Chapter 10: The Witch of Cursed Mirrors
Iris rallied her companions with determination, her voice carrying across the tense battlefield. "Anew, with me! We're taking on the big guy. Astrea, Riruru, focus on the undead and protect the villagers. Failure today is not an option; we are their only hope."
In unison, Riruru, Astrea, and Anew responded, "Yes, ma'am."
The imposing figure, who introduced himself as Zeldius, chuckled darkly. "I am Zeldius, and I wasexecuted 50 years ago thanks to that witch, Orion Solace. Because of her, I was captured and executed. Now, that i have been revived it's my time for revenge."
Iris clenched her fists, her voice dripping with contempt. "Oh, Solace you say .I am the Witch of cursed mirrors and The Queen of Glass is my mother. How dare you insult her! First, my mother caused your execution, and now I will execute you right here and now, you corpse."
Anew nodded, her eyes gleaming with magic. "Use your enchantment on me."
"Yes," Iris affirmed. "Mirror Magic, Reflect Armament."
With a burst of energy, she clashed fists with Zeldius. He was taken aback, thinking, "This girl is so small and weak, yet she is clashing head-on with my steel fists and not taking any damage. On the other hand, she is as strong as me. Even my steel is starting to crack, and I can feel the pain."
Iris's thoughts raced as she fought. "Thanks to Anew's enchantment, I can reflect 120% of the damage he's doing to me. This is a prisoner who was executed and then revived; someone had to go through a lot of trouble to find his corpse. I can't let my guard down."
In a swift motion, Iris unleashed her power, punching Zeldius in the chest, sending him crashing into a small house, reducing it to rubble. Zeldius struggled to his feet, asking, "How are you so strong?"
Iris stood tall, her eyes blazing with determination. "If my mother could beat you, so can I. After all, I am the Witch of Cursed Mirrors."
As the battle raged on, Zelius used his Steel Magic blood-stained spears, launching them relentlessly at Iris. She swiftly countered, "Mirror Magic, Glass Reflection." The spears entered the mirrors and were hurled back at Zeldius.
Meanwhile, Riruru and Astrea had nearly vanquished all the zombies, leaving the battlefield covered in blood. Astrea reported, "Ma'am, we're done."
A sudden flashback to a similar moment in her past overwhelmed Iris. Another girl saying, "Ma'am, we're done." Then, she saw blood, her head spinning. She struggled to maintain her composure, desperately searching for her pills as she began to shake.
Seizing this vulnerable moment, Zeldius launched an attack on Iris, aiming to take advantage of her weakened state.
