It’s not that kind of malicious broadcast

Chapter 7

Chapter 7. You Don’t Know? Deal with it.

The version of KoK in the parallel world was similar yet different from the KoK I knew. One of the notable differences among many small changes was that KoK here was still a new game.

The diverse and intriguing patches that had consumed six years of my life, were yet to be realized as mere possibilities here. In other words, even certain overpowered skills… were not nerfed due to not being properly discovered yet.

Using such irrational OP skills in a sacred rank game was impossible. But maybe for the Rogue Revival Movement… it wouldn’t be too bad?

Yeah, it should be fine.

KoK’s underground attack route was designed around the underground dungeon concept. The narrow, winding paths resembled a dimly lit dungeon with limited visibility, and the walls made of damp-feeling stones created a sense of tension as one never knew when traps or monsters might spring out.

Some random elements were incorporated underground.

Of course, there were fixed traps like the one I was aiming for now.

-Boom!-

A huge axe blade hung from the ceiling with iron chains, making a threatening sound as it oscillated back and forth like a pendulum, known as the ‘Axe Blade Trap’.

Fifteen axe blade traps were arranged in three lines in the shape of ‘ㅗ’, leading to the Blue Team, Red Team, and the Treasure Chest room, with five traps each moving at different tempos. As I passed through five consecutive axe blades, footsteps could be heard from the opposite side.

It’s a warrior.

‘Faster than I thought.’

Maybe placing two treasure chests as victory conditions was to guide me towards the treasure chest side. But even so… at this timing, the Warrior is only level 3, no matter how fast he hunted.

“Found you, you bastard.”

Oh, voice chat is on. My heart started to flutter a bit with the thought of receiving praise for my cultivation. As the door was shattered, the Warrior’s giant double-edged axe, which was her signature weapon, came into view.

His trademark as a master warrior – but to be honest, it was just a poorly thought-out build lacking in-game concepts. The Warrior class is known to be the strongest in close combat, with their attack power and movement speed increasing proportionally to the lost health.

However, they have significant delays in various actions, such as pre and post-attack delays, and their defense was weak due to restrictions on wearing armor. Therefore, when using a Warrior, it’s best to equip them with good dual weapons, engage in close combat to lower each other’s health, and utilize their high movement speed to constantly stick to opponents and prevent them from escaping.

In simple terms, the Warrior was a brawler.

Facing an opponent who was so clueless that they would wield a large and heavy two-handed axe, I am confident in coming out victorious in a duel. However, for now, finishing the battle quickly is a priority.

Matching the movements of the axe blade, I stepped to the side and repeatedly hid and revealed my body. I didn’t forget to sit and stand repeatedly to give the feeling of baiting, then I threw a dagger.

– Clang!

As intended, the thrown dagger hit a trap in the middle of the axe blade and fell to the ground without doing any damage.

“What are you doing, idiot?”

With a mocking sneer, the Warrior quickly approached to prevent the retrieval of the dagger. Just as planned, he effortlessly passed through four axe blade traps like a true champion, and, right after the last axe blade trap passed by, he let out a battle cry and charged forward.

This close combat maneuver is a textbook Warrior move, in other words, an easy-to-read maneuver. I took a step to the side, hid my body half behind the axe blade again, then jumped at the right moment, swinging the dagger down from above.

– Clang!

Accompanied by the satisfying sound of sharp metal, 『Gwangjil (Warrior) has been eliminated!』

The kill log appeared.

『Trap → Gwangjil (Warrior)』

* * * *

『???』

『What just happened?』

『Seems like a bug?』

『Didn’t you dodge the axe? Why suddenly a trap?』

『This must be a bug lol』

『Game is a mess~』

『Isn’t it supposed to be invalid?』

『Where’s that in a 1:1 match lol Did they do a pro tournament?』

The chatbox was in chaos.

As the rogue used the respawn time of the warrior to open a treasure chest and obtain rare shoes, heading towards the lich room where the second treasure chest was located, no one knew why the warrior, who had clearly been dodging axes with perfect timing, suddenly died.

Even after getting one death, Lee Honam secretly connected to the broadcast and started the room play without exception.

“This damn game is bugged at times!”

Feeling like wanting to claim it as invalid since he died due to a bug, but it would be fatal to the tough guy image he had built up until now.

“It’s not even recorded as a kill against the opponent. If I start the room play now, there’s no way I’ll lose.”

Glancing at the broadcast screen, Lee Honam was swiftly moving towards the lich room without even properly hunting monsters.

“You think you can finish by getting the second treasure chest? Yeah, right.”

Lee Honam quickly calculated the optimal route without revealing the room play, and moved towards the lich room.

As a result, when Lee Honam entered the lich room, Lee Honam was only about 50 seconds away.

“Even if I try my best with a level 2 rogue, it takes 4 minutes to kill the lich.”

All that was left was to hit the back of the rogue fighting the lich with a large and giant double-bladed axe, and camp near the spawn location pathway, killing him as soon as he respawns.

With the confirmed victory and overflowing praise in mind, Lee Honam, with one side of his lips twisted into a sneer, arrived at the lich room.

『GetDevoured (Rogue) has been defeated!』

『Lich → GetDevoured (Rogue)』

The system log showing the rogue being executed by the lich appeared.

