Hunter X Hunter, Reborn as a Kuruta Tribesmen

Chapter 70: Chapter 70

"It was a close call! You almost killed me. I told you to stop, but you didn't!"

Ging looked at Rocky with an exasperated expression.

Rocky raised his hand, and the Dragon King Sword, which was embedded deep in the ground, flew out and began spinning in the air beside him.

"Don't! Don't! Don't!" Ging waved his hands frantically. "Stop, cease fire, let's not fight anymore! There's no reason to keep this going!"

Rocky, understanding there was no point in continuing, put away the Dragon King Sword. He then looked at Ging, signaling him to speak.

Seeing Rocky relent, Ging let out a sigh of relief and plopped down unceremoniously.

"You, kid—you're the one who broke into *Greed Island* before!" Ging said, pointing at him.

"You're also a member of the Kuruta clan, right?"

Rocky nodded. "Yes."

"That's incredible! How did you even find me?" Ging asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

Rocky didn't feel the need to explain. "If I want to find you, I'll find you."

Ging chuckled. He thought he had concealed his whereabouts well, but the young man in front of him had clearly outwitted him. The method Rocky used was obviously not conventional.

"Your ability?" Ging mused aloud. "Amazing!"

"You've been to Whale Island, haven't you?"

Rocky was slightly taken aback. How could Ging guess that?

"I've been there."

"Of course!" Ging said. "You shouldn't leave anything behind. Once you do, it's easy for someone with a tracking ability like yours to use it against you."

As expected of one of the world's top five Nen users, Ging had an uncanny understanding of Nen.

"Is it really that easy to guess the conditions of my ability?" Rocky thought to himself, impressed by Ging's intuition.

"But what I'm curious about is—what exactly did you use to track me?" Ging pressed.

Rocky casually tossed a piece of fishing line at him.

Catching it mid-air, Ging's expression shifted as recognition dawned.

"You've met my son, haven't you?"

"How do you know?" Rocky asked, surprised.

"I guessed," Ging replied, examining the line. "This is from the fishing rod I used back on Whale Island. I left it there, and now it's probably in the hands of my son!"

"Yeah," Rocky confirmed.

Ging nodded, though his expression betrayed his inner shock. He understood Nen abilities well enough to know that tracking someone typically required meeting a specific set of conditions. Yet Rocky had managed to locate him with just a fishing line.

"An ability like that… It's abnormal," Ging thought, marveling. "If this kid wanted to track someone, no one in this world could escape him."

Ging looked at Rocky, his interest deepening.

"You're looking for me because of your people, right?"

"Yes. Where are they?"

"The NGL Autonomous Region," Ging said directly, much to Rocky's surprise.

Rocky had expected Ging to dance around the question, but the straightforward answer caught him off guard.

Wait—NGL? Isn't that…

The Chimera Ants!!

No!

The Chimera Ants haven't appeared yet!

Rocky's mind raced. What did Ging mean by sending his clan there?

No, it's fine for now. The Chimera Ants haven't appeared yet.

The NGL was a secluded nation with minimal outside connections. It seemed like a good place to hide the Kurta clan, given its primitive lifestyle. Even if someone discovered their Scarlet Eyes, the lack of technology and communication would prevent news from spreading quickly.

It *was* a suitable hiding spot.

Rocky's expression shifted rapidly—concern, anger, then acceptance.

From Rocky's reaction, Ging deduced that the boy had some knowledge of NGL. But Ging couldn't make sense of his fluctuating emotions.

"Do you think it's a good place?" Ging asked.

"It's a good place," Rocky replied. "At least, for now."

Ging frowned. "What do you mean by that? Is there a problem with NGL later on?"

"Thank you for taking care of my people," Rocky said, brushing past the question. He seemed ready to leave, which made Ging anxious.

A talent like Rocky—with his powerful tracking ability and combat skills—couldn't be let go so easily.

"Wait, kid!" Ging called after him.

Rocky stopped and glanced back. "What is it?"

"There's a place I want to go," Ging began. "I can't go right now, but if I ever get the chance, I want to invite you to come with me."

"A place you want to go but can't?"

Dark Continent.

The words echoed in Rocky's mind. Was Ging inviting him because of his abilities?

"Sure. If I'm free at the time," Rocky replied casually.

"By the way, your ability isn't just for finding people, is it?" Ging asked, his tone tinged with curiosity.

Rocky nodded. "I can find anything I want, as long as I have enough information."

"Information?"

"Anything will do. As long as there's enough of it."

Ging froze. "Any information?"

Initially, Ging assumed that Rocky's tracking ability required meeting a multitude of specific conditions. However, after hearing Rocky's explanation, it became clear—while many conditions might be necessary to activate the ability, the nature of the conditions didn't matter. Whether simple or complex, as long as there were enough of them, the ability would work.

This realization struck Ging profoundly. Such a flexible yet effective ability was nothing short of extraordinary—abnormal in the best way possible!

"Abilities like this… The next generation is terrifying," Ging muttered, shaking his head.

"If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way," Rocky said.

But before he could leave, Ging suddenly said, "Wait! Since you're here, are you interested in exploring this temple with me?"

"Explore the temple?"

"I'm not interested in ruins," Rocky replied flatly.

Ging smirked and, without warning, sliced a wound into his palm with a dagger.

"If you're not interested in ruins, what about Nen?"

Suddenly, glowing spots of light appeared on the walls. The light seemed to pull an invisible force, slowly healing the wound on Ging's hand.

Rocky frowned, activating **Gyo** instinctively. He closely examined the changes around him. His quick reaction revealed his solid Nen foundation, which only further impressed Ging.

"Still not interested in ruins now?" Ging asked with a knowing smile.

Rocky looked up at Ging, his curiosity now piqued. The ruins… they weren't as simple as the ancient structures he had initially assumed. In this world, Nen was intertwined with everything, and it seemed the purpose of these ruins was to preserve the thoughts and will of the ancients.

"I've been studying these murals for three months," Ging said, his voice tinged with frustration, "and I still can't figure out why this temple can automatically heal wounds!"

"But it's not just about healing," he continued with growing enthusiasm. "My body barely feels hungry even after fifteen days here!"

"In other words," Ging added, excitement lighting up his face, "it's as if the normal daily consumption of the human body has been stretched to nearly two months!"

As he spoke, his expression shifted, the thrill of sharing his discovery evident. Ging couldn't hide the joy of unveiling this mystery to someone who might just understand it as deeply as he did.
