Chapter 1: Chapter 1 The Filming Project in Another World
Chapter One
In the spring of the year xxx in the Empire's calendar, Baron Durin Edward strolled through the castle's corridors, a glowing magic stone lighting his way as the flickering light danced across his face.
Durin was a traveler, but not just any traveler—he was a true adventurer of the X Empire. Once, he lived a pretty ordinary life as an anime fan, never dreaming he'd find himself in a whole new world.
And then, out of the blue, that day arrived.
"Ugh, no phone, no computer, no anime to binge, and no novels to dive into. When will this endless boredom end...?"
Unlike the typical hero who jumps into a new world with excitement, Durin was more of a reluctant traveler. He would much rather be at home, catching up on the latest anime, checking out new waifus every few months, and playing games he could never quite win. Being a noble in this rundown castle, with no TV in sight, felt like a far cry from the happiness of his old life.
After trying and failing to find a way back home, Durin had to face the music: he was stuck here. So, he decided to keep himself busy in the only castle he had, trying to pass the time. As he settled into this new routine, bits and pieces of his past life began to resurface.
Durin Edward hailed from a once-prominent family in the southern border of the Empire. As the heir to the Edward family, he had a natural talent for magic, which led his parents to invest heavily in his education at the Mage Tower in the imperial capital.
Once he arrived at the Mage Tower, Durin's abilities really shone. He zoomed through his studies, graduating from the apprentice magician level faster than anyone else and quickly climbing the ranks to become the youngest archmage before turning 20.
But while he was a whiz at magic, Durin's true passion lay in magical alchemy. He was fascinated by the intricate magical energy cycles within magic stones and the complex magical engineering that left most magicians scratching their heads. He was determined to dive deep into these subjects.
So, he skipped classes to focus on his interests and even published a paper on modernizing magic at the Mage Tower. Unfortunately, the old mages weren't impressed and rejected his work, leading to a fallout that got him expelled from the Mage Tower. He was banned from returning and lost his status as an imperial magic scholar.
Feeling defeated, Durin returned to the southern border, spending his days holed up in a small room in the castle, surrounded by his magical alchemical tools. It wasn't until the old Baron Edward passed away that he finally stepped out of his room to inherit the family title.
Even after becoming the Baron, he mostly kept to himself, tinkering with his magical creations and avoiding social interactions. Everyone in the castle assumed Durin would lead the Edward family to its downfall. But then, by a twist of fate, another Durin from a different world found himself in this body.
.....
As he opened the door to his new room, Durin took in his surroundings and his gaze landed on a piece of equipment tucked away in the corner.
"The magic video recorder and imaging crystal! I can't believe I overlooked these before. It's like a camera and film from my old world..."
Flipping through his memories, Durin was amazed that this creation of Baron Edward, made without any real intention, turned out to be such a remarkable find. Excitement bubbled up inside him—something he hadn't felt in ages. Since arriving in this world, his days had been a monotonous grind, and the responsibilities of being a lord had left him feeling pretty down. Even though he knew this body could wield powerful magic, the past version of himself had lost all enthusiasm for it. He was far more concerned about the latest episode of his favorite anime from back home.
But now, seeing these two incredible pieces of equipment that could change everything, he couldn't help but whisper, "Okay, this might sound a bit silly, but what if I could film those amazing animations I loved in this world...?"
That was exactly why Durin had ventured into this secluded room in the castle. He had heard that this world had made strides in papermaking and printing, and he had once thought about writing novels here. But he had to let that dream go due to his lack of writing skills.
Now, with this groundbreaking magical camera in front of him, Durin felt a spark of inspiration to bring the anime culture from his old world into this one.
"Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World," "Spice and Wolf," "Goblin Slayer," "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World," "The Familiar of Zero," "Overlord," "Akame ga Kill!," "Fullmetal Alchemist," "The Magic Book from Zero," "Restaurant to Another World," "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?"...
As all these classic anime titles flashed through his mind, Durin made a quiet but firm decision!
He was determined to film those beloved otherworldly animations and share them with the people of this world, helping them discover the joy of anime and the thrill of following a series!
