hoping to offer him a moment of peace. 'One step at a time,' she thought. She couldn't force him to accept her, not yet. 'The kid had been through a lot,' she murmured to herself, her gaze fixed on Lucian's face.

"Thank you for saving me when you didn't have to." Lucian whispered to Satomi, still bowing respectfully.

He wasn't bowing because she was Alpha, but because she had helped him, and that was enough. His gratitude was sincere, a genuine expression of his appreciation.

He had seen the ruthlessness of the world, he knew that they have a goal but he can't ignore that the woman in front of him saved him, but at the same time he will do his best to repay that favor knowing there's nothing free in this world.

Satomi saw the sincerity in his eyes, the genuine warmth that was slowly blossoming beneath his stoic exterior. She wanted to encourage that warmth to draw him closer, to show him that he didn't have to stand alone. She didn't want him to be overly formal, not with her, his alpha. Respect was good but she wanted him to feel safe towards her as his pack member.

She smiled, her warmth radiating towards him. "Enough with the bowing. Let's find some clothes." she said, her voice playful, trying to break the formality. "We've got a long way to go, and you're going to need some decent clothes to wear."

Lucian raised an eyebrow, looking at his naked body before nodding at Satomi.

He walked toward the Kurokos' dead bodies, passing by Kim Yoo-ri, who glanced at his back before turning around again.

Mika watched them, a flicker of unease in her eyes. 'He seems so... too composed,' she thought, a little unnerved by his stoic demeanor. As she looked at Lucian who was passing by all the dead bodies.

Satomi followed him, observing his actions. Finally, Lucian picked a Kuroko whose pants were relatively blood-free. He took them off the corpse. 'No chance for their shirt,' Lucian thought, remembering how he had killed them by cutting off their heads, soaking their tops with blood.

Satomi looked at Lucian with sadness. What she was seeing wasn't a ninja anymore but a member of her pack, only nine years old, not bothered by taking clothes from the dead.

"Why don't we find you some clean clothes?" Satomi asked, offering to find him some clean clothes but Lucian shook his head. "This is enough for now." he said, finally taking off Kuroko's pants and putting them on before offering Satomi a reassuring smile.

Satomi sighed. 'It looks like I need to teach him what a normal life is like,' she thought, wanting her beta to have a normal childhood, rather than just memories of killing and training.

Mika, observing them, elbowed Raizo in the arm. He turned to her, sighing and rubbing his arm before looking at Lucian, who was walking towards him.

"You need to say sorry to that woman, as we changed her memories to hide your true nature turning into a normal werewolf and her getting hurt." Raizo whispered to Lucian.

Lucian's eyes furrowed with concern.'It looks like someone knows about the different types of Kitsune,' he thought. He knew there were different kinds of Kitsune, like how Noshiko was a Celestial Kitsune and Kira was a Thunder Kitsune. But he didn't know what the others were like.

He quickly glanced at Noshiko, who was talking on the phone, her back to him.

He couldn't place her face, but her voice seemed vaguely familiar

Then it hit him. 'Noshiko,' He thought, he remembered seeing her display a Kitsune aura during the fight a subtle flicker of energy that only another Kitsune could recognize. 'she probably recognized my aura,' then he nodded at Raizo in agreement. accepting his role on Mika's new memory hiding his true nature.

Lucian looked at Mika before bowing his head. His eyes held a calculated sadness, a hint of sympathy for the woman whose memory had been manipulated.

"I'm sorry." he said, his voice a practiced tone of remorse.

"I didn't mean to hurt you when I lost control." He was acting, his apology a performance for someone whose memories were not real. He knew that Mika wouldn't remember the truth, but he still felt a sense of obligation to apologize for the role he played in her altered reality.

'we need to find a way to protect our mind,' Lucian said to Cortana not wanting to be like Mika in the future.

'It may be hard for anyone to get in your mind since I'm here and Golden Tree as well,' Cortana said informing Lucian that not anyone can change his memories like Mika.

'Hard, but not impossible,' Lucian said as he observed Mika quietly. Cortana sighed in his mind. 'I'll find a way,' she said knowing Lucian wasn't going to stop until he found a secure way.

