Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Elysia and Mobius
Ryan spent two hours to resolve this minor Honkai and then went back to school. Perhaps because the Fire Moth helicopter was too noisy, many students were pointing at the sky.
Of course, no one took it seriously. It was dark and windy and everyone thought it was the army doing some training or something, and no one noticed Ryan climbing over the wall.
Ryan didn't have many acquaintances at school, so he walked through the crowd with his head down. When he returned to the dormitory, he found that Kevin had not returned yet.
The tuition at Qianyu Academy is very expensive. The dormitory is not large, but it is a luxurious double room. He put the weapon back into the closet and clapped his hands lightly.
"Done."
To be honest, the intensity of the battle tonight was not very high. There were only a few Honkai beasts and a group of death warriors. In fact, the whole world was the same. The random occurrence of Honkai phenomena was a headache but not fatal. Even the two Herrscher who appeared were forcibly suppressed.
Everything is normal in the world order, and even within the Fire Moth there is a sense of relief.
"If I hadn't known that the world would end sooner or later, I would have relaxed along with you guys."
Ryan grinned, he had been unlucky these years, always encountering Honkai around him, but this thing was completely random, there were no prisoners who knew the current situation, and lacked the conditions to think deeply about it.
"Exploration is not a fantasy. We must have objective conditions to move forward. It's like a ladder. We have to step up slowly."
He thought about the stagnant strength. What happened tonight showed that low level Honkai beasts were no longer sufficient to be a condition for development. But Ryan was not in a hurry. Just like he did not participate in the Second Herrscher crusade, only the living can go to develop, and the dead are only fit to be buried in the ground.
I am as steady as an old dog.
Ryan looked at the wall clock with a sense of pride, and wondered why Kevin hadn't come back yet. Could it be that he finally mustered up the courage to take Mei out for the night?
Ding~
The cell phone rang slightly, Ryan took it out and saw that it was not a message from Kevin, but a pink cartoon image that looked like a ball of yarn.
[If the flowers are gorgeous]: When will you update? (Looking forward to it)
Ryan was stunned for a moment, then realized that this was a book friend he had added. Ryan had been fishing in the comment section before and found that this person was quite insightful, so he added him to his address book separately.
Although the chances were slim, Ryan also wanted to find his "friend". If he could run back, that would be the best.
Anyway, we have to wait for Mei to come back before we can proceed with the next step of research.
Ryan thought about it and tapped on the keyboard.
[Sora]: I have something to do in the afternoon. I am very tired. I won't write tonight.
[If the flowers are gorgeous]: How can you keep a girl waiting for a long time? If I can't sleep at night, you will be responsible for it.
Girl? It should be a big guy who picks his feet.
Ryan sneered. It was a tone that a normal girl wouldn't speak in. She also loved using cute emoticons. According to the laws of the internet, they were all considered to be toe picking people, but he didn't feel disgusted.
His advantage is that he knows the ending, but his disadvantage is also that if he keeps staring at the result, he will inevitably go crazy. He doesn't want to be a robot who just wants to survive.
Even if you know the outcome, you should still enjoy the present moment, maintain your state of mind and stay true to yourself at every stage.
[If the flowers are gorgeous]: Why are you suddenly silent? Did you change your mind?
[Sora]: No, I have classes tomorrow and I really can't squeeze in any time today.
[If the flowers are gorgeous]: Are you tired? I recently found a book on body massage, and it helped several people relieve their fatigue. Would you like me to send it to you?
[Sora]:I have no one to help me.
[If the flowers are gorgeous]: Don't you have a roommate who values women over friendship? Is the relationship not good?
[Sora]: He cares more about women than friends. How can he care about me? This guy hasn't come back yet.
[If the flowers are gorgeous]: You haven't come back yet? Could it be... (covering mouth), if only I were here, I could give you a massage while you write from morning till night.
Are you a demon or do you think I'm a typewriter?
Ryan mouth twitched, and he replied with a 'sleep' expression in an unpleasant manner, then lay down on the bed, threw his phone aside and ignored it.
Looking at the ceiling, his pupils reflected the halo of the chandelier, and an unconscious smile appeared at the corners of his mouth, as if he was savoring the moment of relaxation brought to him by an interesting netizen, but this smile soon calmed down and no longer contained any expression.
If only it hadn't Honkai.
Suddenly an idea popped up in his mind, and then he used it as a condition to smoothly unfold his fantasy. A few seconds later, Ryan sat up instantly and patted his face gently, as if to wake himself up from the fantasy.
The world will not change according to his fantasy, at least, not now.
...
Mu Continent, the Fifth Research Institute of the Fire Moth.
Metal ceiling, metal floor, countless precision instruments emitting various colors of fluorescence. Any instrument placed here is comparable to the treasure of a cutting, edge laboratory. But if you look closely, you can see vessels filled with green liquid placed everywhere.
Strange pieces of meat or internal organs float in the vessels, adding a touch of creepiness to the sci-fi feel.
On one side of this horrible laboratory, there was a metal bed with a young girl sitting on it.
She has long, slightly curly pink hair, purple eyes as deep as stars, long and thin eyebrows, a slightly raised nose, and a curve on her lips, as if she is smiling mischievously.
The girl held her cell phone in her hands, humming a song softly and swinging her legs back and forth. Her beautiful face and Fairy like appearance did not really fit in with this cold and scary laboratory.
"Hehe, you really like to keep me in suspense. You actually caught my curiosity accurately."
