I Can Recognize Everything, But the Information is Wrong

Chapter 108 - Refining the Heart Inquiry Pill

The three brothers leaned on each other in front of the dilapidated temple and waited for a full quarter of an hour before seeing the man in white return.

He carried a sword in his hand but the sight of Wang Er was nowhere to be found.

With the aid of Disciple Jiang, Tian Lin forced himself to stand up and said, "Brother, you must be a Senior Brother from the Heart Inquiry Sect."

The man in white bowed his head and hummed a response.

Tian Lin frowned and asked him, "Senior Brother just went to chase after Wang Er, what happened to him?"

The man in white thought for a moment before saying, "He escaped. My movement technique was no match for him."

Upon hearing this, Tian Lin lamented, "These people coming to the north must be aiming to harm the sect. If we could have kept him alive, we could have extracted many secrets from him."

But the man in white did not continue the conversation, instead, he bent down and began searching the possessions on Han Sanniang's body.

Tian Lin frowned and Disciple Jiang couldn't help but also give Tian Lin a concerned look.

Seeing this, Tian Lin coughed repeatedly, barely managing to spit out some phlegm.

The man in white, hearing Tian Lin coughing severely, finally raised his head with his attractive eyebrows knitted together.

He still held a silver needle in his hand and said to Tian Lin, "To neutralize this poison, it will take me two to three days to prepare the antidote."

Only then did Tian Lin realize that he was searching Han Sanniang's possessions for an antidote.

Reassured, he knew that although this disciple of the Heart Inquiry Sect was solitary, he was not beyond communication.

"I have just taken a secret medicine of our sect, it will temporarily keep me safe."

After saying this, Tian Lin pointed to Brother Zhao next to him:

"My personal safety is not a concern, but please, Senior Brother, take a look at my fellow disciple. If his life can be saved, then my death is of no consequence."

The man in white then turned his gaze toward Brother Zhao sitting against the trunk of a tree.

Originally, Brother Zhao, though not stunningly handsome, was a fine gentleman with an impressive demeanor.

But now, he resembled an old man close to death, entirely devoid of color and as frail as a withered tree.

"Senior Brother, I—"

Brother Zhao, unaware of the act Tian Lin was putting on, felt a genuine respect for his controlling peers from Yao Yue Sect compared to Disciple Jiang.

"His life is not in great danger, but his channels are disordered. It will be difficult for him to make progress in cultivation in the future."

Seizing the opportunity, Tian Lin said, "I heard that the Heart Inquiry Sect has miraculous techniques of rejuvenation, I wonder—"

"Impossible!"

The man in white immediately turned around, saying:

"Your Yao Yue Sect now cultivates the Blood True Qi, I spared you because you are disciples in white, but it's absolutely impossible for you to join our sect."

Tian Lin fell silent, thinking about his next move with a frown on his face.

The man in white's tone softened: "But you saved my life, I will cure your poison."

It was Tian Lin who earlier shielded him from the silver needle, otherwise, it would have been the man in white who was poisoned.

Even he, the man in white, couldn't be sure of surviving the poison since he didn't have any of Yao Yue Sect's 'secret medicine' to suppress the toxicity.

"Maybe this is indeed an impossible request, but the disciple is someone I brought out from the sect, how could I stand by and watch his cultivation foundation be destroyed?"

Unable to squeeze out any tears, Tian Lin turned his head away.

This touched Brother Zhao immensely, who couldn't see Tian Lin's expression.

Having 'died' once before, and hearing Tian Lin speak, he said with a weak voice:

"Senior Brother, don't plead with him for me. My hope of establishing the foundation is gone, and I refuse to consume the Blood Pill to achieve foundation establishment cultivation. As long as I can survive, this injury means nothing to me."

The man in white frowned and after giving the three of them a glance said, "I know where you live. Once the antidote is ready, I'll come to find you."

After saying this, he picked up some corpses from the ground and ran away.

Watching his disappearing figure, Tian Lin frowned, and Disciple Jiang couldn't help but curse:

"Goddamnit, we also had a share in killing those Blood Sect Devotees, yet he took them all by himself."

Tian Lin, worried that the man in white had not left far and could hear Disciple Jiang's words, thus scolded him louder:

"We belong to a Righteous sect, killing Blood Sect Devotees is not for claiming merit, what difference does it make whose hands the bodies end up in?"

