Hokage : My Nine tails are getting more and more

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Chūnin Mission

Naruto and Tenten exited the photo studio, the owner watching them leave with a puzzled expression. "Are today's young people always up to strange antics?" he muttered to himself.

Naruto, however, was thrilled. He now had five million more silver coins in his pocket. Of course, Tenten wasn't going to hand over that kind of money every day; this would have to wait until their return to Konoha.

Although Naruto didn't get his hands on Kado's wealth, he had managed to "liberate" a rich woman's funds. In his view, the trip wasn't a total loss.

As they parted ways, Naruto asked Neji one last question: "Hey, Neji, you've got great eyes. Did you see where Zabuza ran off to?"

Neji, annoyed but resigned, responded, "The northern port."

Naruto raised an eyebrow. The northern port? Back in the day, before the Land of Waves had its bridge, travel was conducted exclusively by boat. If Zabuza had escaped with Kado's money, that's where he would be.

Naruto didn't wait another moment. With a quick farewell to Tenten and the others, he picked up Neji—much to Neji's horror—and dashed toward the northern port.

---

At the Northern Port

Naruto stood atop a house, scanning the dilapidated harbor. "We're here. Now, where's Zabuza?" he asked Neji.

Neji, clearly uncomfortable from being carried like a sack of potatoes, demanded to be put down. When Naruto finally let him go, Neji stumbled but quickly regained his composure. He activated his Byakugan and scanned the area. After a moment, he pointed toward a rundown building. "That's where he is."

Without another word, Neji turned and sprinted away. Spending any more time with Naruto would only ruin his carefully cultivated aloof demeanor. Naruto didn't mind. He had only brought Neji along as a guide.

Jumping down from the roof, Naruto made his way toward the building. Before he could get close, two samurai guards stepped out, blocking his path.

"Hey, kid! This isn't a place for brats. Get lost!" one of them barked.

Naruto's cheerful demeanor vanished, replaced by a chilling calm. His eyes glowed with Kurama's scarlet hue, and an overwhelming murderous intent surged from his body like a tsunami.

The samurai froze, their eyes rolling back as they collapsed to the ground. Inside his mind, Kurama chuckled.

"Not bad, kid," the Nine-Tails said.

"You overdid it with the killing intent," Naruto replied.

Kurama snorted. "That's what makes it fun. You're lucky I don't unleash the full force."

Naruto ignored the remark and stepped into the building. As he entered, the sound of something slicing through the air reached his ears. Without flinching, Naruto shifted to the side, dodging Zabuza's massive sword as it slammed into the ground.

Zabuza stood before him, pulling his sword back with a great heave.

"You've got some strength," Naruto remarked, impressed.

Kurama laughed again. "Still showing off without any real muscle, huh?"

"Just give me your chakra," Naruto shot back.

Kurama hesitated. "Do you really need my power to deal with this guy?"

Naruto smirked. "Think of it as showing me what I paid for."

With a low growl, Kurama relented, his chakra flooding Naruto's body. The red aura of the tailed beast coat wrapped around him, its raw energy crackling in the air. Zabuza's confident expression faltered as memories of his previous defeat flashed in his mind.

"Wh-What do you want?" Zabuza stammered.

Naruto's voice was calm but firm. "All the money you took from Kado—or both of your lives."

Zabuza understood the unspoken threat: Naruto knew Haku was nearby, hidden and ready to strike. With a sigh, Zabuza nodded.

"Fine. Take it."

---

Kado had a fortune, but Zabuza couldn't carry all of it at once. He handed over the majority of it to Naruto.

"Keep the rest," Naruto said. "But don't make the same mistake as Kado. If I hear you've turned into another tyrant, I'll come back. And you won't get another chance."

Naruto's warning was punctuated by another surge of murderous intent. Zabuza nodded obediently while Haku remained silent, her expression unreadable.

Naruto stored the money in his system space and walked out of the building, satisfied. His capital reserves had increased tenfold.

On his way back, Naruto ran into Guy's team, who had also completed their mission. Together, they returned to Konoha.

Back in Konoha

Shortly after returning, news of the upcoming Chūnin Exams spread throughout the village. Naruto wasn't surprised when his system chimed in with a new mission:

> Ding~ System Mission Released: Participate in the Chūnin Exam. Rewards will be based on the final system rating.

Grade C: 1 simulation opportunity

Grade B: 2 simulation opportunities

Grade A: 3 simulation opportunities

Grade S: 5 simulation opportunities

Naruto raised an eyebrow. "System, what happens if I refuse?"

> Ding~ This system emphasizes free choice. Host may decline, and a similar mission will be issued later.

Naruto considered it. The Chūnin Exams were an exciting event, and he didn't want to miss out. "How will the rating be determined?" he asked.

> Ding~ Ratings will be based on overall performance during the exam.

With five simulation opportunities on the line, Naruto decided to take it seriously. He called Sasuke and Sakura together to discuss their strategy.

"The Chūnin Exams, huh?" Sasuke said, his eyes gleaming. "There'll be some strong opponents this time."

Naruto nodded. "Exactly. That's why we need to prepare."

Sakura looked uncertain. "Naruto, do you really think we're ready for something like this?"

Naruto grinned. "Of course. With me as your captain, we're unstoppable."
