I Became The Male Lead’s Female Friend

Chapter 151.2

Yurian looks at me questioningly, and I just smiled at him.

“And it’s not like I did it all on my own. Like you said, I had a great healer, and Jeron to lay the groundwork while I went looking for the cure.” “…” “Of course, I know Rebeauvel did his best, but I don’t want you to diminish the efforts of my people, and most of all…” “…” “Isn’t information the only thing we have on this world?”

My lighthearted question was met with a chuckle that turned into a sigh, and he nodded.

“That’s right. I mean, this was a losing battle from the start.” “That’s…” “And no matter how much talent one has, isn’t it also an ability to utilize it at the right time?”

He laughed ruefully, as if to say he’d gotten the last of his regrets out of the way.

Then, abruptly, he held out his hand to me.

“Please allow me to apologize for my rudeness and greet you once again, Yurian Rebeauvel. I hope to serve you well in the future.”

His tone was sincere than before, and it was infused with goodwill.

I grasped his hand and shook it, not a bad way to start a friendship with Rebeauvel.

“I’m glad to hear you’re so amiable, and I hope I can be as well.” “Did you hear that from Jeron? Haha, well, he does have a fondness for me, even when he’s being such a twit, so…” “Hey!” “That’s right, he pretends he doesn’t, but he sure likes you a lot. Plus, he’s got a soft spot for only one person he keeps looking at…” “Princess!”

Ignoring his sour face, we greeted each other warmly.

How strange that he’s so clever, and if I do well, we might become good friends.

“Well, in honor of our acquaintance, I have one more piece of information that you might find useful.” “What?” “About Averine’s other heir.” “Averine’s other heir?

‘Confucius Myers?’

Yuri must have noticed my face stiffen for a moment, because his eyes lit up and he cleared his throat.

“Did you know that the Averine have an agreement with Rebeauvel?”

 “…With Rebeauvel?”

This was new to me.

“Technically, I believe they have a personal business partnership with my second brother.” “And the second brother Rebeauvel is…” “My second brother does construction.”

For a moment he scratched his chin as if thinking about something, then he began to recite what he knew.

“I don’t know what they’re up to, but I heard that they’re getting ready to buy up a large amount of land, and the building they’re going to build with my brother is quite large. I don’t know the details, but…”

I clenched my fists surreptitiously.

“You’d better be prepared, Princess.”  “And it is thanks to Princess Averine and her healer that the King’s youngest daughter, the Princess of Hessen, has been able to recover so well…”

The people at the party were astonished.

Not because I had cured the Princess of Hessen, but because the Princess, who was rumored to be dead until now, had appeared in person.

Although, she was still unable to walk properly and had to be carried by a knight.

Still, her face was much more radiant than when she was lying in bed, giving the impression that she was much healthier than before.

With pride, I peered at the princess and then back at the king. Our eyes locked, and he smiled softly, finishing his sentence.

“Henceforth, Hessen has decided to enter into communion with Averine, and to transfer all of Beloa’s harbor lands to her. The princess hopes that you will work to further the development of Beloa.” “I am honored, Your Majesty.”

As I accepted the document from the king, thunderous applause soon erupted around me.

The people all looked up at me in awe, and as I gazed slowly at them, my heart sank in my chest.

‘Finally.’

The business was finally in my hands.

And now that the King of Hessen had personally declared his intention to enter into an alliance with Averine, my other business in Hessen would be smooth sailing, so long as nothing else went wrong.

It was enough to make my head spin. But there was still a strange fire burning inside me.

‘Buying land and building?’

That’s because Yurian Rebeauvel had just told me the unthinkable.

But if ‘construction’ was the business that Myers was to undertake, it certainly wasn’t the only thing0

The business I had heard about before leaving for the north was something else entirely.

 — ‘Tourism?’

 — ‘Yes.’

 — ‘Well, at least it’s not trading… but it’s still better than nothing.’

I remember grumbling to myself and Lowell for a while.

At the same time, I was kind of glad.

If I’d been told that Averine had gotten the trade, which was the largest of its kind, I would have collapsed on the spot with a fit of hypertension.

But since it was a modest tourism business, and not a major one like trading, I figured it was worth a shot.

And then, out of the blue, he signs an agreement with Rebeauovel?

‘Are you going to build a park or a big resort or something?’

And where did he get the money to buy so much land?

I understand that the heirs are given a certain amount of money by the family, but everything else has to be paid for by the individual.

‘Did aunt help him?’

My head was spinning with all sorts of questions, but I had no answers.

Eventually, I gave up thinking about it and got ready to return immediately.

Now that I was in a place with easy transportation, I sent my parents a note of regard and told Lowell to find out more about Myers Confucius.

And when I finally got ready to depart.

‘Once I return to the north…’

 “Princess, your letter has arrived.”

News of the arrival of the messenger from the Magic Tower came.

The spoon-mixed tale would have resonated much louder.

Mostly because the surviving knights couldn’t remember who had attacked them.

A hasty investigation was sent, but the knights in charge of the border guard could only parrot that they were checking the facts.

The testimonies of the dead knights were not enough to convince us, but now that we have evidence, things have changed.

Even so, it’s still a mystery.
