God Level Farmer In Another World

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: The Mercenary’s Guild Promotes Widely

"Who sent you here?"

A white-haired young man with a hooked nose stood on the second-floor balcony, leaning against the railing, coldly staring at the old beggar.

The old beggar didn't think much of the young man, pointing at him and cursing, "Your mother sent me!"

The young man's eyes turned venomous. "Are you with the Black Dragon Gang? Coming here to make trouble without knowing your own limits?"

The old beggar laughed in anger.

'Limits? I've awakened to C-rank, and he thinks I have limits? I'm powerful beyond measure!'

He waved his hand, sending out several wind blades toward the white-haired youth.

The young man moved like the wind, instantly appearing behind the old beggar.

"Boom!"

The young man looked back, surprised, as the wind blades slashed through the second-floor railing.

"Not bad. Your attack has some strength."

The old beggar was dumbfounded. How did he dodge that? I didn't even see him move!

He quickly turned and sent another wind blade at the young man.

The white-haired youth dodged again.

The old beggar kept hurling wind blades, while the young man continued to dodge effortlessly.

To the untrained eye, it looked like the old beggar was chasing the young man, but anyone with experience could tell that the white-haired youth was toying with him.

It was like a cat playing with a mouse.

In less than two minutes, the old beggar was gasping for breath, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He had exhausted his energy and could no longer use his abilities.

The white-haired youth looked disappointed,

"That's it? I should've just killed you from the start."

He reached out his hand, and a strong force pulled the old beggar toward him.

Gripping the old man's neck, he squeezed.

Crack!

The old beggar's neck snapped, his eyes losing focus as he collapsed lifelessly to the ground.

Before he died, he muttered, "How... how can you kill people?"

The young man found this strange, but then smiled and turned to the guests, "Apologies, gentlemen, for disturbing your evening. Drinks are on me tonight!"

Several security guards dragged the old beggar's body outside, and a smiling mask and a ten-solar bill fell from his corpse.

The white-haired youth didn't notice the bill, stepping on it as he picked up the mask.

Maintenance crews quickly arrived, fixing the damage.

Soon, the music and the laughter of the girls filled the air again, as if the old beggar's incident had never happened.

...

Five hundred meters away from the entrance of the Imperial Nightclub, Alex sat on a bench, holding his phone.

Thanks to the virus Rosie had implanted in the old beggar's phone, Alex had been able to monitor everything that happened.

When he heard about the old beggar's death, Alex sat frozen in place for a full ten minutes.

Finally, he couldn't hold back and started laughing hysterically, so much so that passersby looked at him as if he were a madman.

"So, even the lowest of society's wretches, no matter how hard they try to fulfill their desires, can't make the slightest ripple in this world!"

The first thing he did with his newfound power was take back his bridge!

He used all his strength just to visit the lowest of brothels! He could've at least gone to a bathhouse!

It wasn't a lack of ability—it was a lack of vision.

Alex recalled a novel he had once read, where the protagonist awakened a god-tier system, and the first thing he did was buy an entire fridge full of iced tea!

And then? What happened after that? He went insane and rushed to a Nightclub?

Did he really think being C-rank made him invincible?

Perhaps in his world, C-rank was already a god beyond comprehension.

Alex sighed for a while, then dialed Rosie's number.

"Rosie, the Hunter's Guild is officially launching its large-scale promotion. Keep two of the super fruits, and send the rest out. Tell Jack to handle it smoothly."

Alex realized his worries had been unnecessary.

Smart people wouldn't expose the mercenary's Guild.

And the not-so-smart ones wouldn't have the chance to.

Tonight would be an unsettling night for many.

...

"Levi! Why did you take it upon yourself to use the hyperbaric oxygen chamber for the patient in bed sixteen?"

On the other end of the phone, the boss was shouting furiously.

Levi explained helplessly, "The patient's condition had deteriorated badly. If we didn't use the hyperbaric oxygen chamber in time, there could have been serious consequences!"

The boss became even more enraged, "Do you know the patient has no money? Who's going to cover the over 20,000 in fees?! The hospital is here to make money, not for your charity!"

Levi was silent for a moment before saying, "Deduct it from my bonus then."

The boss replied, "It's almost all been deducted already! You won't even have a salary next month! Someone as selfish as you still thinks about getting a promotion? Dream on!"

Staring at the phone after the call ended, Levi let out a long sigh.

The hospital received special treatment subsidies from the state every year. But the leadership, focused on the hospital's profits and aiming for the title of 'Provincial Key Hospital,' wouldn't let anyone touch that money.

The director would get a promotion and move on, but what about the patients?

"If only I could awaken some kind of combat talent. I've had enough of this place."

Levi couldn't bear the pitiful looks of his patients, nor could he tolerate the higher-ups who saw life as cheap, doing everything for their own career advancement.

"No, even if I awakened a combat talent, I'd have to stay in the hospital. At least I could help a few patients."

Levi was daydreaming.

He admired the Dark Knight—a rich bastard by day, a superhero by night.

Just then, a notification popped up on his phone.

"Do you desire power? — Flame of Creation Mercenary Guild."

Levi thought it was just an ad for a novel, but curious, he clicked on it.

Little did he know, that single click would change his life forever.

That night, many people received the same push notification.

Most of those who received it were good-hearted individuals.

Alex had told Rosie that it didn't matter who obtained the super fruits, as long as the person desperately craved extraordinary power. After all, Alex could control the life and death of those who awakened through the super fruits.

Character, personality—it didn't matter.

Perhaps because Rosie had been through hard times, she tended to push the super fruits toward those with pure hearts, but who were held back by life's unfairness.

With access to the Public Security Bureau's database and an S-rank hacker's AI analysis, it wasn't difficult to find these people.

Tonight, it wasn't just Levi who received an invitation from the Flame of Creation Mercenary Guild.

A female livestreamer, who supported children in mountainous areas through borderline provocative dance.

A teacher who had dedicated their life to education, only to be bullied by their boss due to a lack of connections.

A male internet celebrity who cared for his seriously ill younger brother and refused to open a donation channel, even though he was starving.

...

The Next Morning.

In the grand office of the Imperial Nightclub, a burly man lay in his office chair, dozing lightly.

His whole demeanor screamed menace. The black suit on him made him look like a thug in a suit.

A white-haired youth knocked on the door before walking in respectfully, "Mr. Giovanni."

Mr. Giovanni didn't even open his eyes.

"Did you find out? Where did that madman come from last night?"

The white-haired youth replied, "No, but the old man should have been a C-rank combat talent awakener. I suspect only the Black Dragon Gang would have the means to send someone like that."

Mr. Giovanni let out a mocking laugh, "What do they think they're doing? Sending an expert's head right to my door?"

The white-haired youth shook his head, showing he wasn't sure.

"That old man was strange, though. He clearly had C-rank talent, but his energy and combat experience were pathetically lacking."

He then remembered something and pulled out a mask from his pocket.

"This fell off the beggar's body. I don't think a real expert would carry something so meaningless."
