In Another World as a…Bus Driver?

Chapter 159: Chapter 159 - A Magical Pen from Janet

Janet's POV

I was quite thankful and grateful to Russell, Azalea, and the others for helping me against Brygida-san. I didn't know that some people in this world are helpful and supportive of me…

Well, that's the thing I should be thankful for in my life.

Third person POV

So, the day after Brygida was arrested, tried, and imprisoned, the Saint Tadeo Academy staff and headmaster apologized to Janet, Russell, and the others in an auditorium gathering for not noticing Brygida's misdemeanors for a long time and even begged Janet not to resign from the academy, promising to give her any compensation. But Janet eventually stood and said, "It's okay, everyone, you don't have to compensate me. I am okay. And plus, I don't plan to resign or quit because I love my job here. Thanks for everything."

She then did a quick and deep bow.

The headmaster and the faculty staff were relieved to hear that their Renad professor didn't want to quit and even offered her to take Brygida's place as senior professor.

Janet was taken aback by it, thinking that it was a big responsibility.

So, she said that she will take it in the next semester of the year, asking to keep the position vacant and reserve it for her until that time.

Mark and the faculty staff accepted it as whatever she asked them for.

Russell and his party, alongside all of the students in the academy, were happy for her, knowing that she will keep her job and thus, keep the school happy and positive thanks to her.

And then, shortly thereafter, before Russell and his party would leave the city, Janet and a city official informed them that the third Forbidden Fragment of Darkness at the city's Archives Library had gone missing. Russell and his party were shocked.

 "What?"

"The third Forbidden Fragment of Darkness?"

Janet then nodded. "Yes, if you don't know that, the Fragments of Darkness are pieces of an ancient, forbidden stone tablet that sealed the demon lord Malarka. If it was pieced together, it can be used to break the seal that bound him a millennium ago."

"We were afraid that would happen," the city official added solemnly.

Russell then thought and analyzed about Malarka being a demon lord. "Wait, that guy…is he going to do bad stuff?"

Janet and the city official glanced at each other for a bit and then looked back at the May party.

 "Yes, think so," Janet responded.

Because of that, the May party was a bit afraid.

"But don't worry," the city official reassured them, "we'll informed the other places that had the other Fragments before anyone would steal them next. We already received info that the first two Fragments were stolen in Fort Right and Leafmight."

"Woah…I did not notice that at all despite living in Fort Right," responded Russell.

"Me too as well whenever I was in Leafmight, too," Azalea added.

John didn't say anything.

"Ah, okay then," the city official responded back. "But just in case that would happen, which is, the breaking of the seal, we will be fully prepared for any potential invasion by the Northern Territory."

"Yes, don't worry about that, guys," Janet added with some concern on her face.

"Thanks, we will, too," Russell replied back positively, before bowing quickly and slightly.

He looked at his party. "Let's go guys."

But before the party would leave, Janet get something in her purse and gave it to Russell. "Here, you may have this."

Upon seeing that, Russell and his party were stunned, and Russell asked, "Is that a modern plastic pen?"

Janet then nodded. "Yes, this one is from the Renad System's shop. You had that shop and system, right?"

"Oh…um, yeah, I do," replied Russell. "Mine are mostly for bus parts."

"That's great! You may have this pen. It is a token of my gratitude. Don't worry, the ink of this pen will never run out of ink, and, you can pass this to someone else, too, and it doesn't break at all. Besides, I give these to my students and close friends and associates, and these things cost me nothing at all."

Amazed by this, Russell quickly accepted it with happiness and gratefulness. "Thank you so much, Janet-san. I'll keep this safe and put it to good use."

He then said the words thank you so much in Korean, much to Janet's chagrin.

"I learned a bit of Korean in my previous life through K-drama and language learning," Russell positively explained.

Janet now got that and positively responded back, "Oh, okay. That's how."

With that, Russell and his party left the scene while saying goodbye to her and the city official.

As Janet and the city official said their farewells to the May party, Samuel and Daniel came, asking if the May party had left.

"Yes," the city official responded back while he and Janet watched the May party going farther and farther into the distance, "after Janet gave the young man something."

"Wait, was it a pen, right?" Samuel looked at Janet.

Janet then nodded. "Yes. Also, Russell said thank you to you for helping in this plan to expose Brygida's misdeeds."

"Oh…okay, I'll say you're welcome to him next time."

Not long after, Russell and his party went back home to Fort Right to get some rest before Russell went on his usual day-to-day routes as a bus driver.
