'So, long story short, this world is so dangerous that humanity and the planet could suffer- or rather- already faced extinction multiple times'

In a dark cave, a blue-haired blue-eyed woman who was bound by two ginormous pillars was staring at the silver-haired boy opposite of her who was sitting in a chair made of ice

'And… For most of your life, you were aware of the dangers of this world, and yet you were so weak that you lived your life in fear of randomly dying any random day?'

Olivia Servant frowned as she spoke- not at him, but she only seemed dissatisfied with his situation

"That's right'

Adam simply replied to her summary of what he told her

….

And told her he did

He didn't say anything about his reincarnation or the Chat Room… But he did say that this wasn't his original world, and that he obtained the power to travel to other worlds… with limits

'Arhhgg, how frustrating.' She rapidly shook her head 'For me, there is mostly boredom and loneliness in this dungeon, but you… You not only knew of the danger, but you were also hopeless as you even had no chance to do anything at all!'

"It's fine"

The silver-haired boy shook his head with a wry smile

Truthfully, he was over it.

He has already obtained the necessary power to survive and even thrive in this world

And he has already gotten to know so many people…

People he cares about, and who also care about him in turn

For him, he hadn't noticed how mentally exhausting and damaging his situation was only after he obtained power and truly relaxed

Even with the knowledge of Honkai's danger, he could have certainly lived far away from these disasters, and experienced a worry-free life while leaving everything to the protagonists of this world

But Adam did not do that

Why? Because he just couldn't

He couldn't live in peace when knowing the truth of this world

He couldn't truly enjoy his life when he knew about honkai- about the dangers and even opportunities it presented

And he said as much to Olivia.

'I can obviously feel that you weren't fine' The bound woman pouted 'If I could move freely, I would have hugged you right now!'

She smiled, moving her hands-

Shingggg

Which only rattled the chains binding her in place

It seemed that… she was more..... cheerful?

Perhaps getting to know about the outside world- or hell, another world entirely- made her more lively

It makes sense. Everyone would be the same if they were trapped in a gloomy and depressing dungeon….

'Though, it is good that you now have power and don't have to worry about dying suddenly' She tilted her head, nodding 'And you said that you grew to care about some girls, right? It seems that you also want to protect them'

"Hm, well…. Instead of protecting them all the time, I would prefer for them to grow, so they could protect themselves with their own powers" Adam put a hand on his chin thoughtfully, expressing his true thoughts "Though… I guess I could actually assist them in that process"

'That is even better!' Olivia's eyes lit up 'Though… You would need even more power to do that, right?'

She tilted her head once again, looking at him questioningly 

"I think my current power is enough to help them" He shrugged "But then again, I would never say no to more power. After all, I never want to stagnate and stop growing"

'...Ah, that is good….'

Olivia nodded, a small gloomy smile emerging on her face

"...Is that gloomy smile because you were reminded of how you got trapped in that dungeon?"

Adam asked knowingly 

'Yes….' She sighed, slumping on her chains 'I was too confident in my abilities…. I got careless and then I was caught off guard.'

"And you think having a desire for power would have changed that outcome?"

He asked, puzzled by her twisted logic. 

At that time, she was arrogant and overconfident. That has nothing to do with a desire for power

'Maybe….'

The voice of the woman in chains came off as barely above a whisper

'.....'

"...."

Silence was all that remained in this dark cave that housed two people

Adam didn't disturb this silence, as he could see that Olivia was deep in thought

'Hey, Adam…'

"Hm?"

'Do you want my skills?'

The silver-haired boy froze right in his icy seat

"Your…." He stared at her blankly, processing her words "...Skills?"

'Yep' She nodded noncommittally 'You understand my situation, right?'

"Pretty much, yeah"

'I have also partly understood yours…. You have been weak all your life, and suddenly, you got power' She blinked at him, a smile slowly emerging on her face 'You summoned me here…. Though I am sealed, I do have something I can give you.'

"You want to give me something? Why?"

