Chapter 46: Lords Meeting (2)
“Wow! Elves! Wow! Pegasus!”
Rene, seeing Yoo Seong Castle, exclaimed with a bright face.
“All the members of the elite archer unit have turned into elves?”
Surprisingly, Rene was able to recall the names of all the soldiers living in Yoo Seong Castle.
Seeing their long ears, she seemed amazed, and as she looked at the soldiers who had started to strike cool poses, Rene confirmed each of their names and asked Yoo Seong, who nodded in response.
“Yeah, isn’t it amazing?”
“It is amazing. What could have happened? Since the soldiers of Camelot were in a soul state to begin with…perhaps they were originally elves’ souls?”
“Huh? Oh…that might be possible?”
It was something Yoo Seong hadn’t thought of at all, but after hearing it, it made some sense.
If they were originally elves’ souls but had to take on human forms because the conditions weren’t met, and now they had finally found their true forms, it seemed plausible, and the sense of resistance to the sudden change in race began to diminish.
‘Maybe that’s really the case?’
Now that Yoo Seong was thinking they were originally elves, seeing the soldiers adapt so well, despite the sudden transformation of their race and bodies, gave a different impression.
‘Then, are the Pegasi the same?’
Just earlier today, they had been regular horses, but the moment they sprouted wings, they immediately started flying naturally.
‘It’s possible.’
Just like how knights like Kate and Vanadain regained their original strength and appearance whenever they found their sealed memories, perhaps the soldiers too were regaining their original forms through leveling up and promotions?
‘Interesting.’
Now thinking that they were once great beings, Yoo Seong began to see the soldiers’ appearances in a new light.
Though Yoo Seong had been a little deterred by Jimmy, who seemed overly enthusiastic and even had hearts in his eyes while looking at the female elf archers, he quickly brushed it off.
Wasn’t Jimmy always the bravest on the battlefield?
As Yoo Seong continued his thoughts, Rene, who had been observing the 3-foot-tall Pegasi flying, chuckled and spoke.
“They look a bit funny because they’re 3-foot tall, but they’d probably look amazing in person, right?”
Since they were indeed 3-foot tall, the Pegasi looked more comical than majestic.
Yoo Seong, who also chuckled, asked, “Rene, do you think the kingdom or the empire has a Pegasus knight order?”
“There isn’t one in the Silatein Kingdom. However, the Cabal Kingdom has a very famous Pegasus knight order called the Sky Cavalry. And in the empire, there’s the Golden Order, made up of Gryphon riders.”
“Gryphons?”
“Yes, the Imperial Guard is made up of them. Their fighting power is said to be the best in the empire. Forte, one of the ‘Master Knights,’ is the leader of the Golden Order, and his power and influence are immense.”
Yoo Seong nodded as he listened to Rene’s explanation.
“If they’re all Gryphon riders, then I can’t deny that.”
Gryphons, a literal monster formed from the union of the king of the skies, the eagle, and the king of the earth, the lion, would certainly make for an elite group of riders.
“Anyway, wow…this is really incredible. A Pegasus cavalry unit is amazing.”
Though they had talked about the Cabal Kingdom and the Empire, it meant that aside from those two, no other group possessed a flying cavalry.
But now, Yoo Seong had his own Pegasus riders, forming his own airborne cavalry.
The usefulness of having a Pegasus cavalry that could soar through the skies was truly enormous.
Moreover, it was Diana leading them.
“Wow, then in the last battle, you and Diana could’ve done something like the Meteor Strike, but with the whole group, right? That’s really amazing!”
Not only was the power incredible, but the fact that they could attack from the sky was key.
It was practically within the range of the entire battlefield.
At Rene’s admiration, Yoo Seong smiled and replied.
“Of course, it’s the King’s army.”
With that rare moment of boasting, Rene chuckled and nodded.
“You’re right. It’s the King’s army, so this much is expected. There’s elves, and now there’s Pegasi. Who knows, maybe angels or dragons will show up later?”
“Maybe that’s possible. No, it’s almost certain to happen.”
Both dragons and angels existed in Fantasy Monarch.
Wyvern Riders, who fought riding wyverns.
Angel soldiers with wings sprouting from their backs, soaring through the sky.
Dragon Knights, who rode on mighty dragons, were the ultimate cavalry.
Yoo Seong himself remembered that when he was the leader of the Black Wolf Legion, he once rode into battle on a Black Dragon with pitch-black scales.
‘At least I have the Heart of the Dragon.’
Though it was questionable whether a dragon would actually be added to his legion, the possibility of dragons existing remained high.
“How many points do you have left, successor?”
“I still have quite a bit.”
Despite using a huge amount of points to recruit and promote soldiers, Yoo Seong still had quite a few points left.
As the scale of the battles grew, the points he earned also increased.
At Yoo Seong’s words, Rene smiled broadly and pointed to Yoo Seong Castle.
“Then shall we go and install some facilities?”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
[Military Facility Management]
[Stable Addition: 30pt]
[Blacksmith Shop Lv2]
A blacksmith shop where proper work can be done.
However, both the facility and the staff are lacking for higher-level tasks.
[Blacksmith Shop Upgrade Points: 40pt]
[Barracks Lv2]
The barracks where soldiers stay.
It is uncomfortable and not very clean, as many soldiers stay in the same area.
[Barracks Upgrade Points: 30pt]
In addition, upgrades to existing facilities such as the bathhouse, restroom, and temporary dining hall were possible.
“Of course, we can’t do everything, right?”
“Yeah, there’s only 100pt left.”
As Yoo Seong said that, looking over the items, he unintentionally paused at the last entry.
This was because a completely new facility had been added, different from the existing ones.
[Construction of Temple: 100pt]
[With the joining of the Saintess, the construction of the temple has become possible.]
