Hunter X Hunter: Tombbound Power

Chapter 108: 108 A Big Move

As for Paladin's Glory, Sparka's exclusive Nen ability—it wasn't suited for Ronnel at all.

Though Ronnel still needed to improve his Nen and overall strength, he had enough skill to protect himself and navigate through the vast, dangerous world of the six continents.

His combat skills, including martial arts like Shingen-ryu and martial arts of Subai school, were already advanced. What Ronnel lacked was a true finishing move—a decisive attack that could turn the tide of battle.

Moves like Shalnark's Autopilot Mode, Phinks' Ripper Cyclotron, or Feitan's Pain Packer—these techniques acted as their ultimate trump cards in a fight.

Originally, Ronnel had thought about learning Uvogin's Big Bang Impact or mastering Tiger Bite Fist from Nobunaga. Both of these moves were incredibly destructive and could serve as his ace in the hole.

But after his clash with Netero, Ronnel realized something important—his strength alone wasn't enough to take on the world. He felt a new urgency and knew he had to evolve.

Yet, those moves—Tiger Bite Fist and Big Bang Impact—were based on Uvogin and Nobunaga's individual Nen abilities. They might not be the best fit for him.

So, Ronnel set out to create his own ultimate technique—one perfectly tailored to his abilities. And to achieve this, he needed to find the lost ship of the Kurta clan.

According to stories, after the Kurta clan was attacked by the Phantom Troupe four years ago, a small group had escaped to Arakuda Island. They were the "seeds" meant to preserve the bloodline. However, most perished in the treacherous waters surrounding the island, their bodies claimed by the sea.

In order to protect the survivors, the Kurta's patriarch sent some of their strongest warriors—Nen users—to guard the escape. But when Nen users die, their resentment lingers, especially if they have unresolved anger. And these Kurta warriors had plenty of reason to hate the Phantom Troupe for slaughtering their people.

Although four years had passed, Ronnel was no stranger to the lingering aura of death. He stretched out his Nen and scanned the sunken ship until he sensed it—a faint trace of hatred, hovering in the wreckage.

With that, Ronnel leaped aboard the ship.

Kurapika, watching from a distance, saw Ronnel's figure and hesitated. He wasn't ready to face him yet, so he turned and left without a word.

The ship was old and weathered, but surprisingly, it wasn't moldy. Even after all these years, it retained some traces of the Kurta people's culture—faded clothing patterns similar to Kurapika's, and a necklace left on a table, a symbol of their traditions.

It was unmistakably the Kurta's ship.

Ronnel smiled to himself before focusing on the bodies inside the ship. There were seven corpses, but only two gave off a lingering aura of resentment—two of the Kurta warriors, still holding their grudge even in death.

There were 128 members of the Kurta clan, including Kurapika, and the fact that only two Nen users were left to guard the group showed how brutal the Phantom Troupe's attack must have been.

Ronnel knelt by one of the bodies, placing his hand over it. He made a vow:

"I want to inherit the ability to develop a second Nen power without the restriction of the Scarlet Eyes. I'll pay any price to make it happen."

Ronnel didn't want Kurapika's limitations—the need for his eyes to turn red to activate his secondary ability, Emperor Time. He sought only the power, without the emotional burden or the need for his eyes to change color.

Some might argue that one person could have multiple Nen abilities, like Razor from Greed Island, who had both Aura Ball and 14 Devils. But those were extensions of his primary ability—just like Kurapika's Judgment Chain, which had multiple variations.

What Ronnel wanted was different—an entirely new power, not just an extension of his existing Nen.

As Ronnel spoke, the resentment from the dead Nen users became visible, thickening the air. Their anger surged, filling the entire cabin.

In a small inn nearby, the innkeeper and his wife, busy appraising antiques brought in by the candidates, suddenly froze. They turned toward the ship where Ronnel was and exchanged worried glances.

"That shouldn't be possible… The Hunter Association cleared this area for the exam," the innkeeper muttered, his voice laced with disbelief.

Even the examinees waiting outside felt the dark, ominous aura emanating from the ship. It was suffocating, making their hearts race with fear.

"What… what is that feeling?" one of them stammered, wide-eyed.