The girl voice was melodious and lively. She didn't seem angry at all for being stood up. She was just picking up her phone to send something interesting...
"Others just simply don't want to pay attention to you, Elysia." A slow voice came out, and a tall woman emerged from the shadow of the laboratory. She was wearing a white coat and a turtleneck sweater, showing her perfect figure. Her long green hair was tied into a ponytail, and she was reaching out to hold her black-framed glasses.
"Also, the organization gave you a communication device, not for you to chat with netizens."
"Mebius, you finished the inspection so quickly?" Elysia stood up, stepped barefoot on the floor, and asked with a smile: "Are you too tired after working all day?"
She moved closer, but Mebius subconsciously took a half step back, looking at the woman who was talking to herself with some helplessness.
She originally thought that this kind of personality was pretended, because she was too enthusiastic and kind, and even developed a sense of disgust. But these days she was left with helplessness. It is still unclear whether she was acting or not, but it was indeed a role that she could not handle.
"Okay, Blanca has made me some coffee. Don't get too close. Your examination is still fine, but I think you must have some secrets. Maybe I'll be able to find them out soon, so it's better for you to tell me yourself."
Mebius took off her glasses, with a confident and arrogant smile on her lips. She felt that she had exerted enough pressure, because the pink-haired girl finally stopped moving and a thoughtful expression appeared on her face.
Come on, tell me your secret. After being together for such a long time, you should be clear about my abilities.
Her smile grew deeper and deeper, and then Alicia finally finished her thoughts and lowered her hand from her face.
"Mebius, why do you think he ignored me?"
Mebius, the world's biological expert, director of the Fifth Institute of the Fire Moth, and top scientist, almost bumped his head against the instrument next to him and quickly held on with his hands.
"I told you that you are too tired. Come here and have a rest." Elysia went up to support the other person without hesitation.
"Go away." Mebius covered his head with his hands, his face cold: "You've been thinking about this for so long, and this is all you can think of?"
Elysia didn't look angry at all, and tilted her head slightly: "Yes, after all, it was you, Mebius, who said something that made me care. How could anyone not want to pay attention to a girl like me?"
Mebius looked at the other party speechlessly. After failing in the test for the Nth time, she took a deep breath and regained his rationality.
"Because according to the virtual rules of the Internet, the other party will not regard you as a girl. This is the result of overacting."
"Acting? I just be myself." Elysia blinked, not quite understanding.
"You... forget it." Mebius took another breath and gritted his teeth. "Can you not waste time for one day? I've read the novel you mentioned. Apart from the good imagination, it's all low quality and immature descriptions. How can I like this kind of book? If you want to finish it quickly, I can ask the field staff to bring him back and lock him up in a small dark room. Hey, what's that look in your eyes?"
Elysia was staring at him. There was no impatience of being lectured in her purple eyes, nor any resentment of being misunderstood. Instead, there was only joy, joy that came from the bottom of her heart.
What's wrong with this woman? Could she be a masochist?
"Mebius, I'm so happy."
"W-Why are you so happy? And don't come over here."
"I only mentioned the title of the book once, and you went to find it and read it. It's so gentle and beautiful."
Me? Gentle?
Mebius wanted to laugh, but she couldn't, so she could only turn away indifferently.
"Don't think too much. I'm just looking for some inspiration for my research. It's also a good way to kill time. This has nothing to do with you. It has nothing to do with you at all!"
She emphasized it deliberately, but found that Elysia was just smiling at her. She couldn't help but feel her scalp tingling and quickened her pace.
The short heeled leather shoes made a crisp sound on the metal floor. After walking out of the laboratory, the steps became faster and faster, and suddenly stopped when they were about to reach the document room.
"Elysia , I told you not to follow me."
"But you haven't answered my question yet. Why does he often disappear in the middle of a conversation?"
"Isn't it okay for me to have something to do?" Mebius didn't know how to explain. Fortunately, at this time, the footsteps sounded again.
At the other end of the corridor, a white haired woman in researcher's uniform walked over. She also had a good figure, but with more mature feminine charm.
"Hey, Blanca." Elysia immediately let go of Mebius and waved hello.
"Good evening, Miss Elysia ." The woman bowed gently.
"Just call me Ellie, there's no need to be so formal."
"Ahem." Mebius couldn't help but cough lightly. She knew that if she didn't interrupt, she would have to listen to nonsense all night, so she simply folded her arms and looked at her assistant: "Blanca, what's the matter?"
"Doctor, the Far East Branch sent a message that they prevented a small Honkai in Changkong City."
"That's all?"
"No, you are the one who stopped the Honkai, so I brought the documents here specially."
Changkong City?
Mebius was stunned for a moment, then his eyes lit up. He snatched the document and glanced at it. His usually expressionless face became lively.
"Sure enough, you've attacked again. Why does the Honkai always happen around you? Compared to the Honkai of the same scale three years ago, you're completely unscathed. Are you hiding your strength, or..."
The doctor old problem came back again. Her superiors had clearly ordered her not to study Ryan. Why did she have to be such a good person?
Blanca had a headache. She knew that Ryan had a background in the Fire Council. The last time he cut research funding, Dr. Mebius had been quiet for a few years, but now he couldn't help it again.
Let Miss Elysia persuade him, ok?
Blanca looked up and was surprised to see the fairy like girl peeking out from behind the doctor, her face full of interest.
"Changkong City? I want to go there too."
