Hentai Conquest: Starting From Kuroinu

Chapter 2: Chapter 002: Levontine Family

"No... no way... I can't eat anymore..."

Watching Celestine try to feed him more food, Asahi shook his head repeatedly, signaling he couldn't eat another bite. To be fair, halfway through the meal, it had stopped being his own dining effort and had turned into forced feeding.

"Indeed, you've eaten quite a lot."

Celestine glanced at the stack of empty plates in front of them, convinced Asahi was full.

"So, do you have anything planned for today? If you want to rest, you can return to the room we were just in. If you feel like going out to have fun, I can provide you with some spending money. I don't normally use much money, but there's plenty you can use as pocket money. Don't feel the need to be thrifty; buy whatever you like."

Asahi looked at Celestine, who was acting like a family member, pampering and doting on him to an unusual extent. This level of care was something he wasn't used to, but it also reminded him of something.

'The goddess seemed to have turned my casual musings into abilities, right? So, the current situation is likely a result of that ability's influence? I actually thought she was interested in me...'

Thinking of this, Asahi sighed regretfully. At that moment, a hand holding a handkerchief gently wiped his mouth, cleaning off some food sauce left at the corner.

Asahi turned his head to see Celestine's action. She met his gaze with her usual gentle and caring smile.

"What's wrong? Does your stomach feel uncomfortable from eating too much?"

As she said this, Celestine reached out to Asahi's stomach, intending to massage it for some relief.

"No... It's not uncomfortable; I just feel like this situation isn't too bad."

"Really? That's good. I was worried about what to do if you couldn't adapt to this place."

Celestine's face relaxed, as if this worry had been weighing on her mind. Hearing his answer, she finally felt at ease.

"Speaking of which, I still don't know much about this world. Could you tell me a bit?"

"Of course. Let's start with the goddess Lerentia. She is this world's guardian deity. Since life first emerged on this land, her gaze has been fixed here, slowly guiding and helping humans, dwarves, elves, and beastfolk establish their own civilizations. She also bestowed upon us the power to fight against monsters."

"Only four races?"

Asahi had imagined a vast number of races in an otherworldly setting. This felt a bit limited.

"Of course not. But the others are all vile, filthy creatures, as detestable as monsters."

When she mentioned this, Celestine's eyes revealed a rare hint of disgust, which surprised Asahi. After all, Celestine had always appeared gentle, kind, and tolerant. For her to show such an expression, how hated must these beings be?

"First, let's talk about monsters. They're also creatures born from this land, but they're nothing more than destructive beasts. Their existence doesn't bring any benefits to this world—only disaster and sorrow."

"And then there are the Black Beastfolk."

"Black Beastfolk? How are they different from regular beastfolk?"

Hearing this term, Asahi became curious.

"Black Beastfolk are a group that has not established any civilization and still lives a primitive, brutish life. These creatures also cause destruction and often abduct women. Their impact is sometimes worse than that of monsters."

Celestine's eyes clouded with sadness but quickly adjusted her expression. She didn't want her emotions to affect Asahi's mood.

"Lastly, there's the Demon Tribe. No one knows how they came into existence, but they've established their own kingdom. Initially, they clashed with humans, beastfolk, and elves over territory. However, as time went on and kingdoms were formed, a non-aggression pact was signed. To this day, both sides coexist peacefully along the border."

"I see. When I first heard about the Demon Tribe, I was worried they'd be aggressive invaders. But it's a relief to hear that's not the case."

"Yes, having no war is the best outcome. War is a terrifying thing—it not only takes lives but also destroys happy families, leaving behind only grief. I'm glad you understand this. As expected, the one chosen by the goddess Lerentia loves peace as much as she does."

Celestine seemed genuinely happy, feeling less alone in her beliefs.

"By the way, Asahi, you should come with me to meet the commander of the Seven Shields Alliance's fortress. After all, it's necessary for everyone to recognize and understand your presence here."

"The Seven Shields Alliance? Is it a coalition of nations?"

"Yes, it was formed during the war against the Demon Tribe. Humans, dwarves, and beastfolk united to create it, with its core being seven fortresses. Each fortress can be considered a nation in its own right. All of them are devout followers of the goddess Lerentia, so it's important to get acquainted with them."

Asahi nodded in understanding. Considering the commotion his arrival caused, it was impossible for people not to know about him. Certain situations were inevitable.

From Celestine's perspective, Asahi could tell she wanted to ensure he had strong connections in this world to make his life easier. Her motherly concern for him was evident.

