Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Hallow Bianka
After washing up and getting rid of all of the dust in his clothes in the nearby bathroom in his office, he opened the door, leaving his office to be met with a metal hallway crafted perfectly and inlaid with soft light gliding in between it.
If any attacks were to reach this place, several barriers shaped like hexagons would be active to block the damage and spread it out evenly. It's not unbreakable, but it will buy time like a Herrscher of Void shattering Space to break it.
Otto soon treaded along the hallway, making his way to his destination and his steps having a pop. His thoughts of elation gazed at the high-tech machinery that passed him.
'These walls are nice...Very nice.'
'Flying helper bots...They would be the perfect bombers.'
'Automatic trashcans...my god. My inner raccoon is awakening.'
His eyes scrutinized the gray rectangular box with interest. Whenever he puts a hand near it, the foldable flaps would sense movement and automatically open up to throw your garbage in.
With Otto living for 500 Years and with his archive of knowledge from the Previous Era, the world's technological advancement proceeded faster than ever.
There were also remarkable geniuses like Lieserl Albert Einstein and Frederica Nikola Tesla who aided in the development of the world with the use of workable mechs for improvement in work and labor.
'Such a shame they defected the North American Branch of Schicksal into Anti-Entropy. Well, Otto did try to nuke them and kill most of their friends. Congrats on myself for always provoking conflict, you should become a Hunter. A perfect Pathway for you!' He shamefully thought and kept on moving forward.
A few moments passed of walking, and he soon met a crowd of Valkyries, their eyes instantly dilated upon seeing a blonde man with emerald eyes dressed in olden noble clothes...It was their Boss, Otto Apocalypse.
Their expressions were composed, but hits of emotions like respect, dignity, and fear were present. Being one of the many Valkryie squads in Schicksal, they faced many vicious beasts but facing the man who ran a World Organization on fighting against the Honkai was a bit much.
"Hello, Snow Lotus Squad...Congrats on clearing that Honkai Outbreak in Greenland. No casualties and, with your squad's efforts, managed to defeat a Templar Class Honkai Beast. Your efforts will not be in vain and will be remembered by all."
His voice reached the squad's ears, and their faces lightened up hearing such words from him.
"Eh? He knows about us." A Valkyrie muttered with a perplexed expression.
"I can finally die in peace having my efforts be recognized."
His voice reached the squad's ears and their faces lightened up hearing such words from him.
"Thank you, Overseer I will be your blade and follow my oath to defeat the Honkai." A squad member proudly saluted and, driven by such an atmosphere, the rest of the Snow Lotus Squad took the same action.
'The Propaganda is strong in Schicksal...It won't be for too long. I'll beat the Honkai with a cane.'
"There's no need for formalities...I was passing by and wanted to greet you. Also, please don't end your life." He greeted them with a warm smile.
A brown-haired lady with a soft, round face started to blush from hearing his words and frantically tried to correct herself.
"It was a figure of speech...I-I-I simply didn't expect you to remember us."
"Nonsense, it's common courtesy to remember all of my Valkyries who are valiantly fighting the Honkai."
Another young woman with long, ecru hair trailing into white at the tips and an outlying white strand on the right side of her face.
Her cerise eyes stared at him before saying, "Do you know my name?"
He answered in a casual tone, "I do, Miss Ana. You are quite a hard-working Squad Member. Isn't that right, Miss Licht?"
The Leader of the Current Snow Lotus Squad was a tall, pale lady with eyes that were frosty cold but filled with a contradicting warmth. Her hair was a grayish-white with tints of gray let down onto her shoulders and back. A bluish winter coat akin to a witch's outfit was clinging to her body.
Her hand was clinched onto a metal cane engraved with flustering blue light as she stood still.
"Indeed...Thank you for your kind words to my Squad, Overseer. I hope to exceed your expectations." She said to him with her usual aloof eyes.
"But you already have an outstanding track record. Keep it up, I hope to see what you do next, Snow Lotus." He waved them goodbye and walked right past them while humming a soft melody.
Licht, seeing his backside, muttered under her breath " What a scary boss."
Otto stopped his pace and turned back to the Leader of Snow Lotus. His cheerful expression had a certain eerieness to it as he stared into her eyes and his smile could kill a person if one stared for too long.
Her face paled as she realized what she said.
'I shouldn't have said that out loud... Wait, why am I worrying? Why would he care about me calling that...I am just an A-Rank Valkryie Squad Leader please look away. Go do your morally gray scheming elsewhere'
Having been in the field for several years fighting the Honkai, she had experience with the so-called kind Overseer of Schicksal.
Licht had a sense of who had a darker tone than others, and that man...He was the most uncertain person she had ever seen, a literal embodiment of gray order itself, but also the only fighting chance against the Honkai...A necessary evil.
"Miss Licht..." He slowly parted his lips and spoke in a soft tone contrasting with his 'smile'
"I apologize for my-"
Before she could finish, he interrupted with a simple statement.
