Chapter 921: World affairs
[Eon's POV: ]
"I did not think the first topic to be brought up would be about Lakmer's one sided war against the surrounding regions."
I had a stake in that thing, so as the one who supplied a lot of things, mainly all the methods that they were using for this thing, came from me.
My name was hidden under the oath of course, so not even the President of Lakmer or the lord of the house or even Lady Carolina could say anything about it.
But still, the topic that was brought up was how the Lakmer were doing unethical things just to recover from the losses that they had suffered due to the 'Rakshasa' incident that took place there a few months ago.
"People still aren't addressing the problem properly."
They aren't talking about how dangerous the individuals who attacked the city were, they weren't talking about the kind of things that happened there even though they had a lot of information about it and no one was talking about how these individuals were still hiding among so many nations.
But, we did not think this was their fault.
"Thanks to the headmaster's orders, a lot of information was concealed directly. Not many people know what happened there yet, and even the information that they have right now isn't reliable." Rein watched the presentation of the older person closely, listening to everything that they were saying.
"Everyone is expecting to know what happened there."
"Exactly."
Rein knew it as well. But, her attention as she spoke was still on the screen before us.
'The two of us will be the first to disclose everything that had taken place on that day to these powerful people along with a lot more that we will be telling and showing them.'
It took a lot of effort from a lot of people and a great amount of resources to gather everything that we were going to present, so we knew the best how important this was going to be.
That's why seeing the presentation of the person that was aimed only at addressing what Lakmer was doing to 'recover' the losses seemed funny to us.
"Look, the questions are starting now."
The person presenting this topic was someone from the following state to the Lakmer and was a famous journalist.
He was pretty famous even though he was only in his thirties, so this was a special experience for him.
Had this been any other conference, he would have been able to finish his presentation, but sadly, he was unlucky.
"The headmaster will be the first, it seems."
I knew what the headmaster wanted from this conference, as well as how the other presentations were not in his hands.
What he had was the authority and he was not the only one who had the authority.
There were others who also had just as much authority in this conference at the moment as he did, so the overall presentations were not in his hands.
What he could do, though, as the member of this conference, was to not waste any more time than it was needed.
{ "So, mister. According to your understanding…" }
We had not seen it yet. Not many of us had ever seen it actually. But, those who had seen the headmaster being genuinely serious about something, knew exactly what kind of scene they were going to witness in this conference.
{ "Do you really believe this presentation holds any value to this conference?" }
His eyes, those unique glowing eyes that saw much more than what was present in this world were not looking, but glaring at the older person on the stage.
He was seriously asking them if what they were presenting held any value to this whole setting.
And this was much more intimidating than one who might have ever been on that stage might be imagining right now.
"He's going all in, darling."
"I had expected this."
What Lakmer was doing was not affecting the world directly– I had devised the methods that they were using so I had made sure that they knew what they were doing.
They were doing what they wanted from their side.
They had faced a crisis and they were dealing with the aftermath in a way that they wanted. Now, if they were eating away at their neighbours while doing that, then it was the problem of the states surrounding Lakmer.
The rest of the world did not have anything to do with it since ultimately, neither the global economic flow nor the equilibrium of the world was being affected through their action to any noticeable degree.
If anything, their actions were making them work three times more than how much they might be doing without doing what they were doing.
They were working hard, so now, if the surrounding states could not handle themselves, and also did not have any Proof of their direct involvement in unethical acts, there was no need to bring up this topic before the rest of them who had much more important things to deal with.
{ "Thank you for your time and efforts." }
The journalist was a respected individual, but due to the harshness of the headmaster, he had to suffer humiliation before a great audience.
"I think there will be a lot of them like this one."
"I don't think he will give others more time than he did to this person, Eon."
"Haaa…"
He was not beating around the bush anymore.
The first presentation was not the only one that received harsh questions from the headmaster.
The one after that focusing on the activities of the regional market of east– the markets that mom had just entered with <Eon's otherworldly cooking> and a few other names under us, was also dealt with the same harshness.
'She was an economic professional so she knew exactly what she was doing.'
Market was all about the survival of the fittest at the end of the day so if they cannot survive in a naturally growing and changing economy, they were bound to be devoured by their competitors.
"And there goes the third one… you know what, darling. All three of them were connected with you somehow."
The third topic presentation was about the northern continent and the recent internal battles that took place between the northern regions.
"Let's just call it a coincidence."
"Or… we can say you have a hand in a lot of worldly affairs, mister."
Rein knew everything.
She knew how I was the one who supplied all the necessary and unique resources to miss Luna's family for this battle, how I was the one who gave Lakmer the tactics that they were using as well as how I was also the one who Owned half of the businesses that were entering the eastern market right now.
A lot of things were directly connected with me… but I did not think the fourth topic would also be connected to me.
To be specific, I did not think it would outright be about me.
{ "Can you repeat your topic once again, miss." }
The fourth person to present the topics was not someone we were expecting since we knew about her quite well even though we had not met her directly.
{ "Yes, of course. As I said, my topic will be on Axion Heliox Kromet, Son of Miss Nolan Heliox." }
She was the empress of one of the strongest dynasties of the east, and the fact that she was presenting directly meant a lot to this conference and the many people who knew just how much power she held not over a nation, but over an industry and a continent.
{ "The said person, Axion, is a unique individual. So my presentation will be on him." }
The headmaster might not know who chose her for this presentation but whoever it may be, he knew he could not dismiss this person just because her topic was on a person and not a phenomenon or an incident.
'It makes me anxious, but I want to listen to this as well.'
It was not everyday that someone presented a topic on someone, and not some 'thing'.
And if that person was someone whose family had been a member of this conference from even before the headmaster was the headmaster, I know they would not be presenting without concrete facts.
{ "It may take me a while to explain how this one young person now holds enough influence in this world to be 'important' enough to be present in a conference like this, so I wish everyone will listen to me." }
She was requesting them to listen to her as she called some helpers from the side and placed a unique wire like device around her neck.
It was a kind of microphone, and everyone present there seemed to recognize it.
"She seems serious, darling." Rein had an excited smile on her face right now.
"She might just expose you before everyone, hehe."
"Well…"
She was a high ranking, smart and high authority person.
She was also Nova's mom- the pink haired boy that doesn't let her live peacefully in their Energy beast research class- plus, she was strong.
She was not the empress watching over hundreds of thousands of people just because of her succession.
She was the most suited to be in that position. That was the only reason she was there.
{ "Then, I will begin my presentation on possibly the richest person of our future world." }
I had no idea what she was going to talk about, how her topic was going to cover me, or if she was only going to talk with hypothetical speculations.
But just like Rein, I was also pretty excited about this.
'To know what the <Blood empress of Heavenly beasts> thought of me was not a long standing wish of mine.'
But it sure will be something interesting.
So, I looked forward to her presentation with the rest of them.
