Chapter 381 – Spencer Family Party
Lime Grand Hotel.
A 5-star hotel stood in the heart of Lime City, close to the Mall and various tourist attractions in the city.
This hotel had a large hall for a party venue. This venue was often used by a company, family, or for a celebration due to its sheer size.
The room could hold up to 2500 guests. The hotel's staff were professional. They provided everything from the preparation to the food and drinks. They also took care of the decoration according to how the client liked it.
That was why many people chose this hotel as a party venue. Not only was it convenient, but the service was also top-notch.
Arriving at the hotel, Max didn't need to show anything. The limousine with the white heron symbol had served as his identity. Not to mention, Lily accompanied him. Her face alone allowed them to enter the party hall without invitation.
Having said that, there was a face recognition system installed near the entrance. It detected all the guests' faces and informed the guard whether there was an uninvited one.
Naturally, Max's face was inputted into the database already, under 'in-law' for the youngest daughter of Spencer's main family. It was StoneSword who inputted it.
Talking about the guy…
"You're here."
Lily's brother appeared as if he had been waiting for them. He was wearing a simple but luxurious suit. Beside him stood a beautiful girl with blonde hair. She wore a red straking dress that accentuated her beauty and elegance. Her arm was linked with StoneSword.
'She must be his fiancée.' Max thought as he nodded slightly at her when their gazes met.
"I'll introduce her to you," StoneSword said as he looked to his left. "She's Rebecca Ludger, my fiancée."
"I am sorry for being impolite. My name is Max Charles, it's nice to meet you."
"Hello, it's nice to meet you too." Rebecca smiled softly at him, her long ringlet hair moved as she spoke. "And it's been a long time, Lily. You look way cuter than we last met. And you smile more. I am happy."
"Un. Been a long time, Sister Rebecca." Lily answered with a smile on her face. "It's all thanks to Max."
"My~ It seems that you have changed quite a bit too." Rebecca approached Lily and began to hug her.
"S-Sister."
"Just a minute, 'kay? Can't help but miss this after hard work."
"F-Fine."
Max looked at them before turning to StoneSword.
"They are pretty close, huh? And she's your fiancée? I never imagined it."
"What did you imagine?" StoneSword asked back with a straight face.
"Well, seeing how you behave…" Max paused slightly as his lips curled into a smile. "I thought you would have a black-haired girl with blue eyes as your fiancée."

"What do you think I am?" StoneSword narrowed his eyes at him in displeasure.
Shrugging his shoulders, Max answered honestly, "An overprotective brother who only has his little sister in his mind." He smirked. "But putting that aside, should I call you brother just like Lily calling your fiancée sister here?"
"No, please don't," StoneSword answered, his expression twisted. "Just call me Peter. I will also call you Max while we're here. We have to show everyone we're getting along well. For those people, calling each other with a tag or professional name shows that we're putting distance between each other."
"It seems the people here are difficult to deal with." He laughed wryly as he looked around.
Only then did he notice that they had become the center of attention of the guests in this party hall. All of it was because the main hosts hadn't arrived yet, so they were looking at the second most important people.
"For now, I will act according to your instruction. Have any tips when I meet your parents?" Max asked as he turned his attention to StoneSword.
"Just be polite. Just like me, they hate someone who sucks on them, seeking profits from their connection and wealth." StoneSword answered in an obvious manner.
"As long as you show enough politeness and not put on any excessive act, you will be fine. I will do the rest of the job. For now, we should just stay here, in the center of attention. We need to have everyone remember your face. Maybe there will be people greeting us, you can introduce yourself at that time."
"Alright. I am counting on you… Truly."
Max had a foreboding feeling his introduction wouldn't be that smooth.
Why? Because he hadn't gotten the system's quest yet.
'Maybe the quest is to convince Lily's parents or something. But that's not related to streaming, no? Should I not worry too much?'
Worrying too much would only make him tense.
As StoneSword said earlier, some people began to greet them. It was started by a new guest. They were a pair of husband and wife, apparently a CEO of one of Spencer's companies. The company the man headed was a technological company, focusing on hardware.
Max introduced himself to the CEO, saying his name and his relationship with Lily. This happened many times to the point he was tired of having to smile all the time. He knew Lily's feelings now. His girlfriend also showed a tired expression, and her smile was so strained that it sometimes disappeared.
StoneSword and Rebecca were amazing. They were able to maintain their smiles. A lot of people didn't even hide their intention to get closer to them to get profit. Max could feel that intention clearly. That was why he was amazed by StoneSword who was able to put up an act even when he clearly disliked it.
After greeting a few guests, the venue suddenly turned quiet. Two sets of footsteps rang from the entrance. Everyone's attention was taken by a middle-aged couple that just entered.
The man had slicked back hair like everyone else, but there was a hint of gray in his black hair. The woman was wearing a midnight dress, similar to Lily, but was bolder. Her black hair was tied into a bun.
Just by entering, they changed the atmosphere in the room. StoneSword and Rebecca stood in attention, while Lily got close to Max and whispered.
"They are my parents. Scott Spencer and Nicole Spencer."
