Hulk : The Thunderstrike

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Lend Me Your Handcuffs, It's Not Enough!

What Antonia was chasing at the moment was a van.

The vehicle had just sped past Mark's official car. Mark, the Deputy Director of the Chicago Public Security Bureau, had been in the middle of a conversation with Antonia when the latter suddenly bolted away.

Antonia had caught a glimpse of the van's driver and passenger and immediately identified them.

[Name: Max Jiale, 37 years old, professional human trafficker, with four prior criminal records.]

[Name: Marco Lame, 42 years old, human trafficker, no prior criminal record.]

Antonia's enhanced perception automatically processed their identities, and not just theirs—he also sensed the presence of two children in the vehicle, even though they weren't visible.

The timing couldn't have been more urgent. Mark had been congratulating Antonia on his earlier success and offering words of encouragement, but Antonia had no time to listen. Chicago had just launched a special operation against human trafficking, and here he was, face-to-face with two active traffickers.

"Don't wait for me!" he yelled over his shoulder, abandoning formalities and sprinting after the van.

---

A Wild Chase

At 400 pounds, Antonia's sheer mass caused heads to turn as he ran. Despite his size, his speed was unmatched—double that of a normal person. He cut through the streets like a gust of wind, gaining on the van that was attempting to evade him.

"Antonia!!!"

The voices of his colleagues echoed in the background.

"Antonia!!!"

"Antonia!!!"

Director Rex, Instructor Matt, and Antonia's mentor, Sam, were all shouting after him, their faces a mix of disbelief and concern.

"What is he doing?" Rex exclaimed, watching as Antonia's massive figure thundered down the road.

The situation grew more intense. The van wasn't stopping, and Antonia wasn't about to let it go. His single-minded determination culminated in a thunderous impact as he collided with the vehicle, smashing into its hood and forcing it to stop.

Mark, watching the scene unfold, was initially furious.

"What on earth is this rookie doing?!" he muttered, his face darkening.

But what happened next silenced everyone.

---

A Display of Strength

Antonia grabbed the van's door with one hand, yanked it open with a loud metallic groan, and tore it clean off its hinges.

The crowd gasped. Even Mark, who had been preparing to reprimand Antonia, was stunned into silence.

Inside the vehicle, Max Jiale and Marco Lame were frozen in fear.

"Get out!" Antonia barked, his deep voice filled with authority. "I'm Officer Antonia from the Chicago Police Department. This is an inspection—cooperate immediately!"

The two traffickers knew they were caught. Their faces went pale as they exchanged panicked glances. They were fully aware of the consequences if they were apprehended.

Max, the driver, hesitated for a moment before deciding to make a desperate move. But before he could act, Antonia grabbed him like he was weightless and pulled him out of the vehicle, lifting him off the ground as if he were a child.

Marco, on the other hand, tried to escape by bolting out the other side of the van.

---

A Swift Take-Down

Antonia didn't hesitate. With a powerful throw, he hurled Max directly at Marco, sending both of them crashing to the ground. The impact was brutal—Marco nearly passed out, while Max sustained two broken ribs.

Both men were incapacitated, writhing in pain and overwhelmed with fear.

Antonia strode over, grabbed each of them by the neck, and lifted them off the ground effortlessly. The sight was enough to make even seasoned officers shiver.

---

Shock and Awe

"Antonia, stop! Do you know what you're doing?!" Rex shouted, storming toward the scene.

Matt and Sam followed closely behind, their faces red with a mix of anger and disbelief.

"This is outrageous!" Matt yelled. "You can't just act like this!"

Even Mark stepped forward, his expression grim. As the Deputy Director of the bureau, he needed an explanation. The events had escalated too quickly, and Antonia's actions seemed over the top.

Rex approached Mark, trying to salvage the situation. "Deputy Director, I assure you we'll handle this and get to the bottom of it."

Mark's silence was heavy with disapproval.

---

An Unshakable Resolve

Antonia, however, remained calm and resolute. Ignoring the heated voices around him, he looked directly at Sam.

"Master," he said, his voice steady, "lend me your handcuffs. These two aren't ordinary people—they're traffickers. There's something wrong here."

Sam hesitated, glancing at the trembling men in Antonia's grip. The determination in Antonia's eyes left no room for doubt.

Reluctantly, Sam handed over the handcuffs.

Antonia secured the traffickers, his actions firm yet methodical. Despite the chaos around him, he remained focused, his duty to protect and serve guiding every move.

---

Unfolding the Truth

As additional officers arrived at the scene, Antonia briefed them on the situation. A search of the van revealed two young children, bound and gagged, hidden under a pile of blankets.

The discovery sent a wave of silence through the crowd.

Mark, who had been on the verge of reprimanding Antonia, now looked at him with a mix of awe and respect.

"You acted rashly," Mark finally said, his tone softening, "but you also saved these children. Your instincts were correct."

Rex nodded, stepping forward. "We'll process the paperwork and ensure everything is handled properly. Antonia, you've done well today."

The rescued children were taken to safety, and the traffickers were escorted away in handcuffs.

---

Aftermath

Back at the precinct, the atmosphere was electric. Officers buzzed with activity, processing reports and handling the aftermath of the incident.

Antonia sat quietly at his desk, his towering figure an imposing presence even in repose. Despite his earlier actions, he remained humble, deflecting praise and insisting he had only done his duty.

Mark approached him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"You have a unique way of doing things, Antonia," he said, a faint smile playing on his lips. "It's unorthodox, but it gets results. Keep that fire, but learn to temper it."

Antonia nodded. "Understood, sir. Thank you."

As the precinct settled down, one thing was clear: Antonia's actions had made a significant impact. The rescued children were safe, and two dangerous criminals were off the streets.

For Antonia, this was just the beginning of his journey in the fight against crime in Chicago.
