Chapter 35: Chapter 35 Time Flies In a Blink Of An Eye
Logan felt quite speechless in his heart, 'You looked like you had been leaning on the pole for a long time. I asked you if something was wrong to go along with your act, but you just ignored it?'
'This is so disrespectful...' Logan muttered as he watched Kakashi turn and leave.
Logan looked thoughtfully in the direction Naruto had left, then glanced back at Kakashi, 'Maybe he is worried about Naruto, and is afraid that I might be a bad guy with ulterior motives... I definitely don't look like a bad guy, come on.'
'On the surface, they pretend not to care, but on the inside, they are prideful Ninjas.' Various figures flashed through Logan's mind, but he shook his head, choosing not to dwell on Kakashi's strange behavior, and decided to head home.
After walking a few steps, something crossed Logan's mind, and he hesitated before turning back to shout, "Hey, Kakashi!"
Kakashi, was almost out of the street, paused when he heard this. He put his hands in his pockets, turned half of his body to the side with a rather aloof air, and his silver hair swayed in the wind.
Ignoring Kakashi's cool indifference, Logan took a deep breath and shouted loudly: "Be careful of..."
'Danzo.' He mouthed the last word silently before turning. After saying that, regardless of Kakashi's reaction, he turned around and left without looking back.
'Hmph, I'll give you a back view too.'
Kakashi narrowed his right eye, pondering the meaning behind Logan's words.
The other party didn't seem to want to give him any extra explanation, and disappeared with a few swift movements. Kakashi stood alone on the sparsely populated street and tried to decipher the meaning of the other party's mouthed word.
This sudden message was puzzling, even absurd, but Kakashi didn't take any further action. He calmly digested the words, just as he did with the challenges life threw at him.
"Raiden Hattori." This name stuck with him.
…
"Sigh, maybe I was a bit too nosy?" After returning home, Logan sat in the yard, rubbing his head in frustration. Once again, he had spoken out of turn in a moment of impulse, saying things he shouldn't have.
As far as he knew, Danzo had attempted to manipulate Kakashi several times, trying to brainwash him into serving him, but he had never succeeded. Kakashi remained loyal to the Third Hokage and steadfast in his role as a Ninja.
In theory, even if Logan had kept silent, the plot would have progressed as usual, and he wouldn't have had to worry... Just like the last time with Itachi's Mangekyo.
"The better your looks, the greater your responsibility." Logan finally ended his internal debate with the shameless remarks, clapped his hands and began his afternoon training.
Logan had gradually felt that the increase in his physical strength was becoming smaller and smaller. No matter how he adjusted his training volume, the result remained the same, so now, Logan usually engaged in only a small amount of exercise to maintain his strength, while most of his energy was devoted to completing the Railgun.
Half a year has passed since he started creating the Railgun, and Logan had become increasingly adept at controlling Lightning Attribute Chakra. The more experiments he conducted, the fewer mistakes he made, made. At least now, he didn't have to run outside the village every time he trained, fearing a small mistake might cause a significant explosion.
Ztt ztt ztt——
The lightning appeared around his arm in an instant, forming a swirling pattern. Logan retraced, overturned, and attempted new pathways he had explored many times before. Although Logan had never succeeded in the past half a year, the gradual progress allowed Logan to confirm that this is a feasible Ninjutsu.
The electric light in the yard flashed from time to time and lasted until evening.
When the morning light shone tomorrow, perhaps the flower buds would bloom. Time flowed in such a way. Logan focused on his life, clear in his goals, understanding that determination was essential in all endeavors.
After being promoted to the captain of the ANBU, Logan's Ninja career didn't undergo much change. While he now had the authority to have more than two teammates, he was accustomed to working alone. And his new teammates were unlikely to be cute girls, so except for special circumstances requiring group action, Logan continued to operate solo.
Teamwork had its own mission model, and working alone had its advantages. Thus, missions, brief rests, training, and then more missions became Logan's routine.
Upon learning that Logan didn't have much of a social life and his emotional spectrum was quite blank... The ANBU had sent Medical-Nin specializing in psychological counseling for preventative measures, to prevent extreme situations that no one wanted to see.
There are many Ninjas in ANBU who have applied to quit under long-term pressure, but Logan's good performance surprised many. The big guys nodded one after another, feeling that he is indeed an excellent successor to the new era of Konoha...
Logan steadily improved, but eventually, conventional training and missions lost their effectiveness in boosting his strength, meaning that he encountered another bottlenecks. However, Logan did not lose heart, as he believed that quantity could lead to a qualitative change.
He visited Aida a few times, who now happily led a Genin Team, enjoying his time pulling weeds and playing with pets.
As for Itachi, since they are in the same department, they had several opportunities to cooperate. However, every time Logan sees him, he noticed that Itachi has changed a lot. He has become deeper and calmer, and he hides his true thoughts more and more. Only when he is alone with Logan did Itachi reveal the awkward smile of his eleven-year-old self.
These changes were slow and profound, making it difficult for Logan to notice. Sometimes, when he looked at Itachi smiling at him, he would think that perhaps he unknowingly changed Itachi.
He hoped that Itachi wouldn't become the cold, resolute man rushing into darkness. However, deep in the recesses of the soul, things might not be that simple. The seeds will eventually sprout and metamorphose, crawling in the mud full of malice, and then continue to grow. Logan, who is busy with missions, will find himself frozen one day.
The direction is already chosen, and a crimson moonlight climbed up the black clouds.
Flowers bloomed and fell, but that was after Logan completed an escort mission that lasted several months. After traveling and sleeping in the open air throughout most of the southeastern of Land of Fire's territory, he returned to Konoha Village, only to suddenly realize that something was amiss with the village's atmosphere.
The streets are still bustling as usual, but there are more patrolling Ninjas.
After reporting back to ANBU, Takeshi smiled and gave Logan a long vacation, though a hint of gloom still lingered between his brows.
There was also a sense of tension among his colleagues. Several months of work outside the village made Logan feel a little out of touch. Puzzled, he discreetly asked a few close acquaintances and learned the reason.
"It seems to be related to the Uchiha Clan..." An unnamed ANBU whispered, seeing Logan's identity as Captain, "Captain Hattori... Keep this strictly within, and don't let it leak."
Nodding, Logan walked out of the ANBU's Headquarters.
'It's the Uchiha Clan...'
Logan's breath was calm and indifferent. He then thought of a young man who should have grown up by now. Without him even realizing it, it's already Konoha's Year 56.
…
A coin was flicked into the air, spinning in circles, reflecting the backlight, shimmering. Logan stared at it, 'It's time to make a decision.'
As the spinning coin remained suspended, it seemed as if some fate was about to be revealed. During the long escort mission, he had used the Railgun.
Perhaps it's a predestined matter, or it might be an opportunity. Logan's gaze pierced through it, as if reliving what happened before.