"Ahem, it's fine, it's fine." Mika coughed, her cheeks reddening. She couldn't help but feel embarrassed that Lucian was so young.

"But are you sure you're okay?" she asked with worry. Mika wasn't a bad person. She was just worried about how Lucian would be after everything. Not all kids could control themselves, especially after gaining supernatural powers.

Lucian smiled sincerely. "I'm fine. Thank you for your worries." He answered. Then he heard a cough beside him, which drew his attention.

He saw a woman standing beside Satomi, familiar but still a mystery. He looked at her with scrutiny before remembering where he had seen her.

'From Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox. Why is she even here?' Lucian found the answer, but more questions just kept coming.

He couldn't help but wonder why someone from Korea would come all the way here.

Kim Yoo-ri walked toward Lucian, her expression serious. Her gaze lingered on his face, taking in his features. She couldn't help but admire his striking appearance a handsome mix of youthful innocence and raw power but now, there's something about his features that seemed different.

Her eyes drifted towards his ears, a strange mixture of curiosity and concern filling her gaze. She had noticed them before, those distinctive pointed ears but she had assumed they were a temporary feature as a result of his recent transformation. But now, as she observed him more closely, she realized that they weren't just a temporary change. They were permanent.

She extended her hand, opening it to show him the earrings she had received from Areum. "I think you might need these." she said, her voice was soft, her gaze still resting on his ears.

Lucian didn't take the earrings. He just looked at Kim Yoo-ri. "And you are?" he asked, his voice laced with confusion. Not knowing her motives.

"I am-" Kim Yoo-ri stopped, taking a sneak peek at Mika before shaking her head. "I'll explain later, but for now, these can help you cover up your appearance." she said, urging Lucian to take the earrings.

Lucian didn't move. He looked at Kim Yoo-ri with wariness. 'What game is this woman playing?' he thought, not believing her for a second.

"Child, you can take them. Your appearance is attracting too much attention." Satomi stepped forward to intervene, seeing Lucian's expression and knowing that he probably wouldn't trust Kim Yoo-ri.

Lucian frowned, a mix of apprehension and recognition swirling in his eyes. He knew, based on her voice and the way she had acted towards him, that this woman with a mask and was an Alpha Wolf was Satomi Ito.

Knowing she bit him, making him a member of her pack, He had felt her presence, her power, her protectiveness but there was still a part of him, a deep-seated instinct that resisted her.

As they heard Footsteps approached. Walking towards them getting their attention.

"I already called, telling Sen to send a chopper." Noshiko said to Satomi, stopping beside Lucian. She looked at him, her eyes lingering on his features.

"You should use it. Your appearance is making it impossible for you to return to public life " Noshiko said, her voice calm, her gaze steady. She couldn't help but feel a strange curiosity towards him.

His charm was undeniable, She had seen many Kitsune in her time but she had never seen one like him. 'His charm is just too much, even for a Kitsune,' Noshiko thought, a sense of bewilderment washing over her.

Lucian frowned, knowing she was right. While he confirmed she was Noshiko based on her voice. He then took a look at the giant wolf by her side. 'Who's this then?' he thought, unable to think about a character who can transform into a full wolf.

Seeing him remain silent, Noshiko continued. "And your irises are showing what kind of Kitsune you are. Trust me when I say you won't like other people knowing what you are, kid." Noshiko said, knowing Lucian was a wary child and aware of his own weaknesses.

Lucian's eyes narrowed, before making a decision he heard Cortana's voice sounded in his mind.

'I think I figured out why Kim Yoo-ri is here,' her voice laced with shock and intrigue

'Why?' Lucian asked Cortana, looking at Kim Yoo-ri.

'When you figured out that the woman was Noshiko, I thought about Kitsune origins,' Cortana said, pausing for a moment, her voice tinged with confusion. 'A Kitsune can't appear with an Alpha's bite, as Kitsune can only be born from a Kitsune. So, I put it together, the giant fox you saw last night in the sky, and finally, your mother knows Jang Man Wol, while Kim Yoo-ri is from Korea as well. It all points to one thing.' Cortana's voice became more confident as she felt closer to the truth.

Lucian's eyes widened. He looked at Kim Yoo-ri, who tilted her head in confusion. 'Why is he looking at me like that?' she thought, troubled.

