Emerging from the thicket of branches and grass

is a woman dressed in a tight black dress.

She has dark skin and a slender figure, but her upper body is voluptuous, exuding a

hint of seductive charm.

Walking through this rarely traveled mountain forest in such attire is inherently

abnormal.

However, since the woman is also a Nen user, it isn't so strange after all.

Moro looks at the suddenly appearing woman, his body tense as Nen energy surges

within him.

But upon seeing her outfit and the face with a broad forehead and large vertical pupils,

Moro's tension eases somewhat.

He recognizes her identity—

Kalluto of the Hunter Association's Twelve Zodiacs.

Moro suspects she must have been attracted by the gunfire.

Kalluto stands on the hillside, arms crossed, calmly observing Moro.

Their gazes meet in mid-air—one side scrutinizing, the other filled with surprise mixed

with vigilance.

It seems…

Moro's naked body, under these circumstances, is not something worth paying much

attention to.

Kalluto's gaze lightly sweeps over the Nen energy surrounding Moro; compared to

earlier, its state appears significantly more relaxed.

However, the rapid transition from tension to relaxation feels somewhat abnormal.

Kalluto shifts her gaze to the open cargo truck door and then to the two corpses on the

ground.

Afterward, she looks back at Moro and says flatly: "Do you think my threat level is

lower than that guy on the ground?"

She gestures meaningfully toward Zazan's lifeless body.

"Quite the opposite."

Although Moro remains vigilant, his sense of crisis has diminished considerably.

He initially thought Kalluto must have been drawn by the gunfire; now it seems she

was already present before that occurred.

The noise made upon her entrance must have been intentional.

"If you wanted to harm me, you wouldn't have gone out of your way to make noise to

alert me just now."

Moro raises his head and calmly meets Kalluto's gaze on the hillside.

That said, he still prepares himself for defense at any moment.

Even though he knows he cannot make waves in front of a member of the Twelve

Zodiacs, he will not simply submit.

Even if he becomes a corpse, he intends to make some ripples first.

Hearing Moro's response, Kalluto subtly glances at the Nen energy swirling around

Moro's right hand; her expression remains neutral as she refrains from saying anything

further. Instead, she gracefully leaps down from the hillside onto the road where the

truck is parked.

Her actions inevitably shorten the distance between herself and Moro.

From the start, Moro had placed himself in an absolutely disadvantaged position;

seeing Kalluto approach now inevitably creates pressure on him.

As a traveler, his perception of the Hunter Association has not elevated to that of socalled righteous individuals responsible for solving various problems…

But aside from certain individuals, he doesn't believe that members of the Twelve

Zodiacs are those who would trample on lives indiscriminately.

However—

Not everyone can be as straightforward as Gon.

Thus it's no surprise that Moro feels pressure in this situation.

Kalluto seems to sense Moro's emotional shift and slowly halts her steps without

further encroaching upon his psychological space.

Initially noticing Moro's insincerity prompted her slight pressure earlier.

But treating a rookie who likely isn't a criminal this way feels like overstepping

boundaries upon reflection.

Kalluto shakes her head slightly and turns her gaze toward the cargo truck.

From her position, she can clearly see rows of cages inside filled with naked children

trapped within them.

The fact that they are naked…

As she thinks this through, Kalluto unconsciously glances at Moro's body and can

basically confirm his identity in this matter.

Moro shows no reaction to Kalluto's scrutiny.

It's not that he has an exposure fetish; he simply feels that such trivial matters aren't

worth letting emotions fluctuate over.

However, Kalluto's earlier scrutiny and her emotionless expression inadvertently

remind Moro of certain memories.

When he was bought by Morena and woke up aboard the ship, Morena had also

scrutinized his body in a similar manner.

"You're quite lucky to have survived amidst such chaos without losing any limbs;

that's why I bought you."

At that time, Morena's expression was eerily similar to Kalluto's now.

However, Morena had made a remark that made Moro feel quite uncomfortable; she

casually grabbed her own vulnerable parts and said in an entirely emotionless tone:

"If you were a girl, I would be even more satisfied."

