I Inherit Millions Out Of Nowhere

Chapter 13: Desperation

"Why should I help you?" Brentley asked.

"You..."

Farrah was stunned by his question. Biting her red lips, she said softly, "Brentley, didn't you just break up with Ophelia? If you help me today, I'll be your girlfriend. You know, I've never dated anyone before, and I'm not any less attractive than Ophelia..."

"You want to be my girlfriend?"

Brentley couldn't help but chuckle. Then, with a blank expression, he said, "Do you think you're qualified?"

"Brentley, aren't you being a bit too much? Just because you won the lottery, you think I'm not good enough for you?" Farrah shouted, clearly agitated.

"Alright, I don't have time to argue with you. Here's the deal: I can come and save you right now, but I have one condition. Tonight, you come with me to a hotel, and you do whatever I ask. How about that?" Brentley said slowly.

Farrah's face turned crimson as she held her phone. She never expected Brentley to make such a demand.

"I'll give you one minute to decide. Yes or no," Brentley said softly.

Farrah couldn't help but glance at the guy with the yellow hair. She had to choose between him and Brentley. Although Brentley was a bit poor, he was decent-looking, and it was just one night. If she ended up with the guy with the yellow hair, who knows what could happen?

After a moment of consideration, she gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, I agree."

Hearing this, Brentley hung up the phone. He felt a bit melancholic. Farrah, who once looked down on him, was now willing to go to a hotel with him just for four thousand dollars.

Sometimes, money really can change a lot of things.

In the private Kareoke room, Taylor watched anxiously as Farrah finished her call with Brentley. She quickly asked, "Farrah, what did Brentley say? Is he willing to lend us the money or not?"

"Brentley agreed..." Farrah replied softly, her mind still echoing with the words Brentley had spoken earlier.

Farrah never imagined she would find herself in a position where she had to ask Brentley for help. To her shock, Brentley's condition for lending the money was to spend a night with her. Farrah found it impossible to accept the idea of such a relationship with him.

However, if she couldn't come up with the $4,000, her fate might be far worse than spending a night with Brentley. So, she had no choice but to accept the reality.

"I didn't expect Brentley to have a shred of decency. I can't believe he's actually willing to lend us the money!" Taylor's mood visibly improved upon hearing the news, and she spoke in a lighter tone.

Farrah frowned slightly, turning to look at Taylor with a blank expression. "I'm the one borrowing this money for you. You need to pay me back when you have the money."

"Isn't Brentley lending the money to both of us?" Taylor protested, sounding somewhat displeased.

After all, if Brentley was lending her the money, she could always use her charm to get out of repaying him. Taylor believed she had the ability for handling guys like Brentley.

"Brentley's condition for lending the money is that I spend a night with him. If you can take my place for that night, I'll repay you the money," Farrah said, biting her red lips and speaking in a low voice.

Taylor froze in place upon hearing Farrah's words, her face filled with disbelief. She stared at Farrah with wide, watery eyes and exclaimed, "Farrah, are you out of your mind? You're actually going to sleep with Brentley for forty thousand dollars?"

"Do you have any other ideas besides agreeing to Brentley's demands? And honestly, sleeping with him is better than sleeping with someone like Jaxson Jordan, right?" Farrah retorted with a cold sneer.

Taylor sat there, dumbfounded, unsure of what to say.

"You can't tell anyone about this, or I'll spill all your secrets to the whole class!" Farrah warned when she saw Taylor's silence.

"You... you don't have to worry. I won't say a word!" Taylor quickly promised.

Meanwhile, Jaxson, who was sitting on the couch, seemed to be growing impatient. He shouted with a scowl, "What's going on with you two? Is anyone coming to pay up, or do I have to get rough?"

"My friend is on his way!" Farrah's eyes flashed with fear as she hurriedly responded to Jaxson's threat.

"I'll give you half an hour. I don't have time to waste!" Jaxson shouted impatiently.

Farrah bit her lip gently, remaining silent.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

At that moment, a series of knocks suddenly echoed through the room.

"Come in!" Simeon called out, his face expressionless.

Brentley pushed the door open and walked into the private room. Farrah and Taylor's eyes sparkled with excitement when they saw him.

"I'm here to pay the ransom," Brentley said, glancing at Farrah and Taylor with a blank expression.

"Did you bring the money?" Simeon asked calmly, not even bothering to look at Brentley as he sat on the sofa.

Brentley placed a plastic bag on the coffee table and continued, "There's four thousand dollars in here. Can I take them now?"

Jaxson quickly opened the plastic bag upon hearing this. After checking the contents, he walked over to Brentley with a sneer, sizing him up disdainfully.

"Who would've thought that a guy dressed in rags like you could come up with four thousand all at once?" Jaxson said, baring his teeth.

"Whether I have money or not has nothing to do with what I wear," Brentley replied calmly.

"You're right about that," Jaxson nodded slightly, then suddenly seemed to remember something. He frowned and said, "Wait a minute, aren't you the guy who collects bottles at Sunshine City University?"

"Brother Jaxson, it's this kid. I've seen him at school a few times!" one of Jaxson Jordan's lackeys quickly said.

"Hahaha, no wonder he looks familiar. Tell me, how many bottles do you have to collect to get four thousand bucks? You barely eat or wear decent clothes, and you think these two girls are worth it?" Jaxson Jordan sneered at Brentley.

"Hahaha..."

"Yeah, I heard this kid got dumped recently. He spent over a year collecting bottles just to spend all his money on that girl, and she ran off with some rich guy in the end!"

"The rich guy even took his girlfriend to a hotel and made this kid buy them condoms. I've never heard of anything like it. This guy is the ultimate loser!"

"Hahaha... This kid is such a joke! He lives like this and still brings four thousand bucks to save someone. It's killing me with laughter..."

Jaxson burst into laughter upon hearing these remarks, and the others joined in.

Brentley stood there, facing the laughter with a calm expression, not uttering a single word in retort. To the others, this appeared as a sign of his helplessness.

Taylor and Farrah looked at Brentley with disdain. They had never seen a guy whose dignity was trampled on so thoroughly without showing any anger. To them, he was the epitome of pathetic.

They now understood a harsh truth: even if Brentley won the lottery and had money, he would still be a poor loser in their eyes.

Farrah began to feel a tinge of regret. She thought that sleeping with someone like Brentley was a stain on her life. She even felt that sleeping with Jaxson would be better than with Brentley.

"Have you laughed enough?"

Brentley suddenly lifted his head to look at Jaxson.
