After all the fishes and birds are out of the way, Elis said, "Are all ships in battle formation yet?" The captain said, "Ma'am, something is wrong. The weapon systems are offline." Elis said, "What the hell?" Faiz thinks to himself, "Something isn't right. Birds and fishes aren't scared that easily unless it's by a huge object. Yet there is nothing huge in front of us." Unless... Faiz said, "Everyone, take evasive preparations." Elis said, "Sorry, Faiz. I am the one in authority, and I am ordering us to take a defensive stance as our weapons are offline." Faiz said, "We don't have time." Elis said, "Don't worry. We won't have a reason to." "First two ships, now for a Black Lion special. All three Black Lion members, use a combined spell: water magic, Deep Lance Strike!" A huge strike is done using the river water, and there is nothing in front of them. Faiz thinks, "There is nothing. No illusion magic, no monster, no army, nothing." Elis said, "You see that, Faiz? That's what knights should be doing instead of running away. Are you really a member of ExistForger? You see, that's how we deal with enemies." Faiz says, "I am coming to your ship now." Elis said, "Sorry, we can't afford to stop before reaching Celes Port just because you want to come to our ship." Faiz said, "No need. I will fly there now." Wind magic, Wings of Liberation!" Faiz grows a pair of wings and flies to the front ship.Elis said, "Impressive, not many people know how to fly," Leo replied, "What exactly are we running from?" Faiz interjected, "Can't you understand? It's an ambush, and we have to be ready for an attack from any direction. The front is just a guess, nothing else. Now, wind magic, spirit mode, Spirit of Enlil, summon holy relic Zephyr's long sword." Faiz instructed, "Try and feel the mana around us, and you will understand." Elis focused a bit and felt some kind of weird magical power being condensed in a spot. "It can't be what I think it is," she exclaimed. Faiz warned, "All ships, take evasive action. They are about to retaliate." Leo questioned, "Where the hell are we going to run?" Elis commanded, "Everyone, use defensive magic at once!" Faiz grimly stated, "It's too late. We need to split the fleet into three." Elis refused, "No, we will stand and fight!" Suddenly, a huge magic attack was launched at them. "So soon? Well, and the enemy said, 'Magic weapon Deinsleif, full power strike,'" Faiz muttered. "Full power wind magic, Blazing Autumn Wind!" he countered. The fleet managed to hold off the Deinsleif attack for a bit. Elis urged Leo, "We have to help him now!" Both Elis and Leo lent Faiz some of their magic power. After the strike, the four ships on the left and right flanks were destroyed. "Now, use your water magic to accelerate us," Elis commanded. "Water magic, Water Burst, full thrust!" The fleet started to accelerate. "I am going ahead to try and distract them," Faiz declared. Elis questioned, "Do you even know how far or where the hell they are?" Faiz confidently replied, "Based on the angle and magnitude of the strike, they are possibly 300 meters ahead of us." Elis was incredulous, "How did you..." but Faiz vanished into the wind.
