Chapter 914: Finale-1

What did she just say? Change the chairman? This was absolutely beyond everyone's expectations.

Delphina's prosperous proposal ignited another of set of explosive murmurs. Originally, it was only issue about the heir but now she was covening the meeting for new chairman.

Alan was frightened. Did his sister lost her mind under pressure? He thought they were rivals but that didn't seem to be the case. He wasn't even qualified to be her opponent.

While he was jumping with joy sure about his victory his sister was targeting a big fish, no, she was targeting the man himself the giant who was at the helm of the empire for decades!

Just hearing her speak to their father in sich a demanding tone was enough to send chills down his spine. Challenging the cunning old man was something which would never cross any sane person's mind.

He had been in his shadows for past few years and had seen how he would ruthlessly dealt with his enemies. He would not wish that fate to even his worse enemies!

But suddenly he felt a surge of joy wash over his body. He finally knew his sister's arrogance had consumed her completely which made things much more simpler. Over time, He was going to force her out off the group but now that she was digging her own grave he was happy with this outcome.

He knew his father well, he might think highly of her but for him work and his prestige came first even before his life. He would never tolerate her disrespect, not infront of everyone.

" My dear daughter, do you know what you are talking about? I must warn you, this is not the place to play such serious pranks." Bernard eyes glint with a rage. His voice was cold devoid of any feelings along with complete change in his demeanor. He never thought his daughter would do something like this, he expected something clever not this nonsense!

Proposing to dismiss him as current chairman? Who gave her such a stupid idea? He finally glared at supposed culprit who was eyeing him too. Damn Rothschilds, was he behind all of this? Did they want to strain father and daughter relationship so that they could pull her away? He knew Delphina had the capabilities to do great things in the future, the young Rothschild must had noticed that too!

" It's not a prank. I would never joke about these things. I am serious." Delphina despite feeling the pressure pressed her father. She had mentally prepared herself for this day so she knew how her father would react.

" Delphina, I will give you another chance just because you are my daughter. Back down now and we will forget this ever happened, you understand?" He gave her a rare ultimatum. Be didn't want to lose his daughter regardless of how this night ended.

" No, I refuse. I will ask again, I want to propose the shareholder's meeting. As a major shareholder, I have every right to do so. Since every other members are here we could do it right here right now!" She stood her ground defiantly.

" Look, just by looking at your supporter I can say that it would never be enough. My deae daughter, you have truly disappointed me too much. I originally thought you would be more sensible about it but I guess I was weong to assume it. I never took you as a. impatient lady, have you forgotten my teachings? Do you think you can pull off such a stunt without any retribution?" He said coldly.

" Father, that's where you are wrong. Yiu have been undermining my efforts for years. I stand before you to speak my truth with facts to backup my claims. I will never let my incompetent brother inherit this company!"

" Very well." He shook his head feeling a tinge of sadness. It seemed he really pressured her to the point that she lost her mind. He should have kept a close eye on her company and who she was hanging with especially that Rothschild boy. It must be him who poisoned the well! Find exclusive stories on empire

" Let me teach you a final lesson then. First of all to initiate this meeting, you have to have a support of specific shareholder who holds more than ten percent of the shares. Looking at your group I can firmly say you don't have such a individual in your corner.

Look behind you, which one of them exceed this specific ratio?" He sneered glancing at people behind her who promptly shy away from his direct gaze feeling embarrassed.

" Mr Bernard, you don't need to worry about this rule." Under Bernard's overwhelming pressure, Samuel was the first to stood up walking to her side.

" Young man, I know you are trying to muddy the waters. I don't care who you are but this conversation doesn't concerns an outsider like you." He knew the young man was conspiring something big but he couldn't let ot all happen according to his wishes. His first priority was to protect his daughter!

" Mr Bernard, for your information, I hold more than ten percent of LVHM shares. Isn't it enough to convene said meeting?" His words were like thunder showing his support for Delphina.

Still, the old man couldn't believe it. How did he manage to buy such a large amount fo shares right under his nose?

The surrounding guests were also shocked by his revelations. One must know that LVHM was not a small company. It's market value was more than thirty billion dollars, one could easily calculate how much money he sank into this endeavour! It was simply unbelievable considering the baffled expression on old man's face. He was just as surprised as them hearing his words!

" Delphina, I can't believe you would do something so stupid. Have you lost your mind? Inviting these hungry wolves at sich a critical point of our development!" Bernard was really angry. He never thought his daughter would stoop this low, gambling the company's future.

" I knew you might be worried about such a thing but all my shares are inconsequential. I am only interested in reaping profits and the weight of my voting rights are signed over to Delphina permanently. If I want to dissolve my position, she would have the first right to buy me back.

I will not participate or interfere in company business at any capacity." Samuel quickly dispelled his suspicion because he expected it.

Still the old man didn't know why he would do such a thing. Was such a large amount of money nothing in his eyes or was there really something going on between him and his daughter?

Under his eyes, Delphina involuntarily showed a slight blush which answered his questions. Could this be the secret they were hiding? But as far as he knew his daughter wasn't into people of his character.

Samuel was a player, he would never stop sleeping around and his daughter was someone who valued loyalty seriously. Her taste was bizzare but he knew she had strong morals and integrity.

Meanwhile, Alan was already sweating bullets. Everything that could have gone wrong was wrong! Seeing his sister standing so close to the devil really put her in new light in his eyes. He never knew she was capable of loving anything other than her job!

"Well, my dear daughter, I admit that I underestimated you, but the number of shares you currently own doesn't seem to be in majority. If my memory aerves me right, combining my and your Uncle Kent's shares would account to thirty one percent of the business."

" If we add the support of people behind me, we can easily surpass forty five percent just shy from a majority. If we do the math, you and your friend here could onky gather about forty percent of the shares. This is not enough for you to replace me." Bernard Arnault laid out the facts, it was essentially his final struggle.

" Mr. Bernard, I only said that my share exceeded ten percent but the actual number is close to fifteen. I have delegated these shares to Delphina which would make our standing closer to your son's faction." Samuel smiled or more like grinned. He could see from old man's changing expression that his mind was spinning violently.

He would have never expected situation to be this dire even in his wildest dreams! The final nail in the coffin would be through someone else but he had to wait, letting his word sink in to those that were listening to their conversation.

Samuel actually spent more than four billion for this project. He knew the market value of the company which was thirty bilkion would balloon to a staggering two hundred in a decade.

It would be the most easiest layup of his life. A great addition to his firm's portfolio!

hmHis indifferences toward money was perplexing. They were not talking about chimp chance. It was billions of dollars, who would ever take a chance with such a capital? They knew Delphina had a ruthless businessman in her corner who would stop at nothing to recoup his investments!
