Chapter 181: I Just Want a Single Ending [181]
"Ah, so that's why you explained everything so thoroughly," Nyamu said, finally putting it all together.
"Well, I also wanted to get your input," Saku replied. In terms of cosmetics, she had way more expertise, so he definitely valued her perspective.
"So, the main selling point of your video series is professional reviews and comparisons between high-end and budget brands?" Nyamu confirmed.
"Absolutely." Saku nodded, confident in his plan. Without going into specifics, he hinted that the person handling the evaluations was extremely competent.
"Can you really ensure the reviews will be professional?" Nyamu asked, her expression thoughtful. "If you can, I'd be willing to appear in the video—no fee necessary."
After all, if the reviews weren't up to standard, she'd gain nothing from appearing and might even harm her own credibility.
"We'll talk about compensation later," Saku said, smiling. "Even if you say it's not necessary, I'll still pay you. I do the same for any collaborators, even my friends like Anon."
"As for the professionalism of the reviews, don't worry."
"I plan to post a written version of the review on my Instagram, along with some shorter clips. Full videos will go on YouTube, TikTok, and IGTV."
There was a limit of 60 seconds for Instagram videos, so using IGTV for the full content was essential.
"Are you sure about posting this on your main account?" Nyamu asked, concerned. "With your following, you could easily create a new account just for these reviews and drive traffic there."
If the reviews ended up being subpar, the main account's engagement could take a serious hit.
"My main following is from people who love my snack and store reviews. Starting a new account just to redirect them there? I doubt it would keep their interest." Saku had already considered this, but he was set on using his main account.
"Besides, sponsorships for a smaller account wouldn't bring in nearly as much. I'm not about to settle for a lower rate."
Why take a hit on revenue when his current following was a surefire draw?
"True," Nyamu agreed, smirking. That answer was music to her ears—he was doing it for the money, just like she would.
"And there's also the issue of frequency," Saku continued. "Posting only once or twice a month on a new account wouldn't attract much of an audience. The videos would get more views on my main account."
Besides, he didn't post at all on YouTube or TikTok yet, so anything he posted there would automatically be his main content for those platforms. It just made sense.
"Back to the main point: you say the reviews will be professional—how do you plan to guarantee that?"
"Well," Saku began, "like I said, there's a professional handling the hands-on testing, who'll provide a review report. Plus, I've enlisted a few regular people to try out the products and share their experiences."
"Finally, I plan to rent lab space for some testing or collaborate with a research facility…"
The plans he'd put together were solid, and he went over the details with Nyamu.
"That way, the reviews will be both accurate and credible, building trust with viewers." Saku smiled, reassuring her. "Like I said, I'm not going to risk my account's reputation. You're in good hands."
"If that's your approach, I'm definitely in." Nyamu nodded eagerly.
The way he'd set it up, she could benefit from more than just appearing on his channel with his larger following—it would also lend her an air of expertise.
Most viewers would likely assume she was involved in the testing itself, and they'd be none the wiser about how much of a role she played.
In their minds, she'd be a cosmetics expert, even if all she did was smile for the camera.
Simply put, she'd be making a fortune off this collaboration!
"Thank you, really." With her confirmation, Saku felt reassured that the first episode of the series was going to be a success.
Nyamu, not missing a beat, suggested, "So, aside from me, do you have other people lined up to appear in future episodes? Because I'd be happy to be a regular in this series."
She could imagine the boost in credibility she'd get from recurring appearances, and she wanted every bit of it.
"I do have other friends helping out, though," Saku said, sensing her intentions. He'd already lined up other collaborators, like Anon, for that very reason.
"I see." Nyamu's gaze narrowed a bit. "By the way, what kind of content do your other friends create? I might know them."
"Actually, they're not influencers. They're in a band," Saku clarified.
"Oh, my mistake!" Nyamu's eyes sparkled with satisfaction as she apologized.
If his other collaborators weren't in her niche, her reputation as the 'cosmetics expert' of the series would remain untarnished.
In a comparison between a beauty influencer and a band member on a beauty review, there'd be no contest. Of course, the audience would find her far more credible.