'So, you think my mother was a Kitsune and she was here last night, and that's why Kim Yoo-ri is here?' Lucian asked Cortana, wanting to be sure.

'Yes,' Cortana answered, feeling confident in her analysis.

'Then why didn't she help me?' Lucian looked down, asking the question in a confused tone, his voice laced with sadness.

Cortana was silent for a few seconds.

'I don't know, but you can confirm my guess first, maybe I'm wrong,' she said softly, wanting Lucian not to take it seriously.

Lucian's eyes turned towards Kim Yoo-ri again. "Do you know my mother?" he asked, his voice simple, as he observed Kim Yoo-ri's facial expression, seeking answers.

Kim Yoo-ri's eyes widened in surprise.

"How?" she asked, confused and shocked. She couldn't understand how Lucian had figured out her connection to his mother without anyone telling him.

"I think I should be the one asking questions, don't you think?" Lucian said, his silver iris and Golden yellow pupils glowed intensely, showing his irritated mood.

"Okay, take these first. They're here," Noshiko said, sensing the tension. She took the earrings from Kim Yoo-ri and placed them in Lucian's hand. She looked up, hearing the sound of a helicopter approaching.

"Put them on now." Satomi said to Lucian, patting him on the shoulder, her voice laced with worry. She didn't want people to see his appearance.

Lucian's eyes narrowed at Kim Yoo-ri.

"We're not finished," he said coldly before putting the earrings on. They pierced his earlobe, and a white mist appeared, covering his whole body. The mist dispersed slowly, revealing a different Lucian. His hair and irises had turned black, his face now handsome, not unnaturally handsome, and his ears had become normal.

Lucian looked up at the helicopter landing on the ground, its rotors stirring the dust and dry leaves. The door opened, and he saw a familiar figure with red hair.

'Scarlett, G.I Joe,' Lucian thought comparing the Scarlett from snake eyes or G.I joe seeing a familiarity of both actresses in her appearance.

"Are you guys coming in?" Scarlett shouted, her voice echoing through the empty space. She waved a hand towards the open door of the helicopter, her eyes scanning the group. Her gaze landed on Lucian, and she couldn't help but raise a brow. 'This kid is more handsome than I thought,' she thought, her gaze lingering on his features.

'It looks like they healed him fast,' she mused, a surge of curiosity washing over her. She had assumed that Lucian was a goner, but he was standing there, looking almost as good as new. She wondered how they had managed to heal him so quickly.

Noshiko frowned, seeing that it wasn't from the Arashikage clan. She shook her head, too tired to think about it. She turned to the others, shouting,

"Let's go! If you have questions, ask later!" She shouted, her voice barely audible over the helicopter's noise. Noshiko started walking toward the chopper, followed by Raizo and Mika.

Satomi looked at their backs before turning towards Lucian with a smile. "Let's go." she said, walking towards the helicopter.

Lucian looked at them, but then a voice stopped him.

"I'm really glad you're fine, kid." Deaton said, nodding at Lucian before walking towards the helicopter.

Lucian's brows furrowed hearing Deaton's voice figuring out who he was. He kept asking himself the same question. 'Why are they here?' he thought. Though he was grateful for their help, he couldn't help but feel that they had come just for him. Making him confused and worried about their goals.

He started walking towards the chopper with Kim Yoo-ri trailing behind him. Before they boarded, they saw Scarlett handing clothes and a mask to Noshiko.

While Noshiko nodded, took them, and walked toward the giant black wolf.

Lucian just looked, then got into the helicopter. He sat down, and Kim Yoo-ri took the seat beside him, making him frown.

He turned his head to the side not wanting to pay attention to her before He looked forward, feeling someone's gaze.

He saw Scarlett observing him with interest. They locked eyes for a moment, then Scarlett pointed at him and then at her headphone.

Lucian narrowed his eyes but took the headphones from the side.

He heard Scarlett's voice. "It's about getting to know an Ozunu ninja who didn't want to kill me." she said with a smirk. "Can you tell me your name?"

Lucian looked at her silently, before a disdainful grin appeared on his face and answered, with an emotionless voice.

