Chapter 43: Chapter 43- The Finale

[T/N: This is the FINAL chapter of this book, enjoy!]

As the saying goes, never say never... When the situation had worsened to the point that James had tried to hex him, Harry assumed that things couldn't get any worse, well he was convinced, but the fact was that when that old manipulator saw that that plan had also failed, he decided to carry out what was perhaps the most vile act that a Hogwarts headmaster could do... abuse his power as headmaster to carry out his personal goals.

It happened in November, just a month after the attack that uncovered the truth about the teenager, when the old man, tired of not achieving his goal, decided to carry out such a despicable act for the first and last time in his life.

Taking advantage of a moment when he knew that everyone was too busy to see what he was going to do, he went to where the young apprentice's room was. It was a room he had never been in despite being the Headmaster for so many years. In fact, he had not even known of its existence until a few months ago when the boy had taken over the room.

He knew the young man was inside because Severus had had to leave Hogwarts that morning due to his duties as a spy, and he had not returned yet. So he made use of something that he was only supposed to use in case of extreme urgency, but if this wasn't it, he didn't know what was. He used his power as headmaster of the school to gain access to the room so he could cast a spell on the young man to make him listen to him.

It was, therefore, a surprise to him when Hogwarts did not obey his order, but rather seemed to rebel against the very idea of doing so. His attempts to cajole the castle into doing what he asked were in vain, it did not obey him... and what was worse, it warned the boy of his intentions, who opened the door with wand in hand and flew into a rage.

" Give me just one more reason, Dumbledore." The teenager growled furiously. "I'm fed up with all this persecution."

" My boy, you have to understand…"

" First of all, I'm not your boy, nor will I ever be, and second, I don't have to understand anything. In the eyes of the Ministry, I'm of age and I don't have to obey you. I…"

The next thing he was about to say died on his lips as a mysterious audible signal rang out throughout the ancient building, and the old man apparently knew what was happening, because he paled dramatically.

" We are under attack. One or more people with bad intentions toward the students have penetrated the first barrier of protection." The old man said very seriously. "Voldemort will not wait any longer, he is coming for Hogwarts."

The next few minutes were exceptionally chaotic, as the students, who were scattered throughout the school, had to be quickly gathered and taken to their common rooms, the Professors gathering in order to protect both the students and the school. Then the chimneys of the school did not stop bringing members of the Order of the Phoenix who came to defend the symbol of freedom and security, and not for nothing had it been standing for more than a thousand years and had yet to be conquered by all those Dark Lords who had wanted to take over Hogwarts and had not succeeded.

Harry, for his part, had watched all the preparations with all the calm that the others lacked, it was the calm of those who faced something for which they had prepared their whole life or that they knew was their destiny... He didn't know what was going to happen in the next battle, the fates hadn't allowed it, but he hoped it would come out well, after all he didn't believe that Ginna had gone through all the trouble of teaching him to control his own power, only to die in battle.

Almost lazily, he left the supposedly 'mature' adults and started to walk out towards the school grounds. They could run around like headless chickens, but he wasn't going to allow them to behave like that.

When he was outside, he could see that nothing had changed for the moment, the school grounds were still without any visible Death Eaters, although he knew that they would not take long to arrive, he could feel their auras through the forest, making their way to where years ago they had learned almost everything they knew about magic.

At the same time, he could see that the Order was already ready and was coming towards him. At this rate, the members of the Order would arrive first, but he didn't care, he didn't follow anyone's orders. Besides, there was the small detail that while they would fight the Death Eaters, he would take care of the leader... Voldemort.

"Harry! Why did you go out like that, with no one to protect you? What you've done was very irresponsible! " Lily Potter exclaimed as soon as they left, but a look from the boy made her stop the rest of her speech.

" I must agree with your mother, Mr. Potter, you shouldn't have left like that, without the members of the Order to protect you."

" From my point of view, it has been me who has protected the Order and not the other way around."

At this comment, there were several murmurs about the boy's insolence and ego, to which he replied angrily.

" Let's get this straight, you need me, I don't need you. So I'm not taking orders from anyone, is that clear?"

If Dumbledore thought that now that they were under attack the boy would take his orders, he was rather disappointed, although it is true that he was able to conceal it very well. Of course, those who did not know were the Headmaster's subordinates.

The next thing they knew, and before anyone could say anything else, dozens of men in black hoods and white masks appeared in the woods. It was clear that they knew they were going to be found, because they didn't even flinch at their presence. And not far behind them, Voldemort advanced in all his gruesome glory.