At his question, Olivia's face turned gloomy

'Ah…. You just remind me of someone' She smiled self-depreciately, her eyes filled with sadness 'And while I can't teach you anything…. There is indeed one thing I can give you'

Adam closed his eyes, tapping his fingers on his icy chair, deep in thought at her words

'You remind me of someone'

That is not a pleasant phrase to hear

Fortunately, his knowledge of Olivia, while shallow, still clearly consists of one thing

That person he reminded her of is neither her lover, nor her father

That means…. She has neither daddy issues, nor ex issues

As Adam reached her, he put a hand on her shoulder and….smiled

"Don't talk like that. I will free you from these chains"

Though his face was nonchalant, his voice sounded with a sharp edge- it was as if it was not mere determination, but an already established fact that she would be free

He has so many powers…. Mere chains would not be enough to stop him

'....'

The woman bound in chains looked at him, her eyes dazed

'Thanks, Adam!' 

She smiled once again, her blue eyes clear

'-But I still want to give you my skill'

"But-"

'No buts! Take my skill!'

"Huh? Why-?"

'I just want to. Now stop refusing me!'

"....."

Adam let out a sign, rubbing his forehead in frustration

"I never imagined that you'd be so willful…."

He shook his head

Truly, he never imagined that the main heroine of a harem anime would be so stubborn and willful 

Then again…. Rias is also stubborn, willful, lazy, and arrogant. So he shouldn't be surprised

'Thanks'

"...It wasn't a compliment"

Adam sighed once again, shaking his head

'Can you touch me?'

Olivia spoke up once again, her voice being in a matter-of-fact tone

"...."

The silver-haired boy's eyebrows twitched. He looked at her with a weird gaze

'Um…' Noticing his stare, her blue eyes shifted sideways, avoiding his gaze 'I mean….My head'

"...."

Adam put his hands in the pockets of his coat

"Are you sure?"

'Yeah, now touch me!'

She instantly replied to his question- absolutely no hesitation or shame in her voice, in fact, her voice even took a commanding edge

"Okay, okay" He rolled his eyes in exasperation, raising his hand "This is the first time a woman has begged me to touch her…. At least, outside of a 'battle in bed'.... But fine"

The silver-haired boy finished speaking as his hand touched her head

Then-

"Ah…."

Adam shivered, a chill running down his spine as he felt something foreign entering his soul

[Foreign existence detected…. Preliminary analysis detected a similarity of existence to the [World's voice] skills....]

Seeing it had no malicious intent, and that [Great Sage] had already partly analyzed it and didn't brand it as malicious….

He had no reason to resist, so…

The silver-haired boy closed his eyes, trying to focus on feeling the skills Olivia imparted upon him

'How…. are you… feeling?'

Opening his eyes, the first thing that came upon sight was Olivia's exhausted but satisfied face

"Are you okay?"

Frowning in concern, he asked

'Fine….' She shook her head, as if trying to clear away her dizziness 'Your soul… isn't … normal. It… took… a lot… out of me…'

"Your free will is revoked. You won't die- and I won't allow you to perish"

After his disregarding reply, Adam's frown remained

'Ehe…..I was… joking'

Despite her tiredness, the blue-haired woman's smile widened even more at his reply

"....."

Again, why is she so tired?

It didn't make much sense…. He didn't resist the thing Olivia put inside him… So why was she so exhausted?

Maybe Aura-

'Wait….Aura?'

A thought just occurred to him

"Hey Olivia…." Hand still on her head, Adam called out to her "I think I can make you less tired… But you have to open up, and not resist"

'Ok…ay'

Her simple response came out faint

"Alright, this is going to be the first time I do this…. So prepare yourself"

And, with that announcement, the hand on her head glowed

No, it wasn't just his hand that glowed

In fact, Adam's whole body was glowing- a vibrant golden-blue glow that seemed to illuminate the cave, eliminating the darkness surrounding them

It was Aura, the manifestation of the soul- or at least, this is the best way to describe it

And-

The glow around the silver-haired boy coalesced into his arm, moving right into his palm, and flowing out of it, into Olivia's head

"Let's try Chakra, too"

A faint purple glow emanated from Adam's palm that rested on the woman's head

No, in fact, it wasn't faint- but compared to the brightness that was Adam's Aura, it was right to call it dim

"Chakra is physical and mental energy combined…. It should help you in feeling better"

He didn't have any experience with Chakra.

As a matter of fact, it was his first time using this new energy. And he only obtained it some hours ago

Aura was easy to transfer. Not only because he was more familiar with it and that he experienced being on the receiving end of a transfer with Melanie

… But also because of [Aura Control]

Though he didn't have such a thing for Chakra….

He still had the ultimate cheat, the single thing that can make anyone as overpowered as a protagonist with plot armor….
