Chapter 27: Overwhelming Power of The God of War
(Third Person POV)
As chaos ensued on the battlefield, Drakken straightened up and watched the way that the Bracken forces tumbled over each other, scattering about. The impact of the boulders that had fallen on them was enough to stagger their army and the sudden appearance of the trenches added more to the damage.
As this happened, the third group was still firing arrows in the sky and as they fell down, they pierced the Bracken soldiers with ease. Despite this entire situation, the Bracken forces still outnumbered the Blackwoods currently in the field. And Drakken was well aware of this, but did not care.
"Time to settle this." He said with a chuckle
He then crouched down again and grabbed a bit of grass from a small patch next to the circle. Lord Blackwood watched as he waved his hand over the circle, small strands of grass fell over the moving dots of the Brackens inside it.
Something in the back of Lord Blackwood told him to look up and as he did, he saw that the entire sky was blocked out by a massive cloud of projectiles that rained down hard.
"By the gods..." He muttered, "What is this....?"
Drakken smirked, "My power."
Arrows hailed down hard, piercing through every single one of the Bracken soldiers. Every second that passed, more and more waves of arrows rained down hard, filling the entire field with nothing but sharp arrows and leaving nothing but piles of corpses. The entire field, once green with grass, was stained with red and left a horrid sight.
It had not even been more than half an hour since the battle had started and Drakken was quite satisfied with the results. Thousands lay dead in the field, a serious stench of death filled the air as on the far end of the battlefield, a few hundred Bracken soldiers stood there, watching in pure shock as their army was completely obliterated.
"This..." Tytos Blackwood said, "This is inhumane, completely unbelievable....what kind of power is this?"
"You hard of hearing?" Drakken said with a serious scowl, "My power."
Drakken then looked down at the circle, seeing that it was glowing brightly and pulsating with light.
Lord Blackwood was overtaken with disbelief, completely baffled at the impossible display of power that was before him.
"I...." He said, "What have I done?"
"Hm." Drakken ignored him, "Seems this is the limit of the battle. Oh well, this was quite fun as short as it lasted. Beggars can't be choosers, let me reap the remains....Bring your main force in, a serious display of power is needed here."
Drakken then walked forward and jumped over the hill, landing several dozen meters away and on the start of the field.
The moment he set foot in the area, he felt it; the power that had spread all over.
He breathed the air in and felt nothing but excitement, "Hehe..." He said as he began to walk down the field, "Yes....this is the stuff...the good stuff....."
As he walked, he extended his arms outwards, a strange aura being emitted from his body. Something was off about this and Lord Blackwood saw this as the others merely stood there in shock, still processing what had just happened.
Drakken walked past the final group of a hundred men that were still there, unmoving. He had his eyes closed, his senses attuned to the surroundings, still hearing the echoes of battle. The ringing of steel clashing was prominent in his ears, it gave him a certain joy.
"Ha....." He said as he breathed in again, "Yes.....let us begin.....the sacrifice...."
His eyes shot open, a bright red glow emitted by them as he smirked viciously, his teeth becoming instantly sharp.
Suddenly, a vast wave of black flame-like energy spread across the battlefield, covering every single inch of the area.
Lord Blackwood saw this, "W-What is this?!"
Drakken began to chuckle as the energy began to seep into the ground, the corpses, the blood, and the remaining living Blackwood soldiers. The soldiers began to tremble in pain, their entire bodies shaking violently as they collapsed to their knees, the marks on their necks glowing brightly as steam emitted from them.
"Sol'Tyr's Reaping"
Suddenly, in a matter of seconds, the entirety of the energy that was spread throughout the area immediately swirled toward a single point; Drakken.
Drakken began to laugh maniacally, "Hahahahah!!!" He bellowed, "Yes!! All of it!! Give it to me all!!! The contract has been made!!! The God of War reaps his rewards!!! A momentary battle like this was able to give me this much juice?! I cannot imagine a full-scale war that spread across the lands!!! This is perfect!!!!"
The energy fully swirled into him as the ground began to shake slightly, his body stumbling a bit. Drakken then slouched over, grabbing his face as black veins appeared under his eyes, his eyes turning pitch black.
"Ahhh...." His voice was slightly distorted, "Yes....this is more like it....Sol'Tyr...your powers have been missed.....I, The God of War and Death will soon begin my conquest of this land....Chaos and Ruin will soon be spread....."
"For that is my nature, A Calamity."
************
(Third Person POV)
"What do you mean a black dragon was spotted over the Riverlands?!" Jaehaerys exclaimed as he slammed his hands on the table, "What is the meaning of this?!"
Septon Barth gulped, "I am not sure, Your Grace." He said, "But according to the descriptions, it is the same dragon known as the Cannibal."
"What?!' Jaehaerys exclaimed again, "That beast?!"
"What is even stranger....." Barth continued, "Is that someone was seen standing on it. I do not know how to explain it."
"S-Standing?" Queen Alysanne said, "How? They were riding on it while standing? Who is capable of doing that?"
"For crying out loud...." Jaehaerys said, "Isn't it obvious, Alysanne? It's that man....."
"Drakken?" Alysanne said, "You.....yes, you are correct. Only he would be capable of doing that, whatever he is. But what business does he have in the Riverlands? What does he want?"
"That's what I would like to know." Jaehaerys said, "Didn't he tell you anything? Something relating to his plan? You were with him when you sailed him to Dragonstone."
"He didn't mention anything of the sort." Alysanne frowned, "I don't know....I.....I cannot seem to remember?"
"What?" Jaehaerys said with a frown, "What do you mean?"
Alysanne looked down, sweat rolling down her forehead, "What do I mean....?" She said softly, "I do not feel well.....my mind is going blank.....I...I do not recall what I just said.....what were we speaking about?"
"The man known as Drakken." Jaehaerys said, "You took him to Dragonstone."
"Drakken?" Alysanne said as a faint red mark appeared on her neck, taking the shape of a dragon's claw, "I do not recall going to Dragonstone....Jaehaerys, are you feeling well?"
Jaehaerys was baffled, "W-What is going on?" He said as he noticed the mark, "Alysanne...."
"What has happened to you?"
