I Picked up a Homeless Girl and she is My Ex girlfriend's sister

Chapter 2: If you want me to call you brother-in-law, that costs extra.

In a dark alley, the rain continued to fall heavily.

In front of Maki, a man named Furuhashi Junji stared at her with a nervous smile.

"Uhh… this…" Furuhashi began, scratching the back of his head, "Are you hungry? Would you like me to take you out to eat something?"

Maki, leaning against a wall with her hands in her pockets, looked down at her wet shoes. Her damp clothes highlighted the curves of her slim figure. Her eyes, however, remained cold and disinterested, staring with contempt at the man in front of her.

Maki clicked her tongue, clearly annoyed by the situation.

"…How stupid. I'm here because this alley has an awning to protect me from the rain. And you, idiot, come to interrupt me."

Although her situation made her look like a homeless person, she refused to accept "help" from a suspicious guy like him.

"Five thousand yen. "Would that be enough for you to accompany me?" Furuhashi insisted, not catching the rejection in her words.

Before Maki could respond, a male voice echoed through the alley.

"Fifty thousand yen."

Furuhashi and Maki turned to the newcomer. Haruno had appeared in the middle of the rain, her gaze fixed on Maki, completely ignoring the man.

"What…? Fifty thousand?" Furuhashi stammered, surprised.

"Yes," Haruno confirmed in a firm voice. She then looked directly at Maki and added, "Fifty thousand yen. Is that enough for you to stop being here?"

Furuhashi, seeing that he had no chance against the offer, muttered a complaint under his breath and left the place.

"Wow, he finally took off," Haruno said as she watched the man disappear.

Maki, with an indifferent expression, raised an eyebrow and asked,

"Do you really have fifty thousand yen?" Hey, if you want me to call you brother-in-law, that costs extra."

Haruno looked at her coldly and raised a hand, but Maki showed no fear. She even took a step forward, as if she wanted to challenge him.

"Hit me if you want, but don't go overboard. If you do, I'll consider this a special service within fifty thousand yen."

Haruno sighed and lowered her hand.

"Okay. I'll give you the ten thousand, but on the condition that you return home. Does that seem fair to you?"

Maki remained silent for a moment, but then crossed her arms in a defiant attitude.

"I'm not going back. I'd rather die than return to that house."

Haruno closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to remain patient.

"Then come to my house for now. Don't make this harder on me than it already is."

Maki showed a faint smile, as if she had won the argument.

"Your house, huh?" Well, brother-in-law, that's going to cost extra too…"
