I am Thor

Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Wanda: I Can’t Do It!

Powerful punches are common enough in these battles, but Corvus Glaive found himself in a unique predicament. With his back pinned to the ground and unable to free himself, he took the full force of Carol's strike directly to the head. The impact was so intense that the floor beneath his skull fractured, leaving him dazed and barely conscious.

"No!" Proxima Midnight cried out, watching Carol prepare to land another blow. Desperate, she hurled her spear, which split into three black energy rays aimed at Carol.

The legendary spear could kill most beings instantly, but Captain Marvel was no ordinary opponent. The rays struck her, but they only pushed her back without piercing her defenses.

Corvus Glaive staggered to his feet, taking in the dire scene around him.

Ten seconds earlier…

Thor smirked as he taunted, "Instead of worrying about her, you should worry about yourself!"

He drove Gungnir, the Spear of Eternity, into the heavy alloy block Ebony Maw was manipulating, sending it hurtling toward Proxima Midnight, who was now weaponless.

Proxima tried to dodge, but Gungnir pierced her side, striking her ribs. She cried out, and Ebony Maw managed to retract the alloy in time to strike her chest, pushing her back. Wounded and weakened, Proxima Midnight collapsed, struggling to rise.

Ebony Maw had acted just in time—another second, and Thor might have finished her off completely.

In a few swift moves, the once-formidable Black Order had been decimated: Cull Obsidian's body hung lifelessly from the chain axe, his soul dissipated; Proxima Midnight was out of commission; Corvus Glaive's face was battered and misshapen; only Ebony Maw remained unscathed, though visibly rattled.

On the other hand, Thor and Carol stood unscathed, showing no signs of fatigue.

The Black Order had gone from four-against-two to a two-against-two, and both Ebony Maw and Corvus Glaive looked visibly panicked.

"It's been a while," Carol remarked as she landed beside Thor. "Twenty years, right?"

"Fifteen," Thor corrected, frowning. "And last time, you punched me from New Mexico to Norway. Nearly killed me."

He remembered it all too well. Sent to Earth on a mission, he'd received an unexpected blow from Carol that had sent him hurtling into Hela's seal. That incident had set off a chaotic chain of events, ultimately leading him to Kamar-Taj and into battle with some of the universe's most dangerous foes.

"Don't blame that on me! I swear, it wasn't me!" Carol protested, denying it with a mock glare.

Their banter was interrupted by Wanda's strained voice. "Guys… I can't hold him…"

Wanda was using her red energy to lift and restrain Thanos, struggling to keep him suspended in the air. While Wanda's powers were immense, without the rage that had once fueled her, she wasn't at full strength. Holding back Thanos this long was already an extraordinary feat.

As her red energy faded, Wanda lost consciousness. Thor caught her before she hit the ground and set her aside.

Wanda managed a weak smile as she opened her eyes. "Sorry… I couldn't do it…"

Thor shook his head. "You did great. Leave the rest to me."

Carol raised an eyebrow. "Smooth talker. Is this how you coax every girl?"

Thanos, now back on his feet, took a deep breath, smirking. "Your magic is impressive, but I've still won."

Thor narrowed his eyes. "Yes, you're quite the hero—sending your minions ahead to implement your twisted 'half-life' plan. The whole universe must be touched."

Carol glanced at the fallen Black Order. "Not exactly half yet. Proxima's still hanging on."

Thor shrugged. "Actually, the Black Order originally had five members. One of them tried to invade Earth seventy years ago, and I took him down back then. So with two more of your loyal soldiers dead, I'd say we're almost even."

Carol grinned. "Does that mean it's time for a fair one-on-one?"

Thor raised his spear with a smirk. "Not quite. I still have an extra assist."