[The temple allows you to receive blessings from the gods.]
After reading all the explanations, Yoo Seong looked at Rene, and just as he did, Rene, matching his gaze, spoke.
“Temple. This is definitely going to be a very important facility. The building will surely be very beautiful.”
Saying this in an excited tone, Rene even stood up from her seat.
“Should we call Sister Jillian as well since this is happening?”
Just like Rene, Jillian had also been added to the status window.
Since Jillian could see Yoo Seong Castle and, more importantly, the construction of the temple was involved, Rene thought it would be a good idea to have her there.
“Yeah, that would be good.”
Since the explanation about the status window and Yoo Seong Castle was something that needed to be done anyway, solving it all at once seemed like a good idea.
“Wait a moment. I’ll bring her right away.”
“Okay, just don’t trip while running.”
“Don’t worry!”
Rene answered cheerfully and quickly left the office.
About ten minutes passed.
“Successor! I’m back!”
Rene returned, holding Jillian’s hand, looking like a triumphant general, and Yoo Seong smiled faintly before speaking to Jillian, who appeared to be quite flustered.
“Saintess Jillian, you’ve arrived.”
“Oh, yes. But… what exactly is going on?”
Considering the time it took her to return, it seemed like she was brought here without much explanation.
Instead of explaining, Yoo Seong opened the status window.
“First, take a look at this.”
“Magic?”
When the light suddenly appeared, Jillian blinked, and Rene, smiling brightly, spoke again.
“Sister, this is called the status window. You can see it too, right?”
“Uh, ‘sister’?”
“Yes, ‘sister.’ Because you’re my sister.”
As Rene playfully spoke with her face getting closer, Jillian became even more flustered but nodded anyway.
“Uh…yeah, sister. Anyway, I see the light. What’s that?”
“So…”
Yoo Seong trailed off for a moment before quickly and accurately explaining the status window.
Jillian was surprised by the possibility of artificially accelerating growth, but when she saw Rene grinning beside her, she seemed to understand and nodded as though she got it.
She finally understood why Rene’s magical power was so overwhelming for someone her age.
“Indeed…I understand. Truly amazing…wait, so now I can grow through the status window as well?”
“Yes, that’s right. Since Rene is the royal magician, and you, Jillian, are the royal saintess.”
Yoo Seong smiled gently as he spoke, and Jillian pursed her lips to hide her smile.
Though she wasn’t quite used to the title of “saintess,” it felt incredibly good all the same.
‘Who am I?’
The human kingdom’s saintess.
She had once been mocked for holding the position of high priest with a divine power that was even inferior to ordinary clergy but that was now a thing of the past.
Jillian was now a true saintess, and one who was growing at that.
‘Now, the higher-ups of the Order won’t be able to ignore me anymore.’
In her heart, Jillian laughed softly and gave a graceful smile worthy of a saintess, while Yoo Seong and Rene exchanged a glance.
‘She looks really happy, doesn’t she?’
‘Yeah, her smile is getting even brighter.’
Although it was impossible to have a full conversation with just eye contact, they could still exchange some meanings through gestures. After a short, quiet laugh, they both spoke simultaneously.
“Shall we summon the warhorse now?”
“You’ll call the horse you’ll be riding from now on. Imagine summoning the warhorse and call its name.”
“Got it. I’ll give it a try.”
Seemingly nervous, Jillian swallowed dryly and pointed to the spacious area of the office before quietly calling the warhorse’s name.
“Jerome.”
As soon as she finished calling, a golden flash appeared, and a large warhorse with soft brown fur materialized.
With big, clear eyes, the horse naturally approached Jillian and lowered its head. Jillian slowly stroked Jerome’s head, giving an honest smile.
“Thank you, Successor.”
“I’m glad you like it.”
“If you send him back, Jerome will appear in Yoo Seong Castle too.”
Nodding at Rene’s words, Jillian stroked Jerome’s head again and spoke.
“Go back, Jerome.”
At Jillian’s command, Jerome vanished once more with a soft golden glow.
Rene immediately turned to look at Yoo Seong Castle and pointed to where the horses were gathered.
“They’re over there!”
Jerome, now in a 3-foot form, stood near Alphonse and Rainy, and despite his 3-foot stature, he still looked graceful.
“Then I’ll construct the temple right away.”
As Yoo Seong said this and selected the temple, a choice appeared above Yoo Seong Castle.
[Construction of Temple]
[The first temple is being built. Please choose a god.]
Goddess of the Lake
Omphalos of Iron Wall
‘No way.’
Yoo Seong and Rene both looked at Jillian almost simultaneously, and Jillian, smiling faintly, spoke in a calm tone.
“Let’s build the temple of the Goddess of the Lake first. Omphalos will understand.”
“Thank you for understanding.”
“Of course. Please don’t worry about it.”
The Goddess of the Lake was a deity of humanity.
In a sense, she was a superior of Omphalos, so it made sense to build her temple first.
“Then I’ll build it.”
Yoo Seong selected an empty plot and pressed the construction button, and in an instant, the temple was constructed.
A circular lake with a small island in the center, surrounded by walls and columns, and a large white statue of the Goddess of the Lake placed at the entrance.
[The Temple of the Goddess of the Lake has been constructed.]
[The goddess’s blessing is now bestowed upon the base.]
[The goddess’s blessing can be used in battle.]
These were all welcome messages.
But that wasn’t all.
[The rank of Yoo Seong Castle has increased.]
[Yoo Seong Castle can now attempt to expand.]
[The invitation to Yoo Seong Castle has been issued.]
[Time required to charge the invitation: 119 hours 59 minutes 51 seconds.]
An invitation to Yoo Seong Castle appeared and a bright smile spread across Rene’s face.