"Nice cane...As expected of a reasonable and wonderful squad leader like yourself. A cane can be used for self-defense and also allow us to "persuade" others as civilized people!" He passionately complemented it, and his eyes shined as he spoke.
"....Thank you?"
"I'll be going now, may you have a blessed day. Praise Schicksal!" He gracefully bowed toward the Snow Lotus Squad and left them in confusion.
"Uhh...Praise Schicksal."
After this encounter, the Snow Lotus Squad chatted about what happened.
"You think if I ask for an autograph he'll give one to me?"
"It's all or nothing!"
"Miss Licht are you alright," Ana called out to her Leader with a worried face.
"I am..." Her stoic face stood still, but inwardly she took some time to process her wild thoughts and ramblings. The grip on her cane tightened to the point of heat taking over.
'Damn, Overseer...I am always shivering whenever I am around him...Can't you give me a bonus every time you terrify me? What is he planning? Antarctica, I miss you my sweety.'
...
The Schicksal HQ Basic Physical Training Facility, a place where many Valkyries test and train their physical abilities to the limit. Several pieces of gym equipment were organized on the clean floor.
A closed white room with plenty of air conditioning to cool down the room for a perfect environment for exercise.
Treadmills are faster than a speeding train, dumbbells are heavier than an entire building, and weights could be used as throwable weapons of mass destruction. These were the spicy training equipment for Valkryie, who was granted access to such an accommodation.
On the side of the room were the normal ones where Valkryie, who performed inadequately in supernatural physical abilities, could perform in the kiddy pool version of it instead.
Well, from what he remembered, Otto was sure a B-Rank Valkryie with the proper equipment and the use of an Artificial Stigmata could topple a building.
Everything in the Universe is dangerous, of course, and with such equipment, there had to be safety measures, or if one's brain wasn't developed enough and thought it was a good idea to do a backflip while running on a treadmill.
That was what Otto thought when he soon went into the facility.
'So many wonderful weapons of chaos. Too bad I can't throw a dumbbell at an Honkai Beast. Only Honkai Energy-based weapons can do damage to them, or it's just that normal modern weapons like guns, and bombs can't do enough damage.'
His eyes turned to the empty gym until he found the person he was looking for.
A young blonde girl who was as tall as his chest but had an appearance that would grow as time passed, and her blue eyes reflected her determined endurance as she ran on a treadmill.
Her black tank top was drenched in sweat as she ran at a constant rate of 80 Kilometers per hour or in freedom units, 50 Miles per hour.
'Otto, what have you been feeding her...The good old Kaslana Trauma?'
Bianka noticed his gaze and stopped running with a push of a button. She got off the treadmill with a cheeky smile and stood in front of him.
"Sorry, I didn't notice you...I wanted to beat my record."
"No need for the formalities; it's normal for people to want to achieve their goal but I am hurt you decided to ignore me for a treadmill."
"Ha, is this one of your ploys again, changing the subject?"
"No, I just wanted to lighten the mood if I wanted to spend time with you...Is there any reason why you asked me of this instead of Rita?"
Her bright face turned sideways to avoid giving his eyes as she responded in a flustered tone.
"You and Rita are the closest ones I had, especially in your case. You're like a mentor figure to me or maybe like a good older sibling or father in some cases.
Whenever you teach, you're always gentle with me, not scolding me but calm as the sea and kind as the Sun.
You're the first face I woke up to when I lost my memories I wanted to know more about you and also...I like the bunny-shaped apples you cut for me."
Otto's face was still that of a smile when facing the training Valkryie, but Bianka could tell he was happy?
'I see the light now...I now know why you were so fond of Kaslana. They're so bright that you can't help but spoil them...They're so kind not to automatically murder when you reveal their whole existence was merely planned by you.'
He was silent for a moment before he said in a soft tone.
"I am about to cry tears of joy if you keep saying those words. I didn't expect you to have that image of me...But I hope to continue being seen like that.
Speaking of images as your proclaimed Mentor please stop causing collateral damage...I have to clean up whenever you suddenly throw a man's car at an Honkai Beast and then cause a chain reaction of explosions.
Luckily he had insurance and had to have him pay in hush money so that he wouldn't spill about the Honkai existing to the Public Masses."
High-ranking officials, governments, and those with political power know about the Honkai, but the reason why it is concealed from the public is that people don't panic and start going manic. It would destroy the social order if everyone started going crazy and knew about the world-ending Calamity.
Even if someone tried to spread such information, it would be automatically filtered within the media...Did you know that Honkai Eruptions and Outbreaks have a 99% Death Rate towards normal humans without any Honkai Adaptivity?
Bianka quickly turned her face and stared into his warm green eyes. Her nervousness was towed away from hearing his reply and quickly replied to defend herself
"I was in the thick of the moment, my mind was racing and so I thought the best solution was to take them all out in swoop."