"Alright, I'll do my best."

"There's no need to feel nervous. They're all easy to get along with. Besides, you're seen as the goddess Lerentia's messenger or even her child. No one would dare trouble you."

"But the truth is, I'm neither of those things. I was just reincarnated into this world by the goddess and didn't come with any sort of mission. Honestly, I don't think I'm cut out for roles like hero or warrior—they're too exhausting."

Hearing this, Asahi felt a bit embarrassed, but Celestine looked at him with a comforting expression.

"There's nothing wrong with thinking that way. The appearance of heroes or warriors usually signifies disaster or war. Your unwillingness to take on such roles shows you don't want to see such sorrow. Living a peaceful, stable life is the best choice."

Celestine's response made Asahi feel as if he were being indulged by a doting mother who would support any decision he made. Reflecting on how she had cared for him earlier, Asahi felt he might end up spoiled under her care.

Shaking his head to dismiss the thought, Asahi reminded himself that he was in another world and should seize the opportunity to live a fulfilling new life. Otherwise, it would feel like a disservice to the goddess Lerentia.

"Alright, I'll leave it to you to decide. I have no objections."

"Good. Then let's start by meeting the family of the Levantine House. They're a prestigious noble family known for producing outstanding warriors. The current head, General Garf, is a legendary undefeated general. His adopted daughter, the captain of the goddess's Holy Knight Order, oversees the sixth and seventh fortresses. Getting to know them will be very beneficial for you."

"Starting off with such high-ranking figures?"

Hearing about their background, Asahi was stunned and slightly worried about embarrassing himself when they met.

"There's no need to feel nervous. In fact, it might be them who are nervous to meet you, as you represent the goddess Lerentia. No matter how noble the Levantine family is, they can't compare to you."

"Hah... I'll try my best."

———

'Could it be that the less you wear in this world, the higher your defense?'

This peculiar question popped into Asahi's mind as he looked at the female knight before him. Otherwise, he simply couldn't comprehend why she would wear armor that consisted only of shoulder pads and a custom chest plate, leaving most of her skin exposed. What exactly was this outfit supposed to protect?

The female knight noticed Asahi's gaze and, from his expression, discerned confusion and puzzlement. She couldn't help but wonder if there was something odd about her attire.

"Lady Celestine, is this the messenger of the goddess Lerentia who caused such a stir in Eos yesterday?"

At that moment, Garf—whose gray hair resembled a Mediterranean style and whose physique, even under armor, exuded strength despite his apparent age—greeted Celestine before turning his sharp gaze toward Asahi.

The aura of a seasoned battlefield veteran combined with his piercing stare caused Asahi to instinctively tense up and respond.

"Ah! Yes! I'm Asahi!"

"Father, you're scaring the child," the female knight remarked, reminding Garf, before turning to Asahi with a gentle smile.

"Please don't be nervous. My father doesn't mean any harm. His demeanor is just a natural instinct. Please don't hold it against him."

Faced with the knight's explanation, Asahi quickly shook his head and replied, "No, it's fine. In fact, having someone like General Garf here gives me a sense of security. With someone like him guarding this place, nothing could possibly go wrong."

Hearing Asahi's compliment, the female knight's smile deepened, and even Garf's stern face showed a faint grin. After all, kind words are universally appreciated—especially when spoken by someone of Asahi's unique status, making them carry extra weight.

"By the way, may I ask your name?" Asahi asked the knight once he'd calmed down.

"I am Claudia Levontine, my father's adopted daughter and the captain of the church's holy knight order. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lord Asahi."

"There's no need to address me so formally," Asahi said, feeling slightly embarrassed as this was the first time anyone had called him "Lord."

However, Claudia shook her head firmly. "No, it's a matter of etiquette. As the messenger of the goddess Lerentia, your status makes it inappropriate for me to address you casually."

Hearing this, Asahi looked at Celestine, who nodded silently, affirming Claudia's stance.

"Well, how about this? Since we're in a private setting without anyone else around, you don't have to use such formal titles. Would that be acceptable?"

"If Lord Asahi insists, then… we understand," Claudia reluctantly agreed after noticing Asahi's genuine wish, though she couldn't help but glance at Garf, who had remained silent since their initial greetings. Her concern grew as she wondered if something was wrong.

"General Garf, you've been staring at Asahi for a while now. Is there an issue?" Celestine asked, her tone reflecting her confusion. She had arranged this meeting to help everyone get acquainted, but Garf's behavior was perplexing.