And.

『GetDevoured (Rogue): I concede.』

『???』

『What did I just see?』

『??』

『What just happened?』

『Why didn’t the lich attack?』

『Seems like it was cloaked.』

『That doesn’t make sense, does it?』

『Lolololololol Did we just finish two chests in 4 minutes? What is this… a rogue?』

『What, died after opening the chest?』

『Yeah, died after opening the chest and taking the item lolololol』

『Wait, so you’re saying it was possible to ignore Lich and only take the items? Why don’t the pros steal?』

『Because counting cards is so damn easy; but if you don’t know, you’re definitely gonna get hit. Rich boxes must have a high chance of mythic items.』

Once again, amidst the confused chat,

『User GetDevoured has left the game.』

The rogue who coolly left the game after tossing two items on the spawn area floor as if they were proof of victory.

* * *

Upon waking up in the body of a unfamiliar woman for the first time, I naturally thought I was dreaming. Even now, I still somewhat feel that way.

But if it’s a dream where you don’t wake up, feel hungry when hungry, feel pain when you bump into something – what’s the difference between that and reality?

Around 3 weeks later, I finally accepted that this was reality and started living as usual. The first thing I did was check my identity.

Rummaging through every nook and cranny of the narrow house and searching the computer, the ‘me’ I found out was a university student named Lee Yena, who had just turned 21.

When I logged into the university site, I found out that Lee Yena was majoring in law and was on sick leave even before completing the first semester of her studies.

The reason for the sick leave was answered by crumpled prescriptions for mental health medicine found scattered in desk drawers and several familiar medicine packets.

Surprisingly, Lee Yena even had a KoK ID.

The account under the nickname ‘CravingWarmAmericano’ was playing as a priest and fluctuating between bronze and silver ranks.

I felt a growing sense of sympathy for Lee Yena in my heart. Oh my, she was a priest user. Whether it was the cause or the result of depression, there was definitely a connection.

In any case, thanks to Lee Yena, who was playing KoK with a female user ratio of less than 5%, I realized that where I was living now was some kind of parallel world.

KoK’s popularity was incomparable to the previous world I lived in.

‘The Knight of Knights Forum’ always occupied the top spot for posting rates, and top-tier KoK pro gamers even starred in TV commercials.

Moreover, here, despite having VR rooms in every neighborhood like old PC rooms, they were all doing business thanks to KoK alone.

It may be a new game, but at this point, it seemed like the whole world was under a mass hypnosis.

After all, it would be hard to explain why everyone here also thinks rogues are bad without it being mass hypnosis.

In that sense, shouldn’t I also play a small role in correcting misconceptions?

『Writer: Got Devoured』

『Title: Is Gwangjil Here?』

『Just realized I don’t need that VR room coupon, maybe I should just ask to see someone naked instead.

Oh, but what if this person is a woman?』

– Hahaha, is this person insane?

– Putting on the voice and everything, what are they saying? Haha

– Maybe it’s a girl? Haha

– You crazy person, just wanted to see someone naked…crazy…

– Hey, would Gwangjil snipe if I ask for someone to get naked?

– You’ll get a lawsuit filed against you.

– But how did you do that earlier?

– Rogues always win against warriors (seriously, they do)

– How on earth did you win though? Haha

A slight breeze stirred, igniting the already heated forum into a fiery showdown between me and Gwangjil.

– But if you kill someone in a trap, isn’t that just a bug?

– So what if you win with a kill, does it matter?

– You obtained a box while the person was bugged and dead, isn’t that relevant?;;

– Isn’t forgetting a rich item a bug?

– Actually, that’s even stranger, why didn’t the rich attack?

Some ignorant comments were made, but originally it’s not a bug, it’s a skill. It’s just too OP and got nerfed.

Even if it’s not clear whether it’s still a bug at the current moment, even after giving in a hundred times,

『Writer: ㅇㅇ』

『Title: Rogue… Should I?』

『Writer: Rogue』

『Title: Hello, first Day as a Rogue』

『Writer: God’s Bloodthirst』

『Title: Let’s Go Rogue~ Let’s Go Rogue~ Let’s Go Rogue~』

As the topic quickly shifted to the rogue, it didn’t have much impact on the forum opinions. How long has it been since the word ‘rogue’ dominated the first page like this?

By making such a fuss, eventually everyone will come to know the charm of the rogue.

I smiled satisfactorily, shut down my computer, and threw myself onto the bed.

‘Oh, but……’

I only asked if it was a woman because I didn’t want to get caught for casually mentioning asking someone to get naked. Looking at the comments, I wondered if the forum users were misunderstanding something.

I might have to clarify it someday.

With ‘List of Things to Clarify Later’ in the back of my mind, including ‘Asking for someone to get naked’, I wrapped myself in the warm blanket and drifted off into a pleasant sleep.

Unaware of which direction the fiery energy of the forum would head while I slept.

TL’s Corner:

Okay, so KoK in MC’s current world is still a new game. This partially explains why Rogues’ Stealth skill is overlooked or looked down on. There are not a lot of games, in my knowledge, that stealth is considered bad.

Also, we now know the name of the body the MC occupied.
