Chapter 1: Transfer Student (1/2)
It was a stormy night, the rain fell from the heavens nonstop, flooding the streets. Many ran to get home or to their cars. Among such people was a nun, who was rushing home when she paused upon seeing blood being carried by the rainwater. Stunned, she quickly followed the blood and was horrified to see a black-haired kid around 1 year old struggling to stand.
She quickly rushed over to help the boy rest on the ground. She quickly held out her palm and used her Sacred Gear, Mercy Of God on the kid, and to her shock, the holy power her Sacred Gear gave off was injuring the kid instead of healing him.
"Y-you're a devil..." She said in shock, she gritted her teeth for a second, before taking the child into her hands and running away.
"Lord forgive me... but I can't kill a child." She said, hurting the child once more for praying. This caused her to flinch before she just held the child tightly without saying anything else...
[17 years later]
"You have been getting more and more sleepy than usual, is this that Sleep Disease?" I asked calmly while looking at my mother. She was a retired Exorcist ever since she had me, she stayed away from the supernatural world and put all of her attention on raising me.
"Don't worry about me... no small disease could take me." She said with a tired smile. I frowned while holding my bah, I was about to go to school, but her unending hunger for sleep was too much for me to ignore.
"Anos, go to school... oh, that reminds me. I think you should go look for your real parents. I should have told you this when you were 16, but I'm from America, so I waited until you were 18." She said lightly, confusing me as I had always assumed she was my mother.
From as far as I remember, in that alley where I woke up to find myself bleeding to death, she found me and loved me the only way a mother could love me. So I always assumed that she was my mother.
"I don't care for that stuff, and I'm not going to America to try and find someone who might have thrown me away," I said calmly, we moved from America when I was 2 years old, and ever since we moved all over the world, until a few months ago we came to Japan.
"But they were looking for you... I ran away because amongst those looking for you were not good people." She said to which I nodded lightly, everything making sense now
"I always thought we were running away seeing how quick we were always to move... but I'm good. I have a feeling if I went to America, I would never see you again. You're my mother, and that's all that matters to me." I said while kissing her on the cheek, before leaving... but she stopped me.
"Anos, you're a devil. And a powerful one, you can't ignore the supernatural world forever... please go." She said pleadingly, I paused for some time, not turning back to look at her before I opened the door.
"I just want to live a simple life mom, I have no interest in the fighting between devils and the gods. I like my life just the way it is, unless the Supernatural world comes knocking, I will not go looking for it." I said lightly, before leaving, not wanting to stay there for a second longer.
'Mom isn't a devil, so the disease can't be the sleeping disease... right?' I thought while walking towards school, today was going to be my first day at Kuoh Academy
The Sleep Disease is a unique disease to Devils that afflicts both ordinary and noble Devils. When Devils develop this disease, they fall into a deep sleep and won't be able to wake up. Then their body gradually starts to become weak, and they will meet death. That's why patients suffering from Sleep Disease are forced to maintain their lives artificially in a hospital. The Devil doctors have searched for many ways to cure the disease, but they didn't find any.
If I knew the root of my mother's problems, I was sure I could fix it. After all, I wasn't just any normal person. 17 years ago, I died and my soul was hit by another soul, a soul belonging to a being known as Anos Voidigoad.
This man was so powerful, that he destroyed his verse, that destruction was so great that he was destroyed as well... but he was Anos, he could come back from complete Destruction, and even from nothingness. But something prevented him from doing so, something tried to use that moment of weakness to switch sources with Anos, but I ended up instead taking Anos's Source as well as his experience... well, I didn't take it, more like we fused.
Thanks to Anos' heavy injuries, I was in control, and in the past 17 years, I had absorbed everything to do with Anos... well, almost everything, most of Anos's memories were destroyed, luckily what remained was his magic which I had already mastered.
I watched anime, I knew who Anos was, and I was confused as to how he was left in such a critical state. I also had a feeling that Anos bonded with me, and not everything was by chance as I thought... but that was just a feeling.
"..." A crimson-haired beauty suddenly sat up straight as she felt the aura of something... something she wasn't able to put her finger on. She wasn't sure if it was a devil, a sacred gear, or something else. But whatever this thing was, it wasn't normal.