That tone and action felt as if she could twist off his vital parts at any moment.

That was their first encounter with each other.

In Moro's view, that woman never concealed the scar crossing most of her face;

perhaps because of this, sometimes in front of Brother Dog she seemed unreserved

about expressing some unusual thoughts as well.

Yet after nearly a year of interaction, Moro still hasn't truly understood what kind of

person Morena is.

Perhaps it's also because…

He had unilaterally branded Morena with a label of "antisocial personality" from their

very first meeting.

"You really trust me."

Kalluto's calm voice pulls Moro back from his thoughts; he feels a jolt as he reflects on

his earlier blunder.

Noticing a flicker of regret in Moro's eyes prompts Kalluto to take an interest in him.

After their brief interaction, she recognizes that Moro is someone who holds high

standards for himself.

And such individuals tend to excel once they surpass the threshold for mastering Nen

abilities; their future capabilities are bound to be impressive.

If it weren't for her relatively low desire for a "two-star hunter title," she might be willing

to invest some time and effort into Moro.

"Kalluto, professional hunter."

Kalluto fixes her gaze on Moro and introduces herself first.

"Nice to meet you; just call me Moro."

Moro responds in kind with his name.

Kalluto nods lightly before asking: "Tell me about what happened; I might be able to

help."

"..."

Moro falls silent for a moment but soon recounts the situation surrounding everything

that transpired.

However, he omits mentioning that their cargo truck is headed toward a mental

hospital.

In this matter, his identity is merely that of livestock yet to be sent off to "the

slaughterhouse," so saying less is certainly more prudent.

After listening to Moro's account, Kalluto roughly understands what happened and

categorizes it as human trafficking.

She also shows no curiosity or probing questions about how Moro understands Nen

abilities nor does she care about his actions against the middle-aged man.

She came to this area solely to collect venom from a newly cataloged species of

snake.

Encountering this incident is merely an inconsequential accident for her.

If she can conveniently do something good along the way—she will certainly oblige.

But getting herself entangled within it? No thanks.

Kalluto's indifferent attitude is something Moro appreciates seeing.

"Miss Kalluto… please take care of these livestock."

Seeing Kalluto willing to help relocate this group of livestock inside the truck eases

some burden off Moro's shoulders.

Now with changes he has initiated—these livestock…

Perhaps they will have a chance at survival after all.

Kalluto nods; such matters are just a phone call away for her—not much trouble at all.

Moro reveals a slight smile before turning his attention back toward where Zazan's

body lies on the ground—he quickly retrieves suitable clothing from two corpses

nearby.

He then searches through Zazan's belongings for wallets and pulls out any cash inside

before not forgetting to take along Zazan's handgun too.

Throughout this process, Kalluto remains silent while watching him closely.

Once Moro secures his handgun and prepares to leave…

"Thank you."

He solemnly expresses gratitude toward Kalluto.

Without her assistance—he would likely be struggling over how to manage these

livestock in the truck right now.

Upon hearing this gratitude from him prompts Kalluto to lift her chin slightly in

acknowledgment.

Moro then turns away and departs without hesitation.

However, as he leaves he cannot help but glance back toward where their cargo truck

was originally headed.

At this point in time—are Morena and Brother Dog already at the mental hospital?

Moro doesn't know.

Now standing at fate's crossroads with memories of future events—he has no

intention of retracing old paths again.

Although they haven't crossed paths yet—it's time for parting…

Morena.

Moro thinks quietly before resolutely stepping onto another path opposite hers.

Behind him,

Kalluto watches as Moro leaves until he disappears from sight before pulling out her

phone to make a call regarding arrangements for relocating these livestock inside the

truck.

Quickly finishing up her call while standing beside the cargo truck—she suddenly

notices surveillance cameras installed inside the open driver's cabin.

Thinking waiting idly would be boring—she enters the driver's cabin and begins

operating controls until replaying footage previously recorded there.

Moments later,

As she watches playback footage showing inside the cargo area—her serpent-like

vertical pupils narrow slowly revealing an incredulous gleam within them.
