Chapter 56: Unknown Warmth
Lilia said, "Sure, Faiz, well, that works every time."
Leo added, "Wow, head pats during a mission."
Lucifer interjected, "Okay, you guys done with head pats?"
Astrea pleaded, "Two minutes more, please, Captain!"
Anew said, "If this is a dream, don't wake me up."
Lilia chuckled, "What kind of childhoods did you kids have?"
Lucifer cut in, "Alright, now that we're done with head pats, listen. You people are the only ones you have on your side until you reach Celes Port and give your statements. You will be hunted down by both the knights and the Zecres."
Everyone responded, "Understood!"
Lilia added, "Now that I'm here, it will be easier to get supplies from nearby villages."
Lucifer continued, "Here are your orders: take a detour through the Celestial Being territory. And remember to feed the prisoner three times a day. Make it to Celes Port within one week, and don't trust anyone, regardless of who they are."
Lilia then said, "It's getting late. You kids should go to bed."
Astrea objected, "But, ma'am, it's our duty to be on the lookout."
Lilia reassured her, "It's okay, you two are still kids. Plus, if you want, I can read you a bedtime story."
Astrea's eyes lit up, "Really?"
Anew quickly chimed in, "Okay, I'm going to bed. I wanna hear the story!"
Lilia teased, "Ara, ara."
Astrea asked, "Ma'am, do you have any siblings?"
Lilia smiled softly, "I used to be the oldest of 20 siblings, so I know these things a bit."
Astrea, with a hint of sadness, asked, "So where are they now?"
Lilia responded with a warm yet wistful smile, "Somewhere better, where they can be happy."