She looked outside the window towards where the sea of students was entering Kuoh Academy, and her eyes landed on me. Feeling someone's gaze, I looked around for a moment, before my eyes soon landed on the Crimson hair.
'I always had a weak spot for redheads.' I was amazed by her beauty before I snapped myself back to reality and went on with my day, asking a few students for help, so I could make my way through the academy until I could find my class. I was with the second-years, and I was the first person in class. I sighed, before going to stand next to a window outside the classroom.
While waiting for classes to start, I put on my headphones before going on to listen to music. But my eyes were soon forced open by the sight of red hair. Not bothering to remove my headphones, I sized up the redhead, along with a black hair beauty who had a gentle smile. Down the hallway were two black-haired beauties with glasses walking towards us.
"Is something wrong?" I asked while removing my headphones,
"You're new around here, I came to welcome you to Kuoh Academy." The redhead said while sizing me up. A slight surprise was in her eyes, normally when people see her, her charm is something they can't ignore. Yet today, she came across someone with charm no less than hers, and might even be better in some places... and that said person didn't look at her with the same eyes as everyone else.
"Thanks... you are? I'm Anos Voidigoad by the way." I said lightly.
"That's a weird name... I'm Rias Gremory, of the Gremory household." Rias said sizing up my reaction to her name, and there was no shocked look or anything.
"... should I know the Gremory household?" I asked seeing how she looked at me with some expectation, and this left her speechless for a moment.
"Yes, my family owns the school," Rias said, quickly realizing I didn't know much about the supernatural world.
"Cool," I said with a lack of interest that was too great that it bugged Rias slightly. She didn't know what to say. But by now the two girls with glasses had arrived, and I got to know their names.
The shorter one with glasses and a somewhat flat chest was called Sona Sitri. The taller one was called Tsubaki Shinra, I guessed they were sisters or something like that. I looked at Rias and Sona who seemed to be talking with their eyes, I thought for a moment before sighing.
"I need to go to the bathroom... where is it?" I asked to which they pointed down the hall. I nodded towards them and left... I will stay in the bathroom until classes start. Something was weird with those girls, and I had no interest in whatever that was.
"Fine," Sona said in defeat, before walking away, making Rias smile at her victory. She looked towards the bathroom where I entered, and without a second thought, she went on to enter, leaving behind her friend to deal with any unwanted problems.
"... Oh, so using the bathroom was an escape from us," Rias asked seeing me on a 3ds. I saw her enter the bathroom before I looked around the bathroom to make sure this was the male's bathroom, and seeing as this is the male's bathroom but she didn't care, it showed that she didn't care since her parents ran the school.
"No, I have no interest in having sex with you," I said calmly. I had no interest in relationships, they came with so much responsibility and commitment... something I didn't have. Sex wasn't as bad, but seeing as she would come here to have sex with me showed that pretty much the whole school had a taste of her, and knowing how kids were, I'm sure protective sex wasn't the first thing on their minds. Meaning I would be putting myself at risk of catching something... if I did have a condom, that would be another story. I would have to avoid skin-to-skin contact for my safety.
"..." Rias paused as she felt like she was wrongly judged, and seeing how I had my guard up to avoid any form of skin-to-skin contact, she felt like punching someone for a moment, but she forced a smile.
"This isn't about sex, I'm still a virgin, and happily so." She said to which she grew annoyed with the look I gave her.
"I came to ask you out on a date, take your time to ask long the school about me... I will come get your answer at the end of the school day." She said before leaving, leaving me speechless. This wasn't my first time being asked out, and most of the time I ignored the person asking me out since... well, I didn't want a girlfriend when I knew all I wanted was sex. Anything else would be a pain for me to deal with... but why did I want to date Rias? Again, I had a weak spot for redheads. Something about their red hair made them hot in my eyes... but this felt more than that, she was special for some reason. From the moment I saw her, I was enchanted by her beauty... now, the question was, should I accept or reject her?
I didn't care much for virginity, what I cared most about were 3 things. Personality, charm, and what my heart was telling me. I guess the right move right now is to accept the date and get to know Rias... She checked 2/3 of the boxes. If her personality was to my liking, then I wouldn't mind getting into a committed relationship,
