How to Be a Dark Hero’s Daughter

Chapter 192.1

I fell asleep after reluctantly taking the medicine Cedric had given me.

I opened my eyes at a faint noise.

Zion was placing a bowl of water on the table beside my bed.

“Zion…”

I inquired Zion about the intriguing news.

“The children who floated the toy boat on the river are dead.”

“I thought as much.”

I bit my lip.

‘Nigel would have wanted to kill those kids right in front of me.’

But now, Nigel is imprisoned.

“I’m glad you’re safe, young lady. The wizards say it’s a miracle that you weren’t hurt. And prince Cedric, who brought you here, is safe as well…”

I nodded.

“It’s a blessing that your life is not in danger. Please don’t push yourself.”

Zion came into my room multiple times to check on and take care of me.

I sighed.

‘I can’t bear it anymore.’

I felt frail like a sick chicken.

‘I have to admit, there’s nothing I can do if I go out of the mansion now.’

Staying still in times like this is the best solution.

‘I guess for now, I can only hope for ‘that’.’

I fell into a deep sleep again.

* * *

I woke up at dawn.

And found someone staring at me from beside the bed.

My throat felt parched as a dry field when I opened my mouth, it even hurt to speak.

“Hello, Ko.”

I smiled faintly.

“Have you been well?”

The one looking at me from beside the bed was Ko, the orphan boy our family had been taking care of.

I always thought he looked cute, but now he looked somewhat different, maybe due to his change in attire.

A pointed, pale white face. Big eyes on top of it. Dressed in noble boy clothes, though worn out. His changed appearance even looked pretty.

He seemed to have grown taller and matured in the short period.

“I sent a note to the Information Guild to find you. With the current situation in the capital, I’m not sure if they’re working or not.”

The content of the note was simple.

It was to find Ko, the only survivor of the vampire’s blood poisoning.

‘Back then, I thought it wasn’t the poison of vampire blood, but a real epidemic.’

I thought Ko might have…

A hint to cure the epidemic.

Perhaps he developed antibodies.

“Angel, were you tracking me?”

“Yes.”

I nodded honestly.

“But I lost you while I was out of the capital.”

I thought this epidemic was unusual.

That’s why I tracked Ko since the day he disappeared. Even the Information Guild, known to find anything, lost track of Ko.

Ko looked at me with a vacant expression like a corpse and then spoke softly.

“How far can you see and know, angel?”

“This time, I don’t know anything. It’s just a hunch.”

Ko stepped closer.

“Angel, why did you save and bring me to this mansion? Why were you kind to me? When did you start trying to use me?”

“I never tried to use you. It’s the same answer no matter how many times you ask. I just wanted to help you.”

“…”

“If I wanted to use you, I would have forcibly kept you here.”

Ko stared intensely at me.

I sat up.

I could see my reflection in the mirror next to the bed, as pale as Ko, dressed in a white nightgown.

“How did you get in here?”

“I now have the ability to meet you whenever I want.”

It sounded strange to me. Ko bowed to me.

“Do you know, angel?”

“Hmm?”

“There exists an antidote for the blood of the ancient vampire.”

Thump.

My heart raced.

How did he know that…?

“What? How would I know that?”

Ko whispered something into my ear.

My eyes widened, and my hands trembled involuntarily.
