Infinite Potential System

Chapter 368: Upgrade It All!

Many of the Velos Continent Cultivators didn't know what William was referring to, but the moment they heard "Superior Death Mine", bits of information from hundreds of years ago entered their brains.

"Sir William... You don't mean that Superior Death Mine that is overrun by Soul Formation and Tribulation Transcendence Beasts every few months? It's not that Mine... is it?" one of the Cultivators asked nervously.

William nodded, "Don't worry, I'll have my Companions take care of the Beast Tides whenever they appear. You won't even have to fight." he looked over to Kamei as he spoke.

Seeing the powerful Black Tortoise Hatchling in the background eased the tensions of many Cultivators and they accepted the offer, though they weren't entirely convinced. That said, there were forty of them and they were all at the peak of the World, how could they be afraid?

William passed along their instructions and set them to work at the highest level of the mines where Greater Death Shards appeared first. Once they had been taught how to properly extract the crystals, William asked the Region Leaders to contact him once all the Greater Shards had been retrieved.

Further down the Mines were the Superior Death Shards, but William didn't want to risk losing any valuable Potential Points if the newbies messed up. For now, the Greater Shards would have to do.

Afterwards, William promptly returned to the Dragon Continent. Riyald was still in the human town, while Uri had returned and was resting on the shore while waiting for William to come back. The Dragon Continent had become too dangerous for the old dragon, and it didn't dare to explore too much.

William looked at his System Panel.

POTENTIAL POINTS: 4,882,440

SYSTEM RANK: B (2,981,096PP to next rank)

If I spend most of my Points today, I can upgrade the System and probably earn another Farm Slot. If I'm going to improve my Elements past the limit of this World, I'm going to need to increase my comprehension of them.

William started by spending a million Points to upgrade the Seal Farm to C-Rank, increasing the number of growing fruits from five to twenty-five. With the System Quest requiring ten years of him, William felt this was a suitable limit for now.

System, are there any benefits to upgrading my Element Farms past C-Rank?

-Later upgrades give higher quality Fruits, but you won't be able to use them in your current condition.

William nodded in understanding. So, the upgrades aren't always about quantity...

He scrolled through the System Panel looking for more Talents to raise to the next level.

-Mana Regeneration: SSR (75000PP to next rank)

My Mana Regeneration was never maxed out this entire time?! What am I doing? System, upgrade the Mana Regeneration Talent.

-75000 PP

An ability I can take advantage of even during the Chaos upgrade? This could be very useful! William exclaimed in his mind. He wished he had upgraded the Mana Regeneration Talent sooner since it might have saved him a year or two of his lifespan.

He moved on to more of his supporting Talents, opting to max out as many as possible. First came the Stealth Talent which mostly improved his invisibility capabilities and further reduced his Mana and Spirit Qi fluctuations.

Afterward, he rose all of his remaining Trade Talents to X-Rank, costing a total of 416,875 Potential Points.

His Alchemy rose from SSR to X-Rank, further improving his Pill refinement process by leaps and bounds. No matter what the ingredients were, William could refine all of them into a Pill perfectly, and he could even refine multiple different Pills at once if he had the cauldrons available.

The Tailoring, Sales, and Carpentry Talents all rose from A to X-Rank directly, teaching William many new skilled related to creating new clothing that was both more stylish and durable. The Sales Talent gave insights on how to better bargain with others, and even allowed him to see the monetary value of all gear throughout all regions.

Even though William was on the Dragon Continent now, he could see that his Abyssal Weapon Shifter was actually worth more on the Velos Continent than across the rest of the World.

He even saw that there were two locations other than the Dragon he had yet to explore: the Arcturis Continent and the Slyte Island Nation. The value of his Abyssal Weapon Shifter wasn't great in either Continent, but the value of his Starmetal Bow was insanely high on Arcturis.

With the Carpentry Talent, William learned advanced techniques for creating solid structures that would better withstand the natural Elements. Additionally, he received multiple speed boosts related to carpentry, allowing him to multitask and work as fast as a hundred people as long as his mind could keep up.

His Forging Talent went from S to X-Rank, and his previously D-Rank Cartography was maxed out in an instant. Once the SSR Cooking Talent was raised one more level, William had finished off all the Trade Talents in his System Panel, only spending half a million Potential Points.

William's upgrade spree was interrupted by the usual sound of his Forcefield shattering into pieces. While the Superior Tribulation couldn't normally break through his Forcefield, the repair process was slowed by William's upgrades and the Forcefield eventually shattered on its own.

Let's fix that right now, upgrade the Forcefield Talent to X-Rank.

The System completed the upgrade instantaneously, elevating William's defensive ability with the Forcefield to the Ascension Realm. No matter if it was the Superior Tribulation before he consumed the Ascension Dragon Tears, or if it was Marcus' full-powered attack, William could handle it all with the Forcefield alone.

Next came the Navigation Talent, which expanded its coverage to the majority of the Dragon Continent. This combined with the upgraded Cartography Talent would greatly speed up the rate at which he mapped out the Continent, but he would still need to search for the Superior Cores manually using his Mana Mode Vision.

I haven't had a serious need for these other resistances yet, but I might as well upgrade them for the Elemental Form later anyway. System, upgrade my Heat, Cold, Sleep, Slow, and Charm Resistance Talents to X-Rank.

-251260 PP

Heat Resistance: (SSR --> X)

Effects: Resistance to all forms of heat and their residual effects +4800% >> +9600%

-Heat Absorption: Locked. Upgrade your Fire Affinity to X-Rank.

Next rank up: Requirements Locked. Ascend or upgrade the System to A-Rank to unlock the next Rank.
