I've Become the King of Villains in the Game

Chapter 360: Finally Gathered Together (2 in 1)

After returning to the vineyard, Chen Lun summoned "Philip's Dreamland Adventure" in his study and entered the initial log cabin in the Crystal Mountain Range.

He straightened his black top hat, picked up the Silver Staff, and pushed open the door.

Once again, the plain made of gray and black rocks appeared before him, with a dim mountain range in the distance, twinkling with strange colors. No vegetation could be seen in that area, just bare and rugged peaks.

The sky was devoid of sun and moon, shrouding the entire environment in a gloomy oppression.

It was a scene that seemed to forbid all life.

Chen Lun could faintly feel, from the depths of that silent mountain range, an oppressive force emanating; his Spiritual Intuition was also warning him, as if to say that the actions to come could be unexpectedly dangerous.

'Philip didn't provide me with the complete Sequence Five Supernatural Knowledge, lacking the last one-sixth. I can't trigger the Promotion Task, leaving me stuck... Coming here to seek it out is the fastest way to gather the Supernatural Knowledge, so I have no choice!'

"Sigh..."

He let out a breath and started walking forward.

After some distance, Chen Lun encountered no danger. Seeing this, he picked up his pace, switching from walking to flying towards the mountain range.

The plain was vast, and he was still some distance from the mountain range. Taking advantage of the travel time, he performed a Divination on the "last one-sixth" of the knowledge, but the result was disappointing, with no indications... Although Chen Lun was prepared, he still felt some disappointment.

This led him to wonder whether it was the violent Energy pervading the mountain range that was shielding or interfering with his Divination or if Philip had taken measures beforehand to keep the knowledge out of his easy reach.

Chen Lun shook his head.

In any case, without a clear target, he could only resort to the most inefficient method—

A grid search.

Finding every hidden log cabin in the Crystal Mountain Range, he would eventually acquire that last one-sixth of the knowledge, though it would be quite time-consuming and exhausting.

'Since that's the case, let's start from the far right...'

Chen Lun thought to himself and adjusted his direction, heading to the right.

About ten minutes later.

He finally entered the area of the mountain range.

After flying low for a distance, Chen Lun finally encountered the first attack. It was a type of animated stone monster, known as "Ernie's Statue."

Its head resembled an elephant's but had the robust body of a human, standing four to five meters tall. Its stone body was also adorned with green moss and blue crystalline substances that all emitted eye-catching lights.

The elephant-headed statue had five pitch-black eyes, its face and large ears irregular and deformed like an abstract art piece, and its trunk was covered with fierce barbs, resembling an iron spiked whip.

Whoosh—

The statue swung its trunk, lashing out at Chen Lun who was suspended in mid-air.

The dull sound of cutting through the air preceded the formidable force of the strike.

Boom!!

Chen Lun, intending to test the opponent's strength, raised his Silver Staff to meet the blow head-on, only to be knocked back tens of meters by that force. Feeling the numbness and sharp pain in the base of his palm, he realized that this contaminated creature's Strength was greater than his own!

Whoosh!

Chen Lun used Blink, appearing directly above the elephant-headed statue's head.

Tossing out several Card Throwing Knives, they rang out as they slashed at its body, creating pits only the size of fingernails and otherwise ineffective.

'Its Strength and defense are quite impressive... But it's somewhat slow and clumsy.'

Chen Lun assessed internally, his gaze intensifying.

He raised his hand again, and between his fingers appeared three Magic Cards: "Diamonds," "Clubs," and "Spade."

Whiz whiz whiz—

Two black and one red streaks of light fell from the sky, striking the elephant-headed statue with a thunderous noise.

When the smoke cleared, the statue was temporarily tangled on the spot by a translucent sticky substance. Chen Lun noticed its left ear had been sliced off and there was a crack in its neck, the body pitted and rough.

'Really tough...'

He muttered to himself.

'But that's about it. It's slightly stronger than the common Sequence Six, but it doesn't pose a threat to me.'

With a rustling sound, the Clubs card's binding did not hold the elephant-headed statue for long, as it broke free with Brute Force. But in the next second, Chen Lun blinked behind it, releasing a "Pale Hand" strike, serpentine punches landing squarely in the middle of its back.

Bang!!

With a loud crash, the upper body of the elephant-headed statue shattered to pieces.

[You have killed the contaminated creature "Ernie's Statue"! Gained 9000 Experience Points!]

It dropped a blue, crystalline piece of extraordinary material, which Chen Lun picked up. The panel showed it was called "Dragon Sharpstone," and the description mentioned it contained unstable Magic Power.

'These stones are somewhat similar to Dragon Sharpstone... I'll take it back for Floey to test.'

Chen Lun thought to himself as he stored it in the Blood Poem Ring.

He then surveyed his surroundings.

He was now at the foot of the far right side of the Crystal Mountain Range, the black rocky ground beneath him smooth and steep, with no clear path in sight. Scanning the area revealed only lifeless ridges and hills.

Similar to the elephant-headed statue encountered earlier, there were many more ahead, scattered on the slopes, misshapen and in varying orientations, numbering in the dozens. It seemed as though they had been there for a long time, covered in moss, with many damaged—missing heads or arms—like the remnants of ruins.
