Chapter 163.1
“That person who always walks around smiling brightly?”
“Yes. Despite appearances, Nigel is incredibly smart. He’s so good at developing mischievous games. It was Nigel who first taught me the game where we swap and disguise ourselves. He’s phenomenal at disguising. Besides, he always finds the best ways to mess with the servants.”
Leticia’s tight lips curled into a smile.
“…How long has Nigel been doing the escort work?”
“Not even a few months! But he feels like such an old friend.”
“Have you seen him recently?”
“Oh, I sent him to the Serota Kingdom to find a way to save us. He was so funny, crying and promising to save us, all teary-eyed.”
“When did he leave?”
“Last night!”
Leticia felt like her head was spinning.
These fools! They should be more suspicious! But she didn’t have the time to tell them that. She abruptly stood up.
“I must excuse myself.”
She left hurriedly.
“Is she suspecting me of playing games? On the day I’ve set dates with several ladies at once.”
Recalling Leticia’s rushed departure, Iroha scratched her head in confusion.
* * *
The hotel maid was excited.
‘Will he be in his room today?’
On the silver tray in her hand was the wine he always orders and freshly picked flowers from that morning.
‘I should gift these flowers to the special guest in the VIP room.’
The seventeen-year-old loved her trips to the top-floor VIP room the most.
Because ‘he’ always tipped generously and was the kind of handsome gentleman she couldn’t see in the countryside.
Moreover, he always complimented her in the most dignified manner.
“Hello. How are you feeling today?”
She spoke as she entered the room. The guest, who was reading a letter near the terrace, looked up. A beautiful man with long flowing silver hair.
‘Is that a love letter he’s holding?’
She sneakily tried to look, hoping it wasn’t.
“Feeling good. Did you pick that flower yourself?”
“Yes… The flowers bloomed this morning. They’re chrysanthemums.”
“They’re lovely. Thank you always, Margaret, for being so kind.”
He knows my name!
Margaret clenched her fists secretly. At the peak of her dating age, dreaming of such a relationship with an age-unknown handsome man was her prerogative.
“I’m expecting a guest later. It would be nice if you could serve tea, Margaret.”
“Yes! Just let me know when. I’d do it even without a tip.”
“You’re really kind, Margaret.”
Then, the door opened.
She turned around.
A guest? She should greet them with a bright smile. So that this person can see her cute smile.
“Huh?”
She felt a sudden sting near her neck.
“Wh…at?”
She touched her neck. A man who had just entered the room was holding a pin and grinning evilly at her.
“Ah!”
Margaret tried to scream. But before she could, the guest covered her mouth.
“Hello, Doctor Siebel. Still using that name?”
“It’s been a while, Nigel.”
Falling into unconsciousness, Margaret faintly heard their casual greetings.
Thud.
Margaret’s body fell to the floor.
She was shaking, drooling.
‘It hurts, it hurts!’
Margaret’s spasming movements ceased.
“Is she dead?”
“Yes. Instantly.”
Nigel responded cheerfully. Siebel clicked his tongue, looking at Nigel.
“Tsk, I told you not to test it on just anyone.”
Nigel shrugged and examined the pin.
“It’s rewarding to see that almost everyone dies with this injection.”
“Why did you suddenly kill this poor girl?”
“It’s been a while since I last saw the doctor, but she was acting too familiar with you.”
Siebel smirked.
“How will you be my disciple if you hate every woman around me? Plus, you’re still moving around as a man.”
Nigel laughed. He then removed an earring.
“You’re skillfully using the magical tool.”
“Yes, if not for this magical tool that shows the opposite gender, Leticia would’ve discovered my identity. She could discern even the finest disguises in a second, right?”
“She would. She has an incredibly keen eye.”
Nigel’s appearance began to slowly transform.
He got shorter, and his brown hair became even glossier. Eventually, he transformed into a young girl with androgynous beauty.
“When you came to save me, buried in the sand by Leticia’s magic bullet gun, I thought you were some unknown man.”
“It’s been a long time since you saw me, so you must have forgotten my male appearance. Now, this is the original me that you knew.”
Nigel greeted gracefully, like an actor on stage.
“Why did you give me a male name like Nigel when I’m a female?”
“Because Nigel is the real name of the identity you forged.”
“That’s insincere. Give me a prettier name. Like Leticia.”
Saying that, Nigel licked her lips.
“Do you feel accomplished seeing her with your own eyes?”
“Oh, it was so good. She’s truly amazing. Cute, lively, yet melancholic, and smart too. I nearly choked her. She’s too pretty.”
“Even when you were young, the ones I raised had to be beaten to be tamed.”
“Like Walter? I’m not like that traitor, Doctor.”
Nigel slowly approached and sat at the foot of the chair where Siebel was sitting.
“Be gentle with Leticia when you get her.”
“I feel like tormenting such a lovely child.”
“Still, hold back.”
Reluctantly, Nigel nodded. She silently looked at the transformed body of Margaret.
“Take care of the body properly.”
“Yes, it would be problematic if such a body were found.”
Blue lines protruded from Margaret’s neck and chest. Soon, those traces disappeared, leaving only clean skin. The corpse looked as pale as a piece of white candle.
Nigel’s chuckling echoed above Margaret’s body.
