Greatest Streamer System

Chapter 429 – Developing a New Capsule [1]

"Actually, I am a bit angry at you, Peter," Max told him bluntly without hiding his irritation. "If we plan the concert a bit away, around August, she won't be like this."

"I am not surprised. I knew you would be angry. I am too." Peter said, sighing softly. "I am also angry at myself."

"Figured."

Both of them walked through the hallway toward Lily's room. They had finished their talk and agreed to what they should do tomorrow. A mini-event in Max's channel.

And after talking with Peter, Max understood the penalty of his next quest. The family here wasn't his missing family. It was about Lily and the Spencer Family. Both she and Peter had already thought of him as part of them, sharing their 'family' secret regarding the VR Capsules.

If his guess was correct, then the rumor spread to the internet would be about the Spencer Family. And the relationship that cracked wasn't just limited to one person but could be many.

'I need to finish this quest.' He thought. 'I also need to see the future. This might accelerate the project to make Lily able to enjoy VR without worrying about her hyper-sensitivity.'

Arriving at the room, Max entered with Peter following from behind. Lily was still eating on the bed, helped by the nurse. Seeing both of them, she jerked her head.

"Brother. Sorry." She said, "I left before the concert fully ended."

"Don't think about it. Ferin did a good job of hiding it." Peter answered and sat on the chair. "As long as you're fine, that's all I hope for. More importantly, how do you do?"

"I am fine."

They talked for a bit as Max listened to their conversation silently. At the end of the conversation, Peter broke the news to her. The revelation shocked her and made her sad.

"Sorry, Lily. Your brother is useless. I promise the next capsule will not have this defect and is safe for you."

"I will also help," Max added with determined eyes. "Maybe because of my naturally high SR, I can feel something that no one else can feel. Atlas will also help. We will conduct a certain test tomorrow for that."

"Max…" Lily looked at him, "Don't force yourself. I-I am fine with being unable to play VR freely. 3 hours is enough."

"It's not fine. I am not fine with it." Max interrupted her. "So, don't stop us, Lily. Just be a good girl and trust us, okay? And I won't force myself. I just held a mini-streaming event for tomorrow.

You can watch it on my channel. Ah, can you do me a favor and share it on your Strike? I appreciate it."

Lily looked at him and broke into tears. This was the first time she cried in front of him. The revelation of her condition shook her more than Max and Peter thought.

Max consoled her and patted her back. Feeling his touch, she jumped to him and hugged him hard, hiding her face on his shoulder as she continued to cry.

Her brother was unable to see the sight and went out of the room. He excused himself by saying that he would need to do his job to prepare for his team to get tomorrow's data.

There was no time to be sad. Both men had better things to do. Something that would make them a step closer to perfectly safe VR Capsules.

After crying, Lily fell asleep. She was already exhausted and pushed her body too much. In the past 3 weeks, she had no proper rest at all.

Max went to the hall after that. He had made an appointment to prepare for tomorrow. There was no time to rest. Even if his body broke and fell sick…

'I need to finish this as fast as possible.'

Arriving at the hall, he was greeted by a few people. Mr. Taka, Peter, Doctor Ardi, Rebecca, Ferin, and Atlas, people who probably were in knew of Lily's condition and the Spencer Family's plan to develop a new capsule. And they were people who could keep a secret.

When he entered, they were already talking about tomorrow's program.

"Sorry, I was a bit late," Max said, getting everyone's attention at once.

"Hnn, no problem. But, are you okay, Breeze? You look bad." Ferin said worriedly as he saw his slightly listless expression. "Shouldn't you rest a little bit?"

"I am fine."

"But–"

"Ferin, he said he's fine." Atlas put his hand on Ferin's shoulder and leaned forward, whispering something to her.

She groaned at that but didn't say anything more, just averting her gaze. Max nodded at Atlas who helped him and turned to Mr. Taka.

"My apologies for bothering you, Mr. Taka. Have Peter told you about the plan?"

"I have heard of it, yes." Mr. Taka nodded, pushing his glasses.

"Honestly, this is a bit reckless. But we already made a move, so might as well promote tomorrow's mini-event. This would mean risking one of your advantages as a streamer, though." He glanced at Atlas, "Your opponent is him. And I believe you won't hold back?"

"I won't." Atlas answered, "We need the data for Peter to develop a new Capsule."

"But we can do that secretly without exposing this."

"That won't do, Mr. Taka. This is an exciting event. Many people would be curious when two people with the highest SR compete in the Synchronization Test. This is a chance to get more viewers and spread my name."

Mr. Taka pushed, but Max interjected in the middle of his sentence. Indeed, it could lead to him losing his WR, but it was also his biggest chance to gather 50K viewers to his channel.

He was willing to give up one of his market advantages if it meant to get hope from the system. Besides…

"I don't plan to lose either. Imagine the viewers' reaction if I win and set a new WR. That would be amazing, no? We get all of them: data, viewers, and news for the media to spread."

"This is crazy." Mr. Taka sighed.

"We have no choice." Peter said, "The rent is too high."

Everyone looked at him in disbelief. Even Rebecca, his fiancée, giggled at him.

"That's a good joke, Peter. I didn't know you had it in you." Ferin commented.
