In Naruto, the System Asks Me to Entrust Pokémon

Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Finally Evolved

Ryo rolled his eyes at Cynthia before turning his gaze toward Old Feng, looking slightly exasperated.

"Enough with the 'uncle' thing. I'm still young; I'm not ready to be called that yet."

"How can that be?"

Old Feng waved his hand dismissively. "Boss Ryo, we're of the same generation, so of course, my son should call you 'Uncle'!"

Ryo twitched his mouth in annoyance, giving Old Feng a resentful glance. "There's no need for that!"

With a son that big, it wouldn't even be weird if I called him 'Uncle' instead…

Shaking his head, Ryo didn't want to argue any further. He cut off Old Feng before he could continue speaking, his gaze turning skeptical as he looked at the father and son.

No matter how he looked at it, something seemed off.

Old Feng was barely 1.6 meters tall, yet his son was over 2 meters?

This… just didn't seem right.

Ryo was almost tempted to ask about it directly.

"Boss Ryo, he really is my son. No need to guess."

Old Feng had obviously noticed Ryo's expression and rolled his eyes.

"Ahem—"

Feeling a bit awkward, Ryo coughed lightly before quickly changing the topic.

"Uh, Old Feng, you brought your son here to catch a Pokémon, right? You already know the rules. Just take him in directly."

Since Old Feng had already seen through his thoughts, continuing this conversation would only make things more awkward. It was best to get them moving along.

The questions swirling in his mind could wait until they were done. Asking now would only make things weirder.

Hearing Ryo's words, Old Feng quickly took out the payment, grabbed a Poké Ball, and excitedly dragged Feng Tian toward the back.

"Uncle Ryo~"

As soon as they left, Cynthia turned to Ryo, grinning sweetly as she called out to him in a playful tone.

Ryo immediately felt the urge to smack her.

He frowned. "Why are you calling me that?! Just go back to staring at your egg!"

"Tch, no fun."

Cynthia pouted but didn't push it any further, returning her attention to the Pokémon egg.

Meanwhile, in the Land of Hot Springs

On a partially constructed bridge, Kakashi sat nearby, watching as Tazuna and his crew worked hard to build the structure.

"Sensei! I did it! I can climb trees now! Hahaha!"

Naruto's voice suddenly echoed from the side.

Kakashi turned his gaze and saw Naruto standing sideways on a tree trunk, laughing excitedly.

"Idiot. You're the last one to succeed. What's there to be happy about?"

Sasuke, who was standing calmly on the water's surface, rolled his eyes in disdain.

Naruto immediately flared up in anger. "Tch! You arrogant jerk, Sasuke! Come down here, I'm challenging you to a fight!"

Not far from them, Sakura was sitting with a few small Pokémon. Seeing this familiar scene, she could only cover her face in exasperation.

Over the past few days, under Kakashi's special training, this kind of argument had become an everyday occurrence.

She really didn't know what to say anymore.

It was as if these two were naturally at odds.

Sasuke loved provoking Naruto, and Naruto loved challenging Sasuke to fights.

At this point, it was almost like they had developed a strange kind of bond over it.

"Ganē~"

Just then, Sakura noticed that Bulbasaur, sitting beside her, had begun to emit a glowing light.

Her expression changed, and she quickly shouted, "Naruto! Look at your Bulbasaur—it's glowing!"

The moment the words left her mouth, Naruto, who had been fuming just a second ago, instantly froze.

He quickly turned his attention to Bulbasaur.

Seeing his partner enveloped in light, his face became anxious.

He jumped down from the tree and ran over, calling out, "Bulbasaur! Bulbasaur, what's wrong?"

Kakashi and Sasuke also noticed the scene. Their expressions turned serious as they stopped what they were doing and hurried over.

Standing beside Sakura, Naruto grew increasingly worried.

He clenched his fists and was about to rush forward—

But just as he moved, Kakashi reached out and held him back.

"Wait and see."

"But Sensei, Bulbasaur is glowing!"

Kakashi twitched slightly at Naruto's obvious statement but nodded.

"I know. But from the looks of it, this isn't something bad. Let's observe first."

"No… wait."

Sasuke, having activated his Sharingan, frowned slightly.

"Something's changing inside the light."

"Huh?"

Sakura blinked in confusion. "I don't see anything. Are you sure?"

After all, the light completely covered Bulbasaur, making it impossible to see anything clearly.

However, Kakashi's gaze turned thoughtful as he rubbed his chin.

"Could this be what the boss was talking about? Evolution?"

For the past few days, Bulbasaur had been training hard but had shown no signs of improvement.

Kakashi had even started to suspect that the whole 'evolution' thing was a lie.

But after hearing Sasuke's words, something clicked in his mind.

"Evolution?"

The three Genin looked shocked and quickly focused their attention on Bulbasaur.

At that moment, the glowing light on Bulbasaur's body fluctuated.

Its shape began to shift, becoming clearly visible.

"Yeah… this must be it! This is evolution!"

Kakashi's eyes lit up with excitement.

Hearing this, Naruto rubbed his hands together eagerly. "Finally! It's finally evolving!"

He had been feeling restless for days.

Before leaving Konoha, Bulbasaur had already reached Level 15.

Yet despite continuous training over the past few days, its level hadn't changed at all.

How could he not be worried?

Back in Konoha, it had been leveling up almost daily. But now? Nothing for days!

Sakura and Sasuke also watched intently.

Sakura was purely curious, wanting to see what evolution actually looked like.

Sasuke, on the other hand, was deep in thought.

His own Charmander had been stuck at Level 15 as well, showing no signs of progress.

He had been wondering if something was wrong.

After all, neither Kakashi's Pikachu nor Sakura's Chansey had experienced this issue.

Sakura's Chansey had already reached Level 17, and Kakashi's Pikachu… that was even more ridiculous. It was already at Level 18!

But now, seeing this, Sasuke felt a bit relieved.

So this is why…

It wasn't that Bulbasaur wasn't improving—it was because it needed to evolve first.

He hoped that was the case for Charmander too.

Of course, this was just a theory. He wasn't entirely sure yet, which was why he still looked slightly puzzled.

As everyone was lost in their thoughts, the glowing light around Bulbasaur slowly faded.

And as it disappeared, a new Pokémon—one resembling Bulbasaur but noticeably different—stood in its place.

The Pokémon blinked, looked around, then spotted Naruto.

Its eyes lit up with excitement.

"Ivysaur!"

Naruto, stunned for a second, then erupted in joy. "You did it! You evolved!"
