I Inherit Millions Out Of Nowhere

Chapter 7: The Ultimate Suite Gamble

"When did I say we were getting a standard room?" Brentley suddenly spoke up.

"What? You think it's too expensive and want to back out?" Colby turned his head and asked Brentley.

"We don't get together often, so a standard room is boring. Let's go for the ultimate suite!" Brentley said leisurely.

Colby was stunned by Brentley's words, and the smile on his face froze. The other students in the class were equally shocked.

"Brentley, are you crazy? Do you know the minimum spend for that suite is over ten thousand dollars?" Felicity shouted, her big, watery eyes glaring at Brentley.

"Yeah, Brentley, do you even know the rates at the Prosperity Hotel?" Colby's face turned sour. He never expected Brentley to suggest the ultimate suite. Even the VIP suite was a stretch for him!

The expression on the beautiful manager's face changed too. She hadn't expected the real wealthy one to be Brentley, who was dressed so plainly, and not Colby.

Ophelia looked Brentley up and down, her face full of confusion. She couldn't understand why Brentley, who had always been so frugal, suddenly seemed like a different person.

"Brentley, can you really afford that much money?" Barrett asked, looking at Brentley.

"Of course I can, but I'm worried Colby can't," Brentley replied calmly.

Colby was taken back for a moment, then immediately shouted, "Fine, it's just an ultimate suite, right? I can afford it. If Brentley wants it, then let's get it!"

Colby was completely cornered by the crowd and couldn't admit he didn't have the money, so he gritted his teeth and agreed.

The hotel manager's expression changed instantly when she realized Brentley and his friends were going for the ultimate suite. She quickly led them to the room.

Once inside, everyone looked puzzled. They couldn't understand how Brentley, who had always scraped by collecting scraps, could suddenly be so generous. What they didn't know was that a few thousand dollars for a meal was nothing to the current Brentley Carter.

"Brentley, are you really planning to treat us to dinner here?" Taylor's tone towards Brentley had changed, and her beautiful eyes were constantly sizing him up.

"Of course, order whatever you like," Brentley replied nonchalantly.

Hearing this, everyone eagerly picked up their menus and started ordering without hesitation. During this time, Colby seemed a bit unwilling to back down and boldly ordered a bottle of wine costing over $500. To his surprise, Brentley Carter didn't bat an eye; instead, he ordered ten more bottles!

This meant an additional $5000 spent, and Colby's face turned extremely sour because he knew he didn't have enough money to cover the bill.

"Colby, why do you look so upset? Feeling a bit of regret?" Brentley turned to Colby and asked softly.

"Heh, why would I feel regret? It's just a few thousand dollars, no big deal!" Colby stammered, occasionally glancing at his phone as if he was preparing to ask someone for a loan.

At this point, the classmates didn't care whether Brentley and Colby could settle the bill. After all, they weren't the ones paying. They had already started eating and drinking to their heart's content.

Ophelia sat next to Colby, her expression equally grim. She knew that Colby didn't have enough money to cover today's expenses. Even if Brentley could pay, it would probably cost him everything he had. Was it really worth spending all his money just to save face?

Thinking about this, Ophelia looked at Brentley with even more disdain. She felt that Brentley had no need to compete with someone like Colby, a rich kid. Winning once wouldn't change the fact that Brentley was still a nobody.

After more than two hours, everyone had eaten their fill. The classmates started glancing nervously at Brentley and Colby, worried that they might not have enough money to pay the bill.

The beautiful manager, in her high heels, gracefully walked over to Brentley and Colby. In a soft voice, she said, "Gentlemen, your total for this private room today is $18,000. Will you be paying in cash or by card?"

Eighteen thousand dollars! Everyone gasped in shock upon hearing the amount. No one had expected the meal to be this expensive. Colby stared blankly at the manager. If the total was $18,000, then his share would be $9,000. Colby didn't have that kind of money on him!

Just as everyone was reeling from the shock, Brentley pulled out a credit card from his pocket and handed it to the manager. "Charge it to my card," he said softly.

"Alright... okay!" The manager seemed genuinely surprised by Brentley's generosity. He didn't even blink at the $18,000 bill.

"But I'm only covering half of it. The other half is his responsibility," Brentley added, pointing to Colby just as the manager was about to leave.

Inside the private room, all the classmates stared wide-eyed at Brentley, their expressions filled with shock. They couldn't believe how generous Brentley was, spending over $9,000 without even blinking.

Even Colby was sweating profusely, sitting there not knowing what to do.

"Alright then!" The manager nodded slightly, then looked at Colby and asked softly, "Sir, will you be paying with cash or card?"

Colby's mind went blank upon hearing this. He had known that today's meal would be expensive, and he had secretly borrowed over $3,000 from his friends. But he never expected the bill to be a whopping $9,000!

"Let me... make a call..." Colby stammered, then picked up his phone to make a call.

Before they came out to eat, no one had expected that the one who couldn't pay would be Colby, not Brentley.

The beautiful manager understood that Colby was trying to gather the money, so she didn't say much and turned to walk back to the front desk.

A few minutes later, the manager returned and handed Brentley back his card, and said softly, "Sir, your bill has been settled!"

"Good!" Brentley nodded lightly, then walked straight out of the private room. Whether Colby could pay the bill or how he would manage it was none of Brentley's concern.

Seeing Brentley leave, Graham, Tyree, and Felicity quickly followed him out of the room.

"Brentley, wait up!" Graham called out loudly after leaving the private room.

Brentley turned his head towards Graham and asked with a cheerful smile, "Graham, is there something you need?"

"Hey, Brentley, where did you get all that money? Did breaking up with Ophelia mess you up or something?" Graham asked, frowning in confusion.

"This has nothing to do with Ophelia!" Brentley replied with a laugh, then continued, "I won the lottery a couple of days ago, so I have some extra cash now!"

Brentley didn't want to reveal his true identity to everyone, so he made up an excuse.

"Oh, I see!" Felicity nodded lightly, then frowned and said, "But if you won the lottery, why not use the money to buy yourself some nice clothes or do something more meaningful? Spending it on treating everyone to dinner seems like a waste..."

"I didn't really think it through!" Brentley said with a chuckle.

"No wonder you could afford to treat us to a place like this!" Tyree remarked softly.

"Do you guys need anything else? If not, I'll head home now!" Brentley asked quietly, worried that if he continued talking, he might slip up.

"By the way, Brentley, what's your WeChat ID? Our class has a group chat, and you're the only one missing. Let me add you," Felicity said as she pulled out the latest iPhone from her pocket.