"For me, you guys are the ones who attacked us and killed the members of my clan, no?" He took off the headphones and put them back on the side.

Satomi froze in place, knowing that from the kid's point of view, it was right to think they were the bad guys. 'This kid will be harder to deal with than I thought.' She observed Lucian's face, remembering him in her mind.

Noshiko got in, followed by another woman wearing a mask who nodded at Lucian, feeling his gaze as she closed the door.

Noshiko took a headphone as the helicopter started to rise. "Why are you the one who came?" Noshiko asked, knowing that an Arashikage clan ninja should have been the one to pick them up.

"General Hawk and Lady Sen were having a discussion about cooperation with Joe's and the Arashikage clan. When I heard they were coming to pick you guys up, I volunteered," Scarlett said with a smile. She thought to herself, 'And to find out more information about you guys, of course,' she added silently.

Noshiko frowned but stayed quiet, knowing she was just a close friend of Sen and couldn't control the Arashikage clan ninjas' decisions.

Scarlett, not hearing a reply, turned back to look at Mika. "Should I send you back to your colleagues?"

Mika looked at the orphanage in the distance. "No need. I'm dying of hunger and wanting to sleep," she said utterly exhausted from everything that had happened.

Lucian looked at the direction of the orphanage, his mind filled with thoughts.

He saw the wreckage, couldn't feel sad but beneath the sadness a flicker of determination burned. He had to move forward. He had to rebuild, and find his clan members.

He took the headphones and put them back on. "Can you go to the orphanage first? I need to take a look." he asked, his voice flat and emotionless, hiding his turmoil behind a wall of indifference.

Everyone looked at him.

They were exhausted, their bodies weary from the battles they had fought, their minds strained from the events that had unfolded. But no one argued. They knew that this was important to him. Satomi smiled, a genuine, loving encouraging smile. She knew he was carrying the burden of a clan, and she knew what it was like to lose people you loved but she also knew that Lucian was strong, that he would overcome this.

Scarlett paused for a second before turning the chopper towards the Ozunu Orphanage. "Roger that." she said playfully, a thin smile appearing on her lips.

As they got near the orphanage, all they saw were the remains of the wreckage, with some parts of the orphanage still standing. The fire had been put out by an unexpected rain the night before.

The soldiers on the ground looked up at the helicopter flying above them.

Maslow looked up as well, taking the radio from his chest. "Hey, can anyone tell me what's a helicopter doing here?" He spoke into the radio, then it crackled back to life with Scarlett's voice.

"The kid wanted to see the orphanage." Scarlett said, knowing that they should be able to understand.

"That kid survived," Maslow whispered, surprise filling his eyes.

The passengers in the helicopter looked at the orphanage, while Satomi watched Lucian with a worried expression.

Lucian looked at the destroyed Ozunu Orphanage, thoughts swirling in his mind. He stood up and opened the door.

"Hey, wait! What are you doing?" Deaton asked in surprise, his eyes widening as they saw Lucian jump out.

Lucian landed on the ground with a thud, dust spreading from his impact. The soldiers raised their guns in surprise.

Lucian just stood up, looking at them before focusing on Maslow. He started walking towards the orphanage.

"Shit, this kid just won't stay still." Mika said, her voice laced with anger. She was too tired to even get angry at Lucian.

Noshiko looked at Satomi, seeing her worried expression.

"Can you land the helicopter?" Noshiko asked Scarlett, who just nodded while the helicopter began to descend.

"Hey, wait!" Maslow shouted towards Lucian, wanting to stop Lucian from seeing the wreckage of his clan.

Lucian didn't stop. He continued walking towards the part of the orphanage that hadn't been ruined, a strange calm settling over him.

It felt surreal, walking through the aftermath of the battle, the air still thick with the scent of smoke and the lingering metallic tang of blood. Every step was a reminder of the chaos that had unfolded, of the lives lost, of the battles fought.

He passed by the bodies of his fallen comrades, their faces frozen in death. Some were young, some were old, but they were all Ozunu ninjas, bound by the same oath, united by the same purpose.

Their silent presence was a constant weight on his heart, a reminder of the price he had paid and the burden he needed to carry.