Otto nodded his head, "A very sound strategy...How many did you take out."
"Twenty Knight Class Honkai Beast."
"Splendid indeed, that's Dudu for you."
Bianka immediately poked him in the chest, the only area where she was tall enough to do so.
"Arrgh...It sounds weird enough if you call me that!" Her face turned brighter and she looked away.
"Apologises if that made you uncomfortable...I thought if Rita did it, I could too." He shook his head in disappointment.
'I always wanted to call you Dudu, Goose, Duck, or Blade...'
"You didn't do anything wrong...It's just that it's oddly warm when you call me that. It's kinda odd that you are acting this way...I like it."
"Really now? Maybe because I am brimming with elation that I am acting this way...What did you think of me before?" He asked with curious eyes.
Without any hesitation, she answered, "Reserved, Gentle, and moderately strict but now you have a sort of fire in your eyes...Still frivolous though."
'Maybe because I am spiritually drained, and my coping mechanism is to laugh it off!'
"Such a sweet child! Would you like me to buy you a bucket of crispy juicy fried chicken from that place?" It was the classic Kaslana food.
The blonde girl's mouth started drooling from imagining it but she quickly shook her head, "No! Too many carbs. Don't corrupt me with such treats."
"Ashame that was one activity I wanted to do with you for family bonding." His face was sunken for he could not witness Bianka eat a whole bucket of fried chicken within a minute.
"Just take me to a fancy restaurant if you can."
"I have a better idea...Why don't you teach me how to fight?" He asked her.
"Me?" She pointed to herself with doubt, "I am sure Rita would make the perfect teacher if you asked her...A very studious lady. I am inadequate in teaching you. Most of my fighting skills are on the frontline and from my talent. If I teach you, it'll be similar to how a gorilla teaches a human how to swing trees...Also aren't you the commander and leader for us?"
"Indeed, but when the time comes, a leader must know when to throw out their hands onto a battlefield. Plus, isn't this killing two birds with one stone I can get to spend some time with you and learn how far you have developed?"
Bianka closed her eyes to organize her thoughts before answering.
"Okay, I'll train you, but call me...Master Bianka whenever I am teaching you." She folded her arms and gave him a cheeky smile with hints of smugness.
"Sure, Master Dudu...Whatever you need. I will comply"
"...You...You....You are a piece of work." Her previous expression faltered at his words and her stuttering was apparent.
"Why thank you...Master Dudu! I too think you're also a wonderful Valkryie."
Hearing this, Bianka's face faltered even more, and she soon remembered the lingering words from Rita, "Ah, to deal with Master Otto in your case...Play along, see what happens, and make things interesting."
'Play along and make it interesting?' Bianka grimaced in her mind how was she going to do that? She stared into his eyes to come up with something.
Meanwhile, in the mind of the Schicksal Overseer
'Wow! I am about to be taught by a 15-year-old girl who has to look up when talking to me how funny! Well, she can fold me in this body, but from the Avatars Otto made, I'd have a high chance of winning if I switched to a combat-oriented one.'
Otto Apocalypse is, in essence, a living body swapper. With his genius, he created a Backup System where Otto could abandon his body and transfer his consciousness to any of his backup bodies across the world. That is the sole reason why Otto could live for 500 years.
"Firstly, I need to know where your current level is. There's no to do any fitness test with your Frankensteinish body-swapping technology you have...Ah!" Bianka quickly tried covering her mouth, but it was apparent that wasn't going to work.
"Did Rita spill about that? I don't mind since in the future I am planning for you to work with me. My fault that I didn't tell you so soon. Tragic if you find out I died and then pop, you see a dead man walking the next moment. Is there anything else she told you? Hopefully, not anything confidential."
"Nope! We should make our way to the sparring room as quickly as we can. Don't want someone to take our spot."
Otto's eyes glanced at the rushing figure of Bianka off to another room of the facility, and he glanced at the empty gym.
"Ha..."
The smile on his dimmed upon his thoughts turning over to the young blonde girl Bianka Ataegina, a child born from the crossing between the two noble houses of Kaslana and Schariac.
Who happened to "lose" her memories in an Honkai Outbreak and became the perfect weapon for Schicksal that Otto groomed the moment she woke up in a hospital with a blonde green-eyed man cutting a plate of apples for her.
...Her past was shrouded in mysteries and erased from the confines of her mind by Otto Apocalypse to free her from her family's curse.
The truth was he wanted the perfect Valkyrie with the two strongest bloodlines mixed all for the greater good of humanity.
Otto Apocalypse was a hypocrite...Lin could see it even under the facade of a manipulator intending to achieve his goal no matter what...Otto cared for Bianka, even if he hid deep within his soulless heart...He was a human.
A human that planned for the girl named Bianka Ataegina to stab in his heart to seek revenge for deceiving her of the truth of the matter, but for the Otto of now.
"I hope you won't despise me, Kiana...My plans are beyond stupidity."
