Chapter 7: Chapter 6
After dinner, Adam's headache worsened. A few minutes into the meal, he found himself wishing he could be back in the woods, bed or no bed. The confined space and stifling atmosphere of the dinner were beginning to suffocate him. The mayor, who had greeted him at the gate earlier, still seemed to think Adam was some sort of noble, mostly because no one could inspect him. Even the guild leader, a level 50 Uncommon class, had tried and failed to get any information.
Adam had tried his best to explain without revealing too much, only telling them he was a herbalist and a low-level one at that. But it didn't help.
Things only got stranger when the guild leader pulled out a small stone—a smooth rock glowing with soft white light. Inspecting the iItem.

ITEM (UNCOMMON) TRUTH STONE
Discerns the spoken truth. White for true. Red for lies.
Adam could only watch in confusion as they muttered something under their breath, and then they ignored him for the rest of the evening.
Honestly, that silence was a relief. All he wanted now was a bed and some sleep, but that didn't seem like it would happen anytime soon.
The mayor suddenly cleared his throat, drawing Adam's attention. "Ah, I just realized the guest bedroom is in the middle of having its floors replaced," the mayor said, almost as if he'd just remembered. "But don't worry! I've already arranged for my servant to get you a room at one of our finest inns. It's on me for the night, of course. He'll take you there now."
Adam stared, blinking. "Oh... thank you. That's... generous." The headache throbbed behind his eyes, making it harder to think clearly, but the prospect of a bed was enough to push the discomfort aside.
The servant, a young man with neat brown hair and a polite smile, stepped forward. "This way, sir."
Adam nodded, giving a half-hearted smile to the mayor and guild leader, both of whom had already turned their attention back to other matters. As he followed the servant out into the cool night air, the soft hum of the village seemed to ease the tightness in his chest. The flickering lamplights along the street gave the village an almost peaceful glow, though Adam couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched.
As they walked, the servant glanced at him. "If you don't mind me asking, sir, what is it that brings someone like you to Galewood? No offense meant, but you don't look like a typical traveler."
Adam's headache made it hard to focus, but he responded out of habit. "I'm a herbalist. Just passing through. I thought I might be able to make a little coin helping the people here."
The servant was quiet the rest of the way to the inn, then he pointed and left. I walked on my own from there.
Shaking off the unease, Adam pushed open the door to the inn and the smell of meat greeted me Adam walked to the man behind the bar and spoke, "The mayor said he got a room here for me. The name is Adam," he spoke up gruffly. "Ah, you were with the caravan Were you the one that treated the injured?" Adam thought he heard hope in the man's voice and spoke, "Yes, I was. Im going to bed and then going to see to everyone i can starting tomorrow evening if you will let everyone know." The innkeeper looked around and then moved closer to Adam. "I know you must be tired, but if you could see someone tonight, I can give you a silver coin. I know it's not a lot for healing, but it's all I can spare at the moment." Adam, tired beyond belief, still agreed and followed the man up the stairs. When he got someone to cover for him as we walked into a room, I could smell sweat, and the innkeeper spoke up. "I Heard you cured the wasting diseases my daughter has Please help her and the silver is yours and you can stay here until you've enough coin, I swear."
Adam looked her over and asked the innkeeper for access to the kitchen and for a mortar and pestle He led the way as Adam followed Excited to help but exhausted. "Here is the kitchen and over there is a common mortar and pestle After you use it, I can't for food anyway so it's yours on top of everything else; just please hurry." Just like before he mixed Biterleafe, dullroot, and a basic healing herb together After cutting them up and grinding them together he added it to the boiling water Then he thought about it and took out the rare Nourishment Vine and cut a small piece off before grinding it and adding it together to the water. As he removes it and lets it cool him, this time he takes the water and pours it into a container he found and removes the residue that was left at the bottom, and its a sappy residue that wasn't there before He inspects both.

He cleaned up and grabbed the mortar and pestle in his inventory, then walked out of the kitchen and into the room where the innkeeper and his daughter waited. "A quarter of this and we will wait; she should get better quickly." After around half an hour she began to wake up while the innkeeper grabbed her and held her; Adam slipped away to his bed. Finally, the day was over, and he dropped onto the bed and decided now was a good time to take a look at the titles he got and the level up.