Then his gaze fell upon the bodies of the Arashikage ninjas, their faces just as still, their bodies just as lifeless but there was no sense of kinship in his heart towards them.

Although they help them from the Kurokos but here they were his enemies, the ones who had sought to destroy his Clan, the ones who had taken so many lives.

He felt no sorrow at their demise, only blank emotion for strangers he didn't know anyways.

He walked towards the undamaged weapon room, the farthest away from where the battle had begun.

Lucian kicked the door open, the sound echoing through the empty room. The force of the kick sent splinters flying, adding to the already chaotic scene. He walked inside, his gaze sweeping over the familiar space.

The weapon room, a place of both comfort and tension, greeted him like an old friend. He moved with a practiced ease, his footsteps didn't make a sound as he approached the closet.

He changed into a pair of clean pants from the storage locker, as well taking a shirt not caring if he got recognized.

He then grabbed a large cloth, the feel of it rough against his fingertips. It was a simple act, but it carried a weight of familiarity, a reminder of his past. He closed the closet, the sound of the door clicking shut snapping him back to the present.

He looked at the weapons, each one a testament to his training, his dedication, his skills.

He felt a pull towards the Kusarigama, its steel chains a symbol of both defense and offense.

He picked it up, the weight of it a comforting presence in his hand. He ran his fingers along the chains, feeling the smooth metal under his touch.

He fastened it around his waist, the familiar weight settling against his hip, a reminder of his power, his purpose.

He then selected a katana, its gleaming blade reflecting the dim light that filtered through the broken window. It felt balanced in his hand, its sharpness an exhilarating presence.

He traced the edge of the blade with his thumb, feeling a thrilling course through him. Feeling comfortable having a weapon rather than not having one.

He walked towards the crates, his real goal, his gaze focused.

As he started moving the crates aside, revealing the hidden floor beneath. It was a simple trick, a secret known only to the members of the Ozunu clan, a testament to their ingenuity and their need to protect their treasures.

He knelt down, his fingers working deftly to release the floorboard.

A shaft of golden light flooded the space, revealing the stack of gold bars.

They gleamed in the dim light, a testament to the clan's wealth, a symbol of their power, a reminder of the price they had paid for their existence. He heard footsteps approaching.

"What are you doing, although you are s-" Satomi, who had just gotten out of the helicopter and followed him in, frowned as she saw the gold bars.

Her eyes widened in surprise, a flicker of concern crossing her face. Behind her, Noshiko watched Lucian, a curious expression on her face. Noshiko had never seen a Kitsune so driven, so resolute. There was a strength in him that went beyond his young years. She turned toward the gold, her eyes reflecting a mix of fascination and apprehension.

"Yes," Lucian stated, his voice firm and unwavering. He laid the large cloth on the floor and started placing the gold bars on it, one by one, until he had ten.

He carefully closed the cloth and tied it, his movements precise and deliberate.

He walked back to the closet, taking two more large clothes, with an unwavering look.

"Aren't you sad that your clan was destroyed?" Satomi asked, her voice soft, her concern evident. She didn't want her beta to be consumed by money or power.

Lucian stopped and turned towards Satomi. He looked at Raizo and Kim Yoo-ri, who had come with them, before turning back to look at Satomi.

Lucian's gaze was steady, his expression showed no emotion. There was no sign of sorrow, no hint of vulnerability.

"I'm not sad." he stated, his voice firm, his confidence unshakeable. "As we all know, the Ozunu Clan won't be destroyed as long as I'm here." His words held a quiet power, a conviction that echoed in the silence of the room.

He knew what he had to do. The future of the Ozunu Clan was in his hands. He wouldn't fail them.

He laid his clothes on the ground before looking at Raizo. "Help me."

Raizo looked at the gold bars, his gaze lingering on the gleam of the metal. He knew where it came from, the blood-stained price of their profession. A wave of disgust washed over him. But then he saw Lucian's resolute gaze, the one who had inherited the burden of the Ozunu Clan.

A flicker of apprehension crossed Raizo's eyes, but he nodded. He would help Lucian, not because he agreed with his methods, but he was the hope that others like them would have a better life. Raizo took a cloth and, with a slight frown, followed Lucian's example.

