Infinite Potential System

Chapter 545: I Want This... And This... And That!

Not only was the Superior Calming Liquid available for sale, but the seller was actually offering 3 vials at the same time! They could even be bought out for 450 Spirit Jades! According to the System, this was 45 Spirit Jades above market value, which hurt a little, but William didn't mind.

I heard that these are rarely sold, but here they are on my first visit. I shouldn't waste this chance! William memorized the information related to the Superior Calming Liquid and approached the front desk.

A woman with dark hair and white highlights greeted him with a smile, "Hello! What can we do for you?"

William pointed to the board, "Someone is selling three vials of Superior Calming Liquid. I'd like to buy them out, please."

The woman nodded, "One moment."

A holographic screen appeared in front of her that looked a catalogue identical to the board. The writing was blurry from William's angle, but he could see that there were significantly more items within the holographic compared to the sheets.

"Ah yes, here they are..." An image of the Superior Calming Liquid appeared in front of her, which she turned around so William could see it more clearly. "This is what you were looking for, right?"

"Yes, those three." William replied.

"Great! Are you interested in registering with the Auction House? Normally we charge a ten percent fee along with every buyout, but registered members are only charged five percent."

Ten percent? That would mean I have to pay 495 Spirit Jades if I don't register! William hadn't even bought the Calming Liquid yet, but he was already grieving.

"Is there any downside to registering?" William asked.

The woman responded quickly, as if this question had been asked a thousand times before, "As a registered member of the Auction House, the only downside is that you won't be listed as anonymous when you purchase an auctioned item.

Of course, this information won't be available to the public, though you can never be too careful. If you purchase a truly valuable item that others might desire to steal, the Auction House will offer appropriate security until you have reached a safe location."

William nodded and agreed to register following the woman's explanation. Judging from the price of several other items on the list, the Superior Calming Liquid was only average, so he doubted anyone would go to great lengths to target him for it.

He paid the Auction Hall 473 Spirit Jades in exchange for three vials of what looked like blue slime in person. In one go, almost a third of William's total Spirit Jades was gone. Spending so much money at once still hurt like hell, but a timely System message immediately cheered him up.

So, I get Points for making money, and I get Points for spending money. Awesome! William suddenly felt encouraged to buy more things from the Auction House.

The rush of excitement caused William to relax a little too much, leaving his mental defenses to weaken ever so slightly. In response, the Primordial Soul Devourer Technique pressed against his Sea of Consciousness and made it bow outwards.

Fuck. That's what I get for lowering my guard. William cursed.

He stored the vials within a Space Ring, then returned to the board and looked through the list once more. This time, he was searching for materials related to Ascending his other Talents.

The first things he looked for were the Elemental Deity Shards. Up to now, he had only absorbed an Earth Deity Shard. Within his Ring of Primary Laws was a second Deity Shard belonging to the Fire Element, but he had yet to absorb it.

If he could acquire the rest of the Deity Shards, upgrading his other Magic Affinities would merely be a matter of acquiring enough Points.

Damn, of course they'd be expensive... William frowned as he counted the number of zeros behind a listing of the Deity Blood Shard.

Three. There were three zeros. Not only this, but the Deity Blood Shard and the Deity Light Shard were the only two Deity Shards up for auction. Both were similarly expensive, and William would need to make friends with a couple more Vice Principals before he could afford either one.

Abandoning the thought of using the Auction House to acquire Deity Shards, William moved on to another section of Talents that would hopefully not have nearly as stringent of requirements. He was talking about the Resistance Talents, of course.

If William wanted to merge his Resistance Talents, he needed to Ascend all of them first. Currently there were 27 Resistance Talents, 11 of which were already Ascended. He was almost halfway!

Alright, first one. Hard Frost Feather for the Cold Resistance Talent! William quickly found what he was looking for, 40 of them listed at a buyout value of 52 Spirit Jades.

William only needed one Hard Frost Feather to Ascend his Cold Resistance Talent, but the Auctions were not designed to allow people to buy part of a listing. It was all or nothing, so William would have to store the other 39 until he found a use for them.

He also found 115 Antitoxin Stones up for auction at 90 Spirit Jades, and 2 pieces of Quicksilver Ore for 28 Spirit Jades. In a short period of five minutes, William had already located three items he needed, and in a surplus!

The Tier 10 Stimulant Pill wasn't for Auction, but William had a feeling he could request one from the Alchemists elsewhere in the City. He moved on, finding almost every item by the end of a half-hour period.

William returned to the front desk with a list of the items he wanted to buy, trading in exactly 1100 Spirit Jades for over a dozen sets of materials. Most of the materials were slightly above market price and the taxes were crippling, but he was satisfied nonetheless.

Now all I need is the Stimulant Pill, a Bible blessed by the Great Saintess, a Vial of Superior Holy Water, a Lesser Orb of Destiny, and a Realmic Blueprint. After that, I'll need to go somewhere with dense Chaos Mana so I can upgrade the Unstable Elements Talent.

There wasn't a question of whether or not William had enough Points to upgrade all of the Resistance Talents. Each one only cost one million Potential Points to Ascend, and William had over 1.6 billion Potential Points at the moment.

If he wanted to, he could actually convert one billion Points into a single Ascended Point, though he didn't see a reason why he should.

The woman had William wait several hours before she could acquire all the items he requested, but he didn't mind. He sat in a private room allocated for the transaction, silently digesting the Primordial Soul Devourer Technique's information while he waited.

By the end of the working day, William experienced another wave of Ascended Points as the items were handed to him one by one.
