I Have a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon System in a World with Pokemon

Chapter 101: Return

"You two were amazing!"

After getting back to the lounge, Dawn was at Dante and Focalor's front in an instant. The girl had stars in her eyes, especially when looking at Pikachu on Dante's shoulder.

"Hey Dante, how could you train such a cute Pokemon to be so strong?"

"Hm, you wanna know? It's super secret~"

"Oh no. Here we go again."

Focalors covered her face in exasperation after seeing the familiar smirk on Dante's face.

"Hahaha, never mind. It's because my Pikachu is special. Of course, there's also the Light Ball. You can search it up, it's an exclusive item for Pikachu which can double their attack."

"I see!"

Dawn's face lit up and she nodded in understanding.

"Congratulations also. Of course, I never had any doubts that you two would lose."

Furina walked over with a smile, getting closer and giving her sister a big hug. Dante smiled after seeing this, and then, as if he thought of something, turned to Dawn.

"By the way, do you have any news regarding Shinobu and Mualani's match? We weren't able to get any signal down there."

"Yeah! They sent a message in the group chat. We also watched their game while the arena here was being repaired. Both of them also won!"

Dawn took out her phone and tapped it a few times before showing it to Dante. There, he saw an image of Shinobu and Mualani side-by-side while holding the Grass Badge.

"Huh, neat. Hey Focalors, let's take a picture with our badges too!"

Focalors turned her head after hearing Dante. After his explanation, she smiled and nodded in agreement.

So with the Phlogiston-filled wall as their background, Dante and Focalors stood next to each other while holding the Earth Badge. Pikachu was posing on Dante's right shoulder, while Dragonair was curled around Focalors'. Meanwhile, Azumarill was standing between them, holding Teddiursa in his arms.

"Alright. 1, 2, 3, say cheese!"

"Cheese!"

Furina, who is in charge of taking the pictures, nodded in satisfaction after seeing the result.

"By the way, Sister Mualani also said we would celebrate at her mansion tonight. They've already started to shop for all the things we need."

"Oh yeah~ she's the rank 1 in the Trainer Course and got a mansion as a dorm. Let's go then, it'll take us another hour to go back to Manila."

"Wait! Let's take another picture with all of us first!"

After taking another photo with all four of them, their group finally exited the Gym. However, as soon as they arrived outside, they saw many people holding cameras and microphones waiting for them.

"Mr. Dante! What do you feel after winning your second Gym Badge?"

"People have been calling you the strongest newcomer, how do you feel about that title?"

"Oh my god! The girl who looked like Focalors must be Lady Furina! Lady Furina, please lend us just a moment of your time for an interview!"

Even though Furina and Focalors were wearing disguises, after Focalors' name was indicated as the Gym Challenger, it was enough for everyone to put the pieces together. This is especially true since the media already knew the two sisters were currently in the Philippines.

If it weren't for the guards with their Golem and Rhydon, the reporters would have rushed their group by now. But even so, it looked like the two were struggling to hold them back without causing any injuries.

Dante walked in front of Furina, shielding her while at the same time quietly whispering to the three.

"Unless you want to stay here until midnight, release Tropius and Altaria now. I'll try to divert their attention. Just get ready to take off at any time."

Then, without waiting for the three to respond, Dante walked forward. His face had a confident smile as he turned to the reporter who asked the first question.

"What do I feel after winning my second Gym Badge? Of course, I feel happy! After all, it's one step closer to being able to participate in the National Tournament next year."

When the reporters saw Dante stepping up and answering the question, they subconsciously focused their attention on him. Dante had to try his best not to close his eyes from all the camera flashes.

"Mr. Dante! Is the Teddiursa in your arms your third Pokemon?"

"Yes, Teddiursa is my third Pokemon."

"What are your goals for the future, Mr. Dante? People around the country have been saying you have the qualifications to enter the Elite Four. What can you say about that?"

"My goal is to become the strongest Pokemon Trainer. Elite Four? My aim is to at least become the Champion of the Philippines!"

After hearing Dante's answer, cameras began to flash, and the reporter's faces lit up with excitement. This is a big scoop! Already, various titles for this interview were popping up in their minds.

