Chapter 178.1
“Shush, be quiet.”
Siebel was laughing with his eyes spinning around.
‘How is he still alive?’
He’s definitely the person I had killed by burying in the dirt. But not only was he not dead, there wasn’t a single scratch on his skin.
I pressed my gun hard under Siebel’s chin, pinning him against the wall.
“If you talk nonsense, I’ll blow your jaw off.”
“Ah, that’s fine, but if you scream or make a loud noise, my colleague will kill Marianne and throw her body out of the train.”
Damn. I clenched my teeth. It was as expected.
“You anticipated that and jumped in here, didn’t you? Well, if you hadn’t jumped in, Marianne would have died.”
“…”
“You’re smart, Leticia. You quickly catch on to what I want. We get along so well.”
Bastard. I mumbled under my breath.
“I did anticipate that Marianne would be captured somewhere in this train compartment.”
Siebel slightly pushed away the gun.
“You can’t kill me like this.”
“I’ll tear you apart if I have to.”
“That sounds exciting. But since we have a bond, let’s do it in a sweeter way if you’re going to kill me.”
I kicked Siebel’s shin. Even though he stumbled, he chuckled.
“Where’s Marianne?”
“She’s sleeping deeply.”
“What’s the exchange condition?”
“You’re quick. Well, let me think.”
Siebel pretended to ponder. In my mind, I imagined beating Siebel dozens of times.
“One minute.”
“…”
“Give me one minute with Leticia. At my chosen place, right now.”
“If I tolerate whatever you do during that minute and listen to whatever you say, you’ll release Marianne?”
“Do you mean release her alive or release her dead?”
“Playing with words won’t work. Release her alive. Without a single scratch. Perfectly fine.”
After staring at him intently, he nodded. As I pretended to follow him into the train compartment, I pulled the trigger of the gun.
Bang!
The magic bullet hit the train ceiling.
“Oh, you really shouldn’t be off guard.”
“Ugh!”
I was pushed to the floor. A girl with cat-like eyes was on top of me.
“Hurry up, Doctor!”
My eyes widened.
“Nigel?”
Nigel, Ranbi’s subordinate?
I knew Nigel was suspicious, but… he looked different.
‘I’m sure Nigel was a man, not in disguise, but for real…’
But the Nigel on top of me now had changed.
A woman? I gasped in disbelief. How deep did these vermin infiltrate?
“Hurry, do the third kiss!”
Nigel shouted sharply. At that moment, Siebel’s finger touched my forehead.
“Ugh!”
It was burning hot. I shuddered. My mind went blank for a moment.
‘Why… why am I like this?’
My vision wavered. The image of Siebel moved farther and then closer.
“This was quicker than I thought. The third time. Now, it’s over.”
Siebel whispered.
What does that mean? I blinked. The female-looking Nigel stabbed something into my neck.
‘No, Marianne…’
Marianne, please…
I crumpled to the floor. Nigel and Siebel laughed gleefully.
“What are you doing here?”
A crew member approached. I lifted my head.
‘Ah…’
Blood sprayed before my eyes. Nigel had stabbed the crew member in the chest.
The warm blood touched my cheek.
‘I need to… confirm that Marianne is safe…’
My eyes slowly closed. I felt strong arms lifting my upper body.
And then, I lost consciousness.
