I Can Evolve Infinitely In Marvel!!

Chapter 5: Chapter 4: What Race Are You?

Two days passed swiftly.

At precisely one o'clock in the afternoon, Harvey donned a dark cloak, the fabric draping over him as an unnatural chill radiated outward, lowering the ambient temperature around him.

Disguised in his grim persona, he left his estate without a trace, the eerie aura of death lingering in his wake as he headed for the rendezvous point specified in the contract. This time, there was no need for a car or jet—his godlike presence traveled silently, cloaked in shadows, to his destination.

In under an hour, Harvey arrived at the designated location, a nondescript building that emanated tension. His heightened senses detected three distinct life signatures inside. Surrounding the perimeter were others—dressed inconspicuously in suits and ties, they appeared to be typical office workers. But their life energy betrayed them. These weren't ordinary people. Their physical prowess and vitality suggested training or enhancement far beyond that of civilians.

"Agents," Harvey surmised, his cold eyes scanning the area. Whether they were from a federal organization, mercenary group, or Nick Fury's Strategic Homeland Defense and Logistics Division, their purpose was irrelevant. If they posed no threat, he wouldn't bother with them. But if they did…

With a silent leap, Harvey ascended to the sixth floor. Passing effortlessly through a window, his cloaked figure landed soundlessly in the middle of the room. The trio of Nick Fury, Phil Coulson, and Natasha Romanoff turned sharply to face him.

"What exactly do you want from me?" Harvey's cold voice echoed through the room, sharp as a blade.

Natasha's instincts took over, her hand flying to her holstered firearm. Coulson, equally on edge, mirrored the movement, while Fury's singular eye narrowed in focused caution. The figure standing before them embodied every nightmare they'd imagined—a towering presence cloaked in black, exuding an aura that seemed to drain warmth from the air itself.

Natasha hesitated for a moment, then leveled her weapon, though her pulse quickened. The tension in the room was suffocating.

"Mr. Death," Fury began, raising his hands slightly to de-escalate the situation. His voice was calm, yet firm. "I'm Nick Fury. I contacted you on the dark web. Do you mind if we sit and talk?"

Harvey didn't respond verbally. Instead, with a single fluid movement, he crossed the room and seated himself on the sofa, his imposing form commanding their attention.

"This is the first and only warning I will give," Harvey stated coldly. "Pointing a weapon at me once is forgivable. Do it again, and I will consider it an act of hostility. Treat me as an enemy, and you will face the consequences."

Natasha and Coulson exchanged uneasy glances, beads of sweat forming on their foreheads. The calm menace in Harvey's voice made it clear he wasn't bluffing.

Fury gestured for Natasha to lower her weapon. "We mean no harm," he said smoothly, his hands still raised. "Let's talk. We're here in good faith."

Harvey's cold gaze remained fixed on Fury, but he leaned back slightly, gesturing toward the stack of cash Coulson had just placed on the table.

"Ten million dollars upfront. That's the cost of my time," Harvey said flatly. "I trust you've prepared it?"

"Of course," Fury replied, motioning toward the open cases of money. "We're professionals."

Satisfied, Harvey nodded. "Then speak."

Fury sat down across from him, lowering his hands cautiously. "Mr. Death, I represent the Strategic Homeland Defense and Logistics Division, though we often go by S.H.I.E.L.D. for simplicity."

"S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Harvey repeated, his tone laced with faint amusement. "That's more manageable. Go on."

Fury shifted slightly, locking eyes with Harvey. "You're powerful, more than most. But even someone like you can't be aware of everything happening in the world—or the universe. The reason I've contacted you is simple: Earth faces threats that most can't begin to comprehend. Threats from beyond our stars."

He leaned forward, his voice steady but serious. "We've had encounters before. Aliens. One such event nearly destroyed this planet. We only survived thanks to someone with extraordinary power—Captain Marvel."

Harvey listened silently, his expression unreadable. Fury paused, gauging his reaction. When none came, he continued.

"These threats aren't theoretical. They're real. And they're coming. We need people like you—people who can fight the battles ordinary humans can't."

"So, you're here to recruit me," Harvey said flatly. "You believe I have powers beyond your comprehension and want me on your side. Is that right?"

"Yes," Fury admitted. "But not just for us—for the survival of humanity."

Harvey leaned forward slightly, his shadow stretching across the room. "Your world isn't as mysterious as you think. Aliens, advanced technology, superhumans—none of it surprises me."

Fury frowned. "Then tell me this—what are you? Human? Alien? Something else?"

The question hung in the air, and for the first time, Harvey hesitated. He considered his nature, his origins.

Was he human, as he had been in his previous life? Or had the Void System transformed him into something else entirely? Something… otherworldly?

The room grew quieter still, the weight of the moment pressing down on everyone present. Natasha's hand hovered near her sidearm, her instincts on high alert. Coulson, though outwardly calm, watched intently, his fingers twitching slightly.

Finally, Harvey spoke, his voice cold and detached. "I am what I need to be. Human? Alien? Call me what you like. It doesn't change what I can do."

His gaze shifted to Fury. "What matters is whether you can afford what you're asking for."

Fury nodded, the faintest trace of a smile touching his lips. "We'll see."

Harvey's enigmatic answer left the room buzzing with unspoken tension. Fury knew one thing for sure: they had just opened a door to a world far more complex—and dangerous—than they had anticipated.