" I should have guessed, Dumbledore, as soon as you noticed us getting through the wards you called all your allies. Although I am quite surprised to see a teenager in your ranks."

" What's wrong? " Harry asked sarcastically before the headmaster could say anything. " Haven't your loyal Death Eaters told you about me? Not even your dear Bellatrix? They found it too embarrassing that they had been defeated by a 'mere' teenager."

" I should assume from your words that you are the white phoenix?"

"Assume what you want, except I was the one who ruined your last few attacks. If you want to kill me for that reason, go ahead."

Voldermot's expression turned stormy at what he correctly assumed was a mockery. And so the battle began, as he furiously launched the first curse at the boy.

What happened next left people stunned, because a rock wall rose from the ground, creating a magnificent barrier against the Unforgivable, who crashed into it and shattered into nothing.

What happened next was the most fantastic display of magic that many had ever seen in their lives… powerful and seemingly extinct magics made for a sight that few of those present would ever be able to forget. For every dark spell that Voldemort threw at him, Harry either rejected it or returned it with a grace and majesty that more than one would like to be able to have at some point in their life.

Despite what might appear, the boy didn't know what he could do to defeat the psychopath in front of him and all he had done was follow his instincts, he hadn't realized what had happened around him, he didn't even notice when the Order and the Death Eaters had started to fight each other or when one of the Death Eaters had turned against his companions, revealing himself to be Snape, the Order's spy and the target (if they caught him) of more than one malicious curse.

Since he moved on instinct, he wasn't surprised when he found himself slowly manipulating the earth around him in such a way that the granite around him concentrated right under the supposed Heir of Slytherin. Or he wasn't surprised until he noticed that it was what he could do to defeat him. Granite was a mineral that least conducted magic, almost considered an insulator, if he wrapped him in granite nothing and no one, not even himself, could free him, defeating him at last. It wouldn't be easy but since he was using the element of earth and not wizard magic, he could do it.

As he continued to distract him with curses and spells, he was so focused on him that when he attacked, it was so fast that he could do almost nothing to avoid it.

Voldemort was enjoying the chaos he was creating with his mere presence, when he suddenly noticed that he was unable to move his feet. He quickly looked down to see if he could undo the curse without much thought, when he saw what appeared to be a granite stone rising from the ground beneath him, enveloping him as if it were a caterpillar's cocoon. In a movement that was almost invisible due to how quickly he did it, he tried to remove the rock that was slowly but inevitably enveloping him.

Frightened, he looked up and saw, to his dismay, that the teenager was wearing a smile full of triumph, and that was when he understood. The boy was the one who was doing it. He waved his wand ready to cast a precise curse, or he tried to, because by that time it was too late and the stone had already caught part of his arms. He could do nothing against what he knew would be his end, because even if his magic allowed him to stay alive, it would only be for a number of years, and then nothing could stop death. Who was going to tell him that his end would come at the hands of a simple teenager.

The people present saw how the stone enveloped the most feared dark wizard of the last three hundred years, and while the Order and the Aurors who had arrived rejoiced and almost celebrated, the Death Eaters looked desperately for ways to escape. The War was over and contrary to their predictions they had not won.

[T/N: PUffff! Voldemort! The most feared! HAAh]

" That's it." Said the boy. "It's finally over."

Epilogue

Time passes much faster for the human mind when we are having fun, it is a proven fact, and that is exactly what happened to the wizarding world. It had already been three years since that day when Voldemort was defeated, three years of peace and reconstruction.

The atmosphere was generally festive, as after twenty five years they could finally enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their family and friends were safe. People were slowly rebuilding a future, but above all learning from the past to prevent such a thing from happening again.

The laws for the protection of magical children were formulated in such a way that the government would ensure that no magical child suffered any kind of abuse, whether by muggle or magical guardians. At the same time, decrees were made to protect and even reintroduce certain pureblood traditions, so that they would not feel threatened by the new blood... or many other measures that would ensure that the same situation that had caused the previous war would not occur again.

Harry, now seventeen, was very proud to say that he had promoted many of those changes, against the more liberal people, like Dumbledore, not understanding how necessary it was for there to be a balance between both sectors, but not only that... at seventeen, he was the youngest potions master in history and his former clandestine business (due to his age and lack of renown) was now much more prosperous, he no longer had to hide to make them and his title of Master Potter, had a strong weight in magical society.

Now, after everything that had happened, he could look back and be proud, he was no longer invisible, but an important member of society. What more could he ask for?