"No, it's nothing significant. I just have a small question. Lord Asahi, have you ever considered training in martial arts?" Garf asked, his sharp eyes scanning Asahi's frame with a fiery intensity that made Asahi uneasy, even suspecting if this man had some strange preferences.

"Martial arts? Why ask such a thing? I've never even thought about it. I don't even have experience handling weapons," Asahi replied.

"None at all? In that case, I hope Lord Asahi will consider trying martial arts. It could bring you immense benefits—perhaps even make you a renowned general across the continent," Garf said, his tone barely containing his excitement, leaving Asahi and the others stunned.

"Isn't that… a bit exaggerated?" Asahi asked, doubting whether he had such talent.

"No, my judgment is rarely wrong. Lord Asahi, you may not realize it yourself, but as someone who's been a general for years, I trust my instincts. You possess extraordinary potential as a martial artist. Hidden within your body is power beyond imagination. If you're willing, I'd be honored to personally train you."

"Lord Asahi, my father is never one to joke, especially about something he is so passionate about. I assure you he's serious," Claudia interjected, noticing Asahi's skepticism. The thought of Asahi achieving such greatness, as her father described, filled her with hope.

"Asahi, you might as well give it a try. There's no harm in it," Celestine chimed in. She saw this as a perfect opportunity to strengthen Asahi's bond with Garf.

"Alright, I understand," Asahi agreed. However, he couldn't help but notice that Garf seemed even happier than Celestine at his response.

Though Asahi found Garf's enthusiasm odd, he had little time to dwell on it as he stood in the training ground, awaiting instructions.

"Lord Asahi, I'd like to assess your physical condition. Please follow my instructions," Garf said eagerly. Without delay, he began a series of endurance and strength tests. The results, however, were less than satisfactory.

Garf was certain that Asahi wouldn't even measure up to a common militia recruit. But this outcome was within his expectations—Asahi's physique reminded him of pampered nobles who had never endured hardship. Nonetheless, Garf wasn't disheartened; what he valued was Asahi's potential.

"In that case, we'll start your training from the very basics," Garf declared.

"Understood," Asahi replied, unsurprised. He was well aware of his lack of physical prowess.

However, as Asahi caught the wooden sword Garf tossed to him, a strange sensation welled up inside him, almost as if power had suddenly awakened within him. Just then, a chibi version of the goddess Lerentia appeared before him.

Asahi's eyes widened in disbelief. Before he could cry out in surprise, the chibi goddess began speaking.

"Asahi, seeing me like this means you've picked up a weapon. Don't be alarmed—I'm just a pre-recorded message that only you can see. Here's the deal: this is the last safeguard I've left for you. While you're a good kid without aspirations of heroism, life in a new world without strength is dangerous. So I've left you this gift, which activates when you wield a weapon."

"Since your wish was already granted, my blessings can no longer grant you immense power. Instead, this ability will assist you in gradually growing stronger. Whether training in martial arts or learning magic, you have exceptional talent. With a weapon in hand, you'll instinctively know how to fight and improve rapidly. This is the best I can do. From here on, it's up to you. Work hard and live a happy life."

With that, the chibi goddess vanished, leaving Asahi stunned. If not for his awareness of his identity, he would've thought this level of care resembled that of a doting parent.

"Lord Asahi?" Garf called, noticing Asahi standing still with the wooden sword. Suddenly, Garf sensed a shift in Asahi's demeanor—an aura of a trained soldier replacing that of a clueless novice. It was so surreal that even Garf, a seasoned general, found it hard to believe.

"Father, what's happening to him?" Claudia asked, alarmed, just as Garf suddenly attacked Asahi with a wooden sword. Startled, Claudia instinctively tried to intervene but was too late.

Asahi, however, reacted instinctively, raising his wooden sword to block Garf's strike.

"General Garf?" Asahi asked in confusion, meeting Garf's intense gaze.

"Lord Asahi, please spar with me. I believe you're ready." Garf exclaimed.

Realizing the changes within himself had been noticed, Asahi nodded. "Understood."

"Lord Asahi, now please fight me. I can feel that the current you is definitely capable."

He figured it out?

Asahi realized that his changes had been noticed by the other party, which was why he had suddenly attacked him. However, Asahi did not resist this situation, as he also wanted to get familiar with these changes. Moreover, the goddess Lelentia had mentioned that this was only to provide him with a better foundation, making training in this area easier. It did not mean he was already invincible or anything like that.

"I understand."