Now Disciple Jiang was especially afraid of Tian Lin, and immediately shut his mouth and did not speak.

Tian Lin said, "Stop dragging me into this, you go ahead and take Brother Zhao back to the inn first."

Brother Zhao was still very annoyed with Disciple Jiang, and seeing Disciple Jiang trying to carry him, he said angrily: "Let go, let me get up by myself."

But at this moment, Disciple Jiang was not afraid of Brother Zhao, he picked up Brother Zhao around the waist, closely following the limping Tian Lin.

The three returned to the inn, Tian Lin also appearing quite weak.

There, Brother Zhao, lying on the bed, asked Tian Lin: "Brother Tian, when did you also cultivate the Dragon Elephant Divine Skill to the Perfect Realm?"

Tian Lin regained his composure; he had been consuming the Dragon Elephant Body Refining Pills for quite some time already, and was already not far from breaking through to the Perfect Realm.

Last night, he had chewed on Grass God Fish jerky all night, and by morning had already broken through the Dragon Elephant Divine Skill.

Were it not for the breakthrough in his skill, Tian Lin would not have risked leaving the small town to ambush others.

"I also broke through not long ago."

Tian Lin casually remarked, but Brother Zhao continued asking him:

"Is Dao Seeking Mountain really that amazing? Is cultivating there really faster than usual?"

Tian Lin thought for a moment and said, "Not to mention Dao Seeking Mountain's innate ability to refine one's True Qi, just the experiences fighting in those illusions can elevate one's life-threatening combat experience."

Brother Zhao suddenly realized and said,

"No wonder Brother stays on Dao Seeking Mountain all the time, how laughable that initially we ridiculed you for your delusions of becoming an Inner Sect Disciple. In hindsight, it turns out we were just sparrows unaware of the aspirations of the swan."

After finishing his words, he couldn't help a violent bout of coughing.

Tian Lin suddenly asked him: "What do you think about that Disciple from Heart Inquiry Sect?"

Although that Disciple from Heart Inquiry Sect was unwilling to bring Brother Zhao into the sect for treatment, Brother Zhao did not hate him.

If it were not for his final appearance, Tian Lin and the others would certainly not have been a match for Hall Master Qian and his group.

Thus, while it was an act of grace that Tian Lin saved the other, wasn't it also an act of grace that the other saved Tian Lin and his group?

"I think that Brother speaks very little, and I don't know if it's because he cultivates the Heart Inquiry Skill, which is why he never looks people in the eye when talking to them."

"It's not surprising; the disciples of Heart Inquiry Sect are naturally introverted, hence they aren't good at socializing. The more enthusiastic Brother Tian acts towards him, the more uncomfortable he becomes."

Disciple Jiang entered the room from outside, this time not the waiter but himself handling the task of serving dishes.

He carefully set each dish on the table, then flatteringly said to Tian Lin:

"Brother Tian, I know you love dried fish. It's just unfortunate that we don't have Grass God Fish here; I could only find some local dishes to make do."

Tian Lin looked at the strangely shaped dishes on the table and couldn't help frowning.

He ate Grass God Fish jerky out of necessity, not because he actually liked that kind of salty, stinky fare.

Moreover, although Grass God Fish jerky might smell foul to others, it was actually Dragon Elephant Body Refining Pill, emanating a distinctive odor that wasn't unpleasant.

Looking at the table full of dishes, Tian Lin waved his hand and said,

"I appreciate the kind sentiment, Brother, but I'm injured and feeling unwell, and don't have much of an appetite right now. Let Brother Zhao have these dishes."

At that moment, Brother Zhao was still lying on the bed; his face changed as he said, "Jiang, what are you doing?"

While the two argued inside the room, Tian Lin returned to his own room.

His room was equipped with pottery jugs and other utensils bought by the waiter.

Tian Lin looked around, ensuring that there likely wasn't anyone watching, then he slapped his Storage Bag and took out the medicinal herbs brought by Brother Zhao and Disciple Jiang.

Heart Inquiry Pill wasn't a Spirit Pill and shouldn't be too difficult to refine.

Tian Lin decided to try his hand at it to see if he could successfully refine a Heart Inquiry Pill.
