"Oh, another newbie?!"

This time, even Tesla stopped sleeping. Everyone's attention was focused on the newly arrived girl.

"Dad, aren't you worried about someone calling the cops, running back like that?" Kiana asked, looking at the sweaty Siegfried. He had even carried the girl all the way back just to get here faster.

She couldn't imagine what would happen if anyone else had seen him.

"Nah, a little thing like the cops is nothing compared to the possibility of scaring people with a flying head," Siegfried said, dropping the dizzy Wendy onto the sofa. He plopped down and poured himself a glass of water.

"So, how's this newbie doing?"

Doctor Tesla scanned Wendy, knowing exactly what was going on with her body. Her main concern was Wendy's mental state.

"Not too good. It's not that she's weak-willed, but she's just a bit... weird..."

Siegfried took a couple of sips of water and started explaining Wendy's situation.

Wendy was originally a Valkyrie under Theresa's command. Then, one day, Theresa saw how skilled she was and told her...

'Little girl, I see you're quite skilled. Would you like to try becoming the host of a Herrscher core?'

Wendy didn't think too much about it, and was full of passion for contributing to humanity.

How could this young girl ever resist such encouragement from her superior? She immediately agreed to go onto the experiment table, without even understanding the basic 'safety risks.'

But she clearly wasn't 'sacrificial' enough, and now she was in this situation.

Wendy still had some respect for humans. She thought she deserved praise for her sacrifices, at least some basic kindness as a human being.

But Wendy did not feel that way towards Schicksal, especially towards Theresa, the factory foreman who didn't even explain the 'safety risks,' whom she hated to the bone.

And Theresa had her reasons. She had never actually seen what kind of problems would arise when injecting someone with a Herrscher core before.

For an ordinary person, contact with such a high concentration of Honkai energy from a Herrscher core would mean instant GG.

If even Wendy, whose body was modified as a Valkyrie, and a potential S-rank, couldn't succeed, then the experiments injecting ordinary humans with Herrscher cores would be even harder to succeed.

And the strategic value of S-rank Valkyries was too high, so Bishop Otto wouldn't allow them to do such a low-success-rate experiment on them. They needed someone like Wendy, who had the potential of being an S-rank but wasn't actually one yet.

Kiana looked at Wendy's gloomy little face with an expression that screamed, 'You poor thing.'

She then asked, "Since the experiment has already failed, why don't you just remove the Herrscher core?"

Wendy was silent for a moment, then said, "Because the Herrscher core has already fused with my legs. It can only remain stable inside my body."

Tesla opened her mouth to speak, but as a doctor, she didn't want to be the one to ask such a thing.

So, this difficult task fell on the shoulders of the honest Noldrei.

"Uh, if it can't remain stable outside your body, how was it stored before it was implanted in you?"

"These people are terrible! If she's in pain, just help her solve it! If you can't, then at least tell her what's going to happen in the future! If she can't take it, help her end her suffering early! Don't just squeeze her dry, using her as a living safe! It'd be more dignified to just die!"

Noldrei was disgusted by this kind of behavior. He looked at Wendy solemnly and said, "Don't worry, I'll definitely cure you!"

Raiden Mei immediately moved three steps away, sticking to the wall in fear of being accidentally swept by Noldrei's tentacles.

Wendy thought he was just giving her a small gift before she died.

She thought she would be dead soon anyway, and wasn't particularly fond of that My Little Pony cartoon. She'd only watched it on the educational channel when she was in New Zealand.

Honestly, it was pretty good. After all, Wendy was only a middle schooler; she had some understanding of things like Barbie and My Little Pony.

"Don't worry, you won't die. I'll help you separate your head from your body. That way, the Herrscher core won't kill you due to the separation."

"They already have head transplant surgeries in this era, so a new body is a piece of cake."

Noldrei reached out and grabbed Wendy's neck, and with one hand, he detached her head.

While everyone was stunned, the detached head wriggled up his arm and onto his shoulder.

A soft limb grew from his shoulder, and directly grafted Wendy's head onto his body.