Satomi watched, a mix of concern and astonishment in her eyes. She knew, better than anyone, the burden Lucian was carrying. Yet, he was handling it with such a strange kind of calm. It both troubled and reassured her. She was still in shock over his transformation, over the immense power he had shown.

Satomi was his Alpha, his protector, and even if she didn't understand his actions, she wouldn't abandon him. She sighed, trying to understand what was going through his mind.

She couldn't help but admire his will and she couldn't help but feel proud of him. She knelt down beside him and helped him take the gold out of the cloth.

Lucian paused, looking at Satomi with emotion, his eyes reflecting a complex blend of gratitude.

"I'll take it to the helicopter." Kim Yoo-ri said, picking up the tied-up cloth filled with gold bars.

She didn't wait for a response, simply moving with a practiced ease that suggested she didn't care what Lucian thought.

Lucian watched her go, his gaze lingering on her back as she walked away. There was a strange mix of confusion and gratitude in his eyes.

He had only met her a short time ago, but he already sensed a depth to her, a complexity he couldn't quite grasp. She seemed to know things about him, about his past, that he hadn't revealed. She had helped him, offered to help him, and he couldn't deny that he appreciated her assistance but there was still a part of him that held back, a part of him that questioned her motives.

Lucian shook his head, pushing those thoughts aside. He focused on tying the last cloth, with precise movements and control.

He looked at the gold bars he was leaving behind, staying silent for a second before sighing. He closed the floor, then moved the crates back into place with the help of Raizo, Satomi, and Noshiko.

They worked in a silent, efficient rhythm, their movements fluid and coordinated but a strange tension hung in the air.

"Thank you for your help." Lucian bowed to them, this time his voice was quiet but sincere.

Noshiko's gaze lingered on Lucian for a moment, her expression unreadable.

She felt a strange pull towards this young sense of protectiveness she couldn't explain.

She had seen many Kitsune in her time, some powerful, some cunning, some dangerous but there was something different about Lucian, a depth to his soul that she couldn't ignore.

She simply nodded, her silence a testament to the unspoken power she felt emanating from him.

Satomi, on the other hand, beamed at him. Her heart swelled with a protective warmth. She couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride in her new Beta.

Even in the face of adversity, he had been resolute, strong, and, most importantly, kind.

Satomi gently placed a hand on his shoulder, touching a silent reassurance.

"You're welcome, Lucian." she whispered, her voice filled with affection.

"We are here for you."

They emerged from the weapon room, the weight of the past heavy in their steps.

The wreckage of the Ozunu Orphanage lay before them, a stark testament to the violence that had unfolded. As they made their way back to the helicopter.

The soldiers who had guarded the perimeter watched them with a mix of awe and uncertainty.

They couldn't comprehend the events that had transpired, the sheer resilience of this young boy.

Lucian paused at the edge of the wreckage, turning to take one last look. The sun, a fiery ball of orange, hung low in the sky, casting long shadows across the ruined building.

It was a scene of devastation, but it was also a place of memories, a place of resilience, a place where he had first tasted the power that coursed through him. 'I'm leaving,' he thought, his voice a whisper only he could hear.

But the thought held a bittersweet quality, a blend of liberation and sorrow. He was moving forward, but he was also leaving a part of himself behind.

The orphanage, with all its flaws and imperfections, had been his home. It was here he had learned to fight, to survive, to be strong. He had found purpose within its walls, and it was here he had discovered the deep well of strength that lay dormant within him.

He was leaving a piece of his past, but he was also leaving a part of himself that would forever be intertwined with this place, this memory.

He got into the helicopter, his gaze lingering on the scene before him. As the helicopter began to ascend, his heart ached with a silent goodbye.

The world held a myriad of possibilities but it also held a myriad of uncertainties. He had stepped into a new world, a world of magic, a world of danger, a world that demanded strength and courage.

He was a Kitsune, a Ninja, a Survivor, and he was ready to face whatever lay ahead.

"What did you guys take? Isn't it a bit heavy?" Scarlett asked, as she controlled the helicopter to rise into the air.

"The future. I took the future of the clan." Lucian answered, looking at the bright sun shining down, as they soared above the wreckage of the orphanage a new beginning. heading towards an unknown future.