"Mr. Dante! Mr. Dante! Many people online are expressing disbelief about the strength of your Pikachu. Can you shed some light upon us regarding this mystery?"

"Oh? You wanna know the secret to Pikachu's strength? Quiet down, then."

Dante smirked. However, when the reporters heard his words, they all began to clamor instead. Only after they saw Dante not budging did they try their best to remain silent. Seeing this, Dante nodded in satisfaction.

"The secret to Pikachu's strength…"

Dante solemnly looked around, his voice becoming deeper.

"The secret to Pikachu's strength…is because he eats his vegetables."

The surroundings fell silent as they heard Dante's answer. On his shoulders, even Pikachu covered his face in embarrassment.

"*Sigh* Come on, Dan. Let's get out of here."

Focalors voice came from behind. At some point, the girls had already climbed to their rented Pokemon.

"It's nice talking to you, everyone. See you again probably at the next Gym Challenge."

Dante waved goodbye before he climbed onto Tropius' back by running on one of the leaf wings he put on the ground. With a cry, Tropius and Altaria flew into the sky under the disappointed gazes of the reporters.

"Do you want to chase them?"

On the side of the mountain, Mavuika and Xilonen stood watching the two Pokemon getting further and further away. After some thought, Mavuika shook her head in disagreement with Xilonen's question.

"Nevermind. With his strength, we'll definitely meet again in the future."

"Up to you then *yawnn* I'll go catch up on some sleep. I'll give you a call whenever your order is ready."

As Xilonen began to walk back to her forge, Mavuika hurriedly caught up to her.

"I'm still not certain how the design will look or whether it will fit Hine. Do you think…"

A tired sigh echoed in the mountains as the redhead pestered her friend.

Sitting in his office, Neuvillette smiled as he finished watching something on his laptop. Just now, Furina had sent him a message saying that Focalors had completed her first Gym Challenge. After reading it, he immediately stopped all his work and went to the Alliance homepage.

As a father, he would have preferred to be by his daughter's side as they go through a special milestone in life. However, being able to silently watch over their progress is also special in its own right.

"Hmm, it seems Focalors had grown stronger from the last time we had a sparring session."

He nodded in pride and satisfaction when he saw how his daughter strategically used Protect to turn the tide of the battle.

As he was thinking about what to send as a congratulatory gift, he saw a video next to her daughter's. On the thumbnail, there was the familiar teenager who had given him his most recent taste of defeat.

He clicked on it, his expression turning serious as he watched the Pikachu instantly defeat the Hippowdon. Seeing this reminded him of their battle with his Dragonite. He already learned from his daughters that Pikachu's attack was so high due to an exclusive item.

However, when the next battle against the Sandslash began, his eyes widened in astonishment.

Pikachu being able to use Rain Dance, while amazing, isn't really that special. After all, as someone who has stood at the pinnacle of the world, he had encountered various talented Pokemon raised by Elite Trainers.

No, the reason for his shock was on how Pikachu was able to calmly ignore the Earthquake from Sandslash. Is his Pikachu's defenses also so much stronger? Or…is his Pikachu immune to Ground-type?

Neuvillette remembered the Crystal Onix being kept in captivity for breeding by the Alliance. Unlike normal Onix, this particular type of Onix has mutated to have no weakness to Water-type. Could Dante's Pikachu also be a mutation?

In the Philippines, countless Trainers who also watched this battle were confused. Countless debates were going on in the Pokenet as to how a Pikachu could become so strong.

Among them, some people also brought up the Light Ball. But it didn't explain how Pikachu can survive a head-on Earthquake from a Sandslash.

The answer remained a mystery, and so the people continued to talk about it. As for the protagonist of their talk?

"Hey, Shinobu! Congrats on winning!"

With a swoop, Dante hugged his unsuspecting girlfriend from behind.

After more than an hour of flight, Dante and the others finally returned to the University.

"H-hey, Dan! Don't hug me here…"

Shinobu blushed as she saw the teasing smile on Mualani and Candice who she had been talking to. Traitors the two of them! They must have clearly seen Dante creeping up behind her!

At this time, Furina and the others also caught up with Dante. When Focalors saw the scene in the living room, a sour feeling rose in her heart.
