Chapter 201.2
* * *
The first day of the New Year started with a nightmare again.
Ah, this dream again.
I’ve been having a lot of dreams about my past life lately.
Han Yuna. The name from my past life.
A girl living in a hospital room, nearing the end of her life. Yuna is constantly writing in her notebook.
Huh? What’s this dream? What am I writing?
I watched my past self.
‘Baal?’
A black snake floated in front of Yuna’s eyes.
‘Why do I keep having these dreams?’
I tried to snap out of it.
‘I want to wake up.’
It felt like a nightmare, and again, I couldn’t open my eyes.
I dream in a place where I can’t tell if it’s my past life or the present. Yuna falls asleep. And then a dream, yet another dream.
“Dad.”
Again.
I started walking.
“Can you do anything for me?”
I’m holding a gun that Siebel gave me. Pointing it at Collen – Collen looks at me, just like Siebel did right before he died.
“Of course, anything you want. You’re my precious daughter.”
“Can you even give up your most precious thing?”
I couldn’t see Collen’s response or expression.
Bang.
I fired the gun.
“This is what I wanted. This is what Siebel wanted too.”
Collen fell to the ground, blood gushing from his chest. And then… Baal appeared again.
“Ugh!”
I woke up abruptly in my bed.
‘What was that dream all about!’
Although it’s a recurring nightmare, today was a bit different.
‘It felt more real than usual…’
I was shaking. The dream of killing Collen was connected to the memories of Han Yuna from my past life.
‘Baal… was there.’
In my past life.
‘I didn’t notice in the previous dreams. The repeated dreams in the hospital room were about Baal…’
Why? How’s that possible? Wasn’t this world supposed to be fictional?
‘It hurts.’
My head started to ache.
Then Baal appeared before me. I was flabbergasted.
“Dad lets you wander around freely every day? He doesn’t even control you anymore.”
I reached out to Baal.
“Do you want to tell me something?”
I smirked.
“If you know something, give me a hint.”
Wait. A thought crossed my mind and I furrowed my brows.
“Could it be…”
The puzzle pieces that shouldn’t fit were coming together.
In haste, I rummaged through my bookshelf. I had records from Mage Tower about experiments on Collen and Siebel.
The documents were in an ancient language only wizards could read, so translating them was challenging.
“The purpose of experimenting on Siebel was to summon the ultimate demon god using Collen as an ingredient.”
And that demon god was Baal, the highest-ranking among them.
I swallowed.
“Baal’s power is endless. He reads the past and the present…”
My finger stopped at the last paragraph.
“He foresees the future.”
This can’t be true.
I covered my mouth with my hand.
‘My speculations can’t be right.’
But I already had the puzzle pieces in hand…
I looked at the calendar.
‘There’s only one person who can reveal the whole truth.’
And I need to see him.
