How to Be a Dark Hero’s Daughter

Chapter 180.1

Every day flows by serenely.

‘Doctor Siebel is still too controlling of me.’

Up until recently, I couldn’t get out of the greenhouse. I was attended to by the maids there, reading books or studying.

And about a month ago, I was able to venture outside my room a little.

‘This place is an old fortress. The last asset of the white wizards.’

I slowly explored the old castle.

‘I’m slowly getting a grasp of the daily life here.’

It seemed to move at a leisurely pace, but it was busier than anywhere else.

“Are all these people Doctor Siebel’s clients?”

A massive number of letters always arrived for Siebel.

However, they weren’t delivered through the post office. There was no seal or stamp on them.

‘There must be a secret communication route.’

The content of the letters was mostly from the ‘clients’.

“This case is interesting. I would have made it more perfect.”

Doctor Siebel calls himself a ‘consultant’. What he consults on is… hmm. He aids others in plotting or killing.

“The difference between those who create incidents and those who resolve them, that is, criminals and detectives, is just a piece of paper.”

“Then I should become a detective too. To help you.”

I was amazed reading the letter.

“It’s astonishing. Both the king of the rebelling Shen kingdom and the rebel leader are Doctor Siebel’s clients.”

“Neither of them wants to end the war. I secretly tell both of them how to kill each other.”

“So, as a result, they maintain a delicate balance of power, and both seek control?”

I was shocked looking at Siebel’s client list. There was a surprising variety of people.

“Doctor, did you kill this client? Why? For the wealth?”

Sometimes when I noticed something Siebel hadn’t taught me, he smiled as if he was very pleased.

“You’re really sharp, Leticia.”

Two months later, Siebel sought various pieces of advice from me. I even wrote letters on his behalf a few times.

“With this method, you can kill the heir and monopolize all the assets. A perfect trick, isn’t it?”

“Amazing, Leticia.”

Siebel admired.

‘He doesn’t trust people easily.’

Even though I’m his top student, he often seemed wary of me. I wonder why?

‘If I do more praiseworthy things, will he trust me?’

But what was unsettling wasn’t just that. Every so often, I felt like I missed something.

I lay on the bed, brushing over the empty bed.

‘Who was that person?’

There was one memory, empty like a blank space.

‘Kiss.’

I touched my lips.

I had kissed someone… in the dark shadow… under the moonlight…

‘Pink moon.’

And…

‘I walked hugging a field of yellow flowers.’

Who was that person? As I thought about it, I felt a splitting headache.

“Ugh!”

I felt nauseous. Something seemed to jump out from my stomach.

My heart hurt coldly.

“What is this!”

I looked in the mirror. Something was shining from my heart. I screamed.

“Leticia!”

The maids, hearing my scream, rushed in. All the maids in this house were trained and had strong grips. They pinned me to the floor.

“It’s starting again!”

“Quickly, get the injection!”

Slowly, I lost consciousness.

Was it all a dream? Even in that moment, I looked in the mirror. The light at my heart was gone…

‘What happened last night?’

The next day, with a blank memory, I headed to Siebel’s study.

“Doctor, Is your name really Siebel?”

Resting my cheek on the table, I looked up. Siebel, moving a chess piece, looked at me and gave a twinkling smile.

“The identity is fake, but the name is real.”

“How did you manage that?”

“The real Doctor Siebel was a scholar researching germs. A few years ago, he received a request to study an epidemic and headed to a temple.”

“And then?”

“I happened to sit across from him on a train. We talked, and I came to know a few things.”

I pricked up my ears.

“First, the real Siebel was going to the Grand Temple first to attend a ceremony. It was a ceremony for a popular young Saintess named Marianne. He was scheduled to meet her.”

“You wanted to approach her?”

Marianne. Who was Marianne?

“Yes.”

“Hmm…”

It feels like I’m about to remember something?

“Yes. Secondly, by chance, Siebel was someone who shared the same name as me. On the surface, he seemed to be around my age, and I had knowledge equivalent to that of a doctor.”

“So you killed him?”

“Yes.”

“Doctor, as always, you are ruthless. You stole Siebel’s identity and became the ‘Doctor’.”

I chuckled.

“Since then, it has been really interesting. I hid the body in Doctor Siebel’s lab, but no one who came thinking I was the real Doctor Siebel could find the body.”

Hmm, I nodded. Siebel continued.

“Thanks to that, I was able to approach Marianne. To seduce her, I had to show my face first.”

I smirked.
