Herrscher of Dominance in Honkai, starting with the abduction of Kiana

Chapter 172: Super Ultra Cute Kiana-chan!

As evening approached, twilight descended, a hazy blood-red sunset painting the sky.

A black feather drifted down, landing on an old utility pole.

A crow meticulously preened its feathers, its crimson eyes fixed on the motionless human below.

It waited patiently for the target to die, anticipating the sweet aroma of decay, a feast that would last for weeks.

The only problem was, it wasn't the only crow eyeing this meal.

It glanced at the other crows perched on nearby poles, ready to pounce. The slightest movement would trigger a frenzy.

Finally, as darkness deepened, the dangerous aura surrounding the human faded.

The crow cawed excitedly, swooping down. A swarm of crows followed, like a dark omen.

But as they landed on the girl, their beaks aiming for the wound on her neck, a surge of energy erupted.

The crow exploded in a shower of blood and feathers, scattered by the evening breeze.

The other crows met the same fate, the air thick with the stench of blood and viscera, their feathers reduced to dust by Honkai energy.

The sudden carnage jolted Kiana awake. She looked around, confusion clouding her azure eyes.

"Cough…" Her throat was parched, each breath a struggle.

She tried to sit up, but her arm gave way, sending her sprawling back into the dirt.

Ignoring the cuts on her hands, she gritted her teeth, digging her bloody fingers into the ground, pushing herself up with all her remaining strength.

The memory of those fearful glances at the Anti-Entropy base flashed through her mind. A wave of pain washed over her.

A Herrscher can never truly be with humans.

"We're like ants, scorched by the mere spout of your light," Ren's words echoed in her mind.

A deep ache settled in her heart. She was back in that hospital room, seeing Ren's tears falling onto the dusty floor.

Only now did she truly understand the pain, the despair in his voice.

But it was too late. After that last desperate teleportation, Kiana felt her life force ebbing away.

She'd poured all her remaining energy into that final jump, just to return to where it all began, to where she'd first met him: ARC City.

Now, under the scorched sky, she gazed at the ruined cityscape.

Even so, she dragged her weary body forward, like a child desperate to go home, towards a place etched in her memory.

After a long trek, she reached the main road, the path to ARC City.

A rusted signpost, barely legible, caught her eye. She brushed away the dust.

[ARC City: 5km]

"ARC City…"

The last stop on her journey, the place where she'd met him. The city held many unpleasant memories, but it was also a treasure she could never forget.

But the battle had destroyed everything, reducing the city to ashes. She wouldn't find him here.

"It's enough… it's enough…" The Honkai gnawed at her, a constant torment, yet she couldn't feel the physical pain anymore.

Her ultimate destination was Nagazora City, where she'd met Mei, where Older Kiana had left the only clue about Ren.

But could she make it? Could her broken body carry her that far?

She didn't know. Making this place her final resting place was all she could do.

She walked along the asphalt road, the night sky unfolding above her, stars and moon scattered across the darkness.

She was adorned with starlight and moonlight, just like the day they'd met.

But as she reached the city limits, she stopped, stunned.

The city, which should have been in ruins, was alive.

The once-abandoned outskirts were now the only intact area. Prefabricated buildings, constructed with advanced technology, formed a new community.

The neon lights were gone, but warm lights illuminated people's faces. The vibrant nightlife had vanished, but the people were closer, their bonds stronger.

Those who couldn't bear the city's destruction had been relocated with government assistance. Those who remained were driven by hope, determined to rebuild.

Street vendors lined the roads, traditional businesses that had vanished from the technologically advanced city center, now thriving here.

The gourmet meals of exclusive restaurants couldn't compare to the simple joys of street food. Construction workers gathered, sharing stories and laughter.

They were former office workers, struggling renters, middle-aged families burdened by debt, all dreaming of owning a home in the city center.

Now, freed from those burdens, they'd found a new community, not dwelling on the past, but looking towards the future.

This reborn city had a new name: Obsidian Concord.

Kiana, overwhelmed, felt a wave of dizziness. A large screen displayed the day's news: updates on the city's reconstruction, completely transparent, a stark contrast to the past. But here, it was normal.

As she stood there, lost in thought, a group of children approached, handing out small gifts, promoting something.

A little girl stopped before Kiana.

"Nee-chan, are you interested in learning about our super ultra cute Kiana-chan?"
